Its main drawback is software: the reviewer found native multitasking less intuitive than the hardware deserves. The verdict below reflects a review of an Indian retail 8GB/256GB T3201M5A over about two weeks, not an independent lab test or a current-price check.
What was reviewed
The review covered an Indian retail ASUS Pad T3201M5A with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The source reports Android 16 and these specifications; they are review-reported, not independently verified against current ASUS documentation.

Yes. The review’s standout is its 12.2-inch, 2800 × 1840 OLED panel with a 3:2 shape and 144Hz refresh rate. The reviewer praised its deep blacks, vivid color and responsive scrolling. The review attributes brightness figures of 600 nits typical and up to 2,000 nits peak HDR to ASUS; these are quoted figures, not measurements made by the reviewer.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The taller 3:2 format gives documents and web pages more vertical room than a widescreen panel, but video in common widescreen formats appears with bars. The glossy screen also reflects bright surroundings, even though the reviewer described outdoor visibility as generally good.
How well does the ASUS Pad perform?
In the reviewer’s tests, the Dimensity 8300 configuration felt quick for everyday navigation and app switching, and the tablet handled gaming well. These results describe that reviewed unit and do not establish performance for every regional model or software version.
| Test | Review result |
|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 | 1,441 single-core; 4,415 multi-core |
| AnTuTu v12 | 1,770,891 |

| 3DMark Wild Life Extreme stress test | 91.6% stability across 20 loops; reported temperature range of 32°C–40°C |
The reviewer recorded up to 120fps in Call of Duty Mobile. Zenless Zone Zero generally ran around 55fps at High settings, dropping nearer 50fps in heavier stretches; Medium settings were smoother over longer sessions. In the stress test, the reviewer said the chassis did not become uncomfortably hot.

Is the ASUS Pad good for gaming?
For the tested configuration, the review suggests yes: the high-refresh OLED, reported game frame rates and stable stress-test result make gaming a strength. The figures are the reviewer’s measurements under their test conditions, not a promise of a particular frame rate in every game, setting or update.
Is multitasking good on the ASUS Pad?
This is the tablet’s clearest weakness. The reviewer found split-screen and multi-app workflows insufficiently immediate and intuitive for a tablet with this much screen space and performance. That matters most if the Pad is meant to replace a laptop for frequent window switching, not simply to browse or watch content.
ASUS GlideX supports a different use case: PC screen extension and mirroring, cross-device control, file transfer, clipboard sharing and remote access. The reviewer found wired screen extension smoother than wireless. GlideX can help connect the tablet and a PC, but it is not a fix for the reported shortcomings in native Android multitasking.

Does the ASUS Pad support a stylus?
The review says the tablet supports ASUS Pen 2.0, but the pen was sold separately and was not included with the reviewed package. Confirm compatibility for the exact regional model before buying; the source does not establish current regional accessory availability.
Can the ASUS Pad be used as a second monitor?
Yes, through GlideX screen extension with a PC. The reviewer found the wired connection smoother than wireless. This is a PC-integration feature, rather than an indication that the tablet’s own split-screen workflow is especially strong.
Does the ASUS Pad have expandable storage?
The review reports microSD expansion up to 1TB and says the reviewer used a 32GB card. No particular card was tested as a recommendation.

How long does the battery last, and how quickly does it charge?
The review reports around seven to eight hours of screen-on time in typical mixed use, enough for about a full workday, and around 90 minutes to charge fully with the bundled 45W adapter. These are the reviewer’s observations, not results from a standardized battery test; actual runtime depends on workload and settings.

How does it compare with alternatives?
The review discusses these alternatives without presenting a uniform, freshly tested comparison across all models. Treat the tradeoffs below as the reviewer’s observations, not a controlled head-to-head verdict.
| Alternative | Tradeoff described in the review |
|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 FE | The reviewer says it has more mature tablet software, a strong split-screen workflow, an included S Pen and a defined support commitment. The ASUS is described as having the better OLED display and stronger benchmark performance in the review’s comparison. |
| OnePlus Pad Go 2 | Named as another large-screen Android option with capable everyday performance. The review says its LCD cannot match the ASUS OLED and its large-screen software is also imperfect. |
| Apple iPad (11th Gen) | The review says it makes a stronger case for app quality, accessories and ecosystem. The ASUS counters with 144Hz OLED, expandable storage and a more generous hardware package. |
What is the biggest weakness of the ASUS Pad?
Native multitasking is the main concern in the review: split-screen and multi-app use did not feel as straightforward as the display and performance suggest they should. The reviewer also could not find a clear long-term Android and security update commitment. That uncertainty is not proof that ASUS has no commitment; check current ASUS documentation for the relevant region before relying on a support duration.
Should you buy the ASUS Pad T3201?
It is most compelling for someone who prioritizes a high-refresh OLED screen, everyday speed, gaming and expandable storage, and who expects to use the included case and charger. It is less convincing as a productivity-first tablet if effortless native window management is essential. The reviewer also reported that a prerelease software build had UI issues and that an ASUS hotfix resolved most of them; that account should not be treated as a statement about every current build.
