The Asetek WaterChill Xternal kit came with three waterblocks: one for the CPU, one for the chipset, and one for the graphics processor. They connected to the external cooling unit through 3/8-inch tubing. The blocks and socket details described here are those reported in HotHardware’s August 29, 2006 review; they are historical specifications, not guidance for choosing parts for a modern PC.
What blocks came with the WaterChill Xternal?
HotHardware’s review of model 03-L-7004 identifies three included blocks: the Antarctica CPU01 for the processor, the NB01/P1 for the chipset, and the VGA01/P1 for the graphics processor. Each served a different component inside the computer; the external unit alone was not a complete cooling loop without these connections.

CPU: Antarctica CPU01
The bundled CPU block was copper-based and used a twist-screw mount. HotHardware reported support for AMD Socket 754, 939, and 940, and Intel Socket 478, with an adapter for Socket 775. Those are the review’s 2006 compatibility claims. Its reviewer had to remove the motherboard to install the block on a Socket 939 system.

That was a vendor claim relayed by the review, not an independently established performance result.

Chipset: NB01/P1
The copper NB01/P1 attached through the motherboard. That mounting arrangement could be a problem on boards with different chipset-block mounts. HotHardware said the block could be left out of the loop if it did not fit, so the kit did not require every bundled block to be installed.
A separate chipset block would not address motherboard heatpipe assemblies that cool chipset and voltage-regulator areas together. Whether a particular board could use this block cannot be inferred from the product review alone.

Graphics: VGA01/P1
The VGA01/P1 had angled hose connections and occupied two case slots when installed, according to HotHardware. It cooled the GPU, not the graphics-card memory. The review’s author noted the absence of memory heatsinks, but that historical observation does not establish what any specific modern graphics card requires.
How the blocks connected to the external unit
The blocks used 3/8-inch tubing. HotHardware’s main review lists the tubing’s outer diameter as 10 mm (3/8 inch); its waterblock page says the kit included a three-meter hose that the installer cut to fit. The hose length and diameter are specifications reported for the reviewed kit.

Additional waterblocks could be added, but each extra component would reduce flow and add heat for the radiator fans to dissipate, the review cautioned. That means expansion was possible, not consequence-free: the loop’s load and flow changed as blocks were added.

HotHardware reviewed the WaterChill Xternal on August 29, 2006, identifying it as model 03-L-7004. The review’s block names, mount details, and socket list are useful for identifying the historical kit, but they do not verify compatibility with current CPUs, motherboards, or graphics cards. A current product listing, replacement-block supply, and present-day compatibility have not been established.

The review’s broader system specifications include a Black Ice Pro dual 120 mm radiator, four 120 mm Adda fans, a 12 V WaterChill Xtreme pump, a 160 cm³ reservoir, and a 20-character LCD module. It also describes USB-connected software control for status, temperature monitoring, pump-speed regulation, and automatic or adjustable fan control. These are features and specifications reported for the original product, not a current availability or compatibility statement. HotHardware’s archive later noted a 2011 reintroduction of the WaterChill cooler line, which does not establish that this Xternal model remained available.
