If you want one roughly 24-inch monitor for both gaming and everyday work, compare refresh rate, resolution, laptop connectivity and stand adjustment before choosing. The MSI PRO MP242 E14C is the clearest match here for high-refresh gaming features; the BenQ BL2490C combines a 144Hz specification with business-oriented features; and the BenQ GW2486TC is an office-focused option with a more adjustable stand. These are feature-based candidates, not a tested ranking.

Which one fits your mix of gaming and work?

For gaming features alongside everyday work: MSI PRO MP242 E14C

MSI lists a 144Hz refresh rate, 1ms MPRT and Adaptive-Sync/AMD FreeSync support. Those features make it a candidate if smoother motion and adaptive sync matter to you, while its USB-C connection and VESA mounting can suit a work setup too. They do not establish that it performs better than the other monitors in games; no comparative test results are available here.

For a business-style feature set with 144Hz: BenQ BL2490C

BenQ’s US listing combines a 144Hz Full HD IPS panel with USB-C, 99% sRGB coverage and eye-care features including Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free. This is a useful combination to consider for mixed work and gaming, but the listed features alone do not demonstrate color accuracy in practice or prove that the eye-care features reduce eye strain. The reviewed material does not establish the USB-C charging wattage or stand movement.

For a more adjustable office setup: BenQ GW2486TC

TechRadar describes this 24-inch 1080p monitor as an office-oriented option with USB-C charging and a stand that adjusts for height, tilt, swivel and pivot. Those movements can help you position a screen for your desk or rotate it for a portrait-oriented task. The cited description does not supply a refresh-rate figure for comparison with the two 144Hz candidates.

How to choose the right specifications

Refresh rate and adaptive sync

A higher refresh rate can display more frames per second when your computer and game can provide them. The MSI and BenQ BL2490C product listings specify 144Hz. MSI also lists Adaptive-Sync/AMD FreeSync; the reviewed BL2490C information does not establish adaptive-sync support. Check the exact model’s specification page and your graphics hardware if this feature matters to you.

Full HD clarity versus higher resolution

All three candidates are described as 1080p or Full HD. That resolution can be a reasonable fit for a roughly 24-inch screen, but it is less crisp than 1440p or 4K, particularly when viewed close up. TechRadar’s 2026 business-monitor guide notes this sharpness trade-off. If fine text detail is a priority, compare higher-resolution monitors at the same screen size before buying.

USB-C is not a guarantee of sufficient laptop charging

USB-C can carry video and data as well as power, which may reduce the number of cables needed for a laptop desk. MSI specifies DisplayPort Alt Mode and Power Delivery for the PRO MP242 E14C, while BenQ lists USB-C on the BL2490C and TechRadar describes USB-C charging on the GW2486TC. The reviewed specifications do not establish charging wattage for these models. Check the exact regional model’s output and compare it with your laptop’s requirements; do not assume that any USB-C monitor will charge your laptop adequately.

Dell 24 240Hz Gaming Monitor - SE2426HG - 23.8-inch FHD (1920x1080) 240Hz Display, in-Plane Switching (IPS) Technology, AMD FreeSync™ Premium, TÜV 3-Star, 2X HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, Tilt
  • Smooth motion: 240Hz refresh rate and fast 0.5ms response time provide crisp visuals and fluid movement with less input lag.
  • Seamless gaming: FreeSync Premium and HDMI VRR eliminate tearing for smooth, responsive PC and console gameplay.
  • Fast IPS: Faster 0.5ms response with excellent color accuracy across wide IPS viewing angles.
  • Rich color: 99% sRGB color coverage delivers vivid, detailed imagery with strong accuracy.
  • Eye comfort: TÜV Rheinland 3‑star certified display lowers blue light while preserving color quality.

Stand movement and VESA mounting

If the factory stand needs to fit a particular posture or desk, confirm which adjustments the specific model offers. TechRadar identifies height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustment on the GW2486TC; the reviewed material does not establish equivalent movement for the other two. MSI lists VESA mounting for the PRO MP242 E14C. Before buying an arm, confirm the monitor’s mounting pattern and weight and ensure the arm supports them.

Color and eye-care claims

BenQ lists IPS, 99% sRGB, Low Blue Light and Flicker-Free features for the BL2490C. These are manufacturer specifications and feature descriptions, not independent evidence of measured color performance or reduced eye strain. If color-critical work matters, look for independent measurements for the exact model rather than relying on a color-gamut figure alone.

Check the exact model before you order

  • Confirm the complete model name and regional version: MSI says specifications and availability may vary by country.
  • Check current local stock and price with the retailer; no live price or availability is established here.
  • For USB-C laptop use, verify video support and charging wattage for the exact monitor and compare the latter with your laptop’s needs.
  • If you plan to use a monitor arm, confirm VESA pattern, monitor weight and arm capacity. VESA support is listed for the MSI PRO MP242 E14C; do not assume it for another candidate without checking.
  • Choose resolution and stand adjustment based on your viewing distance, text-work needs and desk layout.

Sources informing these specifications are MSI’s PRO MP242 E14C product page and 2026 work-and-home monitor guide, BenQ’s US BL2490C product page, and TechRadar’s “Best business monitor of 2026: Professional displays for work,” published September 29, 2026. Their product descriptions support a feature comparison, not a definitive performance ranking.
