Can Astra Streaming Studio loop a prerecorded video into a continuous YouTube live stream? Its published Google Play listing does not establish that it can. The listing describes live camera and screen streaming, recording, and an MP4 “loop recording” feature—but that wording refers to recording, not replaying uploaded videos. If your goal is a 24/7 prerecorded YouTube stream, do not rely on Astra for that job without current confirmation from its developer.
What Astra Streaming Studio is listed to do
Astra Streaming Studio is presented on Google Play as a mobile app for live streaming, IP-camera use, and video recording. The listing names MIV Dev as the developer and reports its last update as October 31, 2023. Because that listing may not reflect later changes, treat it as a snapshot of published features rather than confirmation of what a current installation supports.

- Streaming protocols including RTMP, RTSP, SRT, and secure RTMP/RTSP variants; SRT caller, listener, and rendezvous modes are also named.
- Saving recordings as MP4, with loop recording.
- Multiple simultaneous connections, front- and rear-camera switching, and screen capture.
- Picture and slideshow overlays, roughly 40 video filters, and switchable broadcast scenes.
Does “loop recording” mean prerecorded-video loop streaming?
No such conclusion is supported by the listing. “Loop recording” appears in the context of saving MP4 recordings. That is different from selecting an existing video or playlist and having the app replay it continuously as the outgoing YouTube live feed.

- UVC to HDMI Conversion: Supporting up to 4K@30fps and 1080p@60fps decoding, ZowieBox enables flexible conversion for webcam and video workflows. As a video decoder and HDMI to IP converter, it expands connectivity options for professional video devices. Note: USB capture card functionality is not currently supported.
- All-around Configuration Options: Control ZowieBox through its web UI on a PC, phone, or tablet. Manage connected PTZ cameras, tally light, video/audio, OSD, work mode, streams, network, and system settings. Support for VISCA over IP encoder workflows enables flexible PTZ control, while the dashboard provides video preview and system status.
The listing does not document prerecorded-file playback, playlist management, continuous replay, or a 24/7 YouTube loop workflow. It therefore cannot substantiate claims that Astra supports those features. Before choosing Astra for that use, ask the developer specifically whether the current version can play a local prerecorded file or playlist as a continuous YouTube live stream, and whether the stream continues when the phone is locked, disconnected, or powered down.
What the listed features suggest—and what they do not
Fits a live camera or screen workflow
Camera switching, real-time screen capture, overlays, filters, scenes, and live-stream protocols point to a mobile production workflow: capture a camera or screen, shape the broadcast, and send the live feed to a destination. Protocol support may be useful when configuring a compatible destination or relay, but the listing alone does not establish the exact current setup screens or destination-specific behavior.
Recording is not playback
MP4 saving with loop recording describes how the app records. It is not evidence that the app can ingest that MP4 later and play it on repeat as a live broadcast. These are separate functions, and the listing does not name the latter.

Continuous operation remains unverified
A phone-based live stream depends on the phone and its network remaining available. The public listing does not establish that Astra can keep a stream running after the device is turned off, nor does it describe automatic recovery if YouTube disconnects the feed. Do not assume those behaviors from the words “loop recording” or “multiple connections.”
YouTube requirements and limits still apply
Astra does not bypass YouTube’s channel eligibility or platform limits. YouTube’s live-streaming help says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions during the preceding 90 days. YouTube identifies mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as streaming methods; eligibility and interface availability can vary by method and account.
YouTube documents a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. These are YouTube platform ceilings, not Astra-specific allowances; they do not promise Astra can originate that many feeds.

Broadcast event and media feed are different pieces
YouTube distinguishes a liveBroadcast—the scheduled or event object—from a liveStream, the configuration for the audio-video feed. A channel can reuse stream settings across scheduled broadcasts, while each broadcast is a distinct event. This distinction matters when troubleshooting: a working encoder or app feed does not by itself confirm that the intended YouTube event is correctly configured.

DVR on very long streams
YouTube says DVR capabilities may be limited or unavailable for live streams longer than 12 hours. That is a caution threshold, not a guarantee that every longer stream loses rewind. If viewers need to seek backward during a continuous broadcast, do not promise full DVR availability; disabling DVR prevents seeking backward while the stream is live, although a recording may still become available afterward. See YouTube’s live-stream DVR guidance.
How to decide whether Astra is suitable
- Choose it for a camera or screen stream only if the current app version supports your destination and the phone-based capture workflow you need.
- Do not select it based on a 24/7 prerecorded-loop claim unless the developer confirms file or playlist playback into YouTube and clarifies how playback and recovery work.
- Check operational details before relying on it: current app version, destination setup, supported output settings, device and network requirements, and whether the stream stops when the app or phone becomes unavailable.
- For YouTube, check the channel first: verify it, confirm there are no live restrictions from the previous 90 days, and account for YouTube’s concurrent-stream limits.
- For a stream exceeding 12 hours, plan around the DVR caveat if viewers need live rewind.

Or let it run in the cloud
For a prerecorded YouTube loop, StreamNeo’s workflow is three steps: upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the stream running without a computer at home; it plays your upload as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot regardless of quality, and can recover automatically if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Each slot includes 10 GB of storage, pooled across active slots. See StreamNeo for details, or start the free first day.

What if the Astra stream does not appear on YouTube?
First confirm the channel is eligible for live streaming and that you are sending to the intended YouTube event and stream configuration. YouTube’s broadcast event and media feed are distinct, so check both sides of the setup. The Astra listing names several output protocols but does not document its current YouTube-specific setup screens; consult the app’s current instructions rather than assuming a particular menu path.
What if the phone disconnects or the app closes?
The public listing does not establish background behavior, reconnection handling, or automatic recovery after a disconnect. Test the exact phone, power, network, and app conditions before scheduling a long broadcast. If uninterrupted playback is essential, use a service whose current documentation explicitly covers cloud operation and recovery.

What if viewers cannot rewind?
For a broadcast longer than 12 hours, YouTube warns DVR may be limited or unavailable. Check the stream’s DVR configuration and set viewer expectations accordingly; this is a YouTube behavior, not evidence of an Astra fault.
Copyright and channel-policy checks
Having the technical ability to send a video live does not establish that you have permission to broadcast it or that it complies with YouTube rules. Use recordings, music, images, and other material you own or are licensed to use for this purpose, and review YouTube’s applicable copyright and monetization policies before scheduling a continuous loop. A loop service does not make reused material automatically eligible for monetization.
