Short answer: You can use the same Arknights: Endfield game data on Steam and mobile by linking Steam to your existing Gryphline Account and selecting the server where your character is saved. The main differences are how you prefer to play and what your device supports: Steam offers keyboard and mouse plus configurable PC graphics, while mobile offers touch controls and controller support. Official sources do not establish a universal performance winner or provide comparative battery, temperature, or frame-rate tests.
Does progress carry between Steam and mobile?
Yes, provided both versions use the same Gryphline Account and you select the same server. In its Steam Pioneer Test FAQ published September 15, 2026, the official Arknights: Endfield team says, “The Steam version uses the same game servers and account data as the other platforms.” That means progress can be shared across platforms; it does not mean progress can be moved between servers.

Asia and Americas / Europe server data are separate. If your existing character is on one server, choose that server when you log in on Steam. Selecting another server will not show that character.

Link Steam to an existing account
- On your first Steam login, link your Steam account to a Gryphline Account.
- If you already have a character, sign in with and link the Gryphline Account that holds it rather than creating a different account.
- Select the server where that character is saved.
If your Gryphline Account uses a third-party login, first make sure an email address is linked to it, then use that email to link Steam. If no email is attached, sign in to the account center with the original third-party login and attach an unused email before completing the Steam link. A Gryphline Account registered through Steam can also be used on other supported platforms with its registration email. These account-linking details are from the Steam Pioneer Test notice; access instructions in that notice apply to that limited-access test, not necessarily to general release.

How do controls differ?
Steam supports keyboard and mouse, as well as supported controllers. Mobile supports touch and a documented controller mode, so the choice is less about one platform having controls and the other not, and more about your preferred input and the specific controller features you need.
Touch, keyboard, and mouse
On mobile, touch is available for ordinary play. The official release-preview communication also describes improvements to mobile top-view operation, belt construction, and bulk pipe operations in the AIC factory. On PC, text entry uses a keyboard; mobile uses the system on-screen keyboard.
Using a controller
The official controller FAQ, dated January 20, 2026, lists PlayStation DualSense, DualSense Edge, DUALSHOCK 4, Xbox Wireless Controller, and Xbox Elite Wireless Controller support on PC and mobile. Wired USB and Bluetooth are documented where the controller supports those connections. Third-party controllers may have compatibility issues. For example, an Xbox Wireless Controller is an option if you prefer controller input, but the FAQ does not establish its retail availability or price.

At login, controller input automatically switches the interface to the controller layout. During most gameplay, pressing a controller button prompts a switch to controller input; using the keyboard or tapping the screen can prompt a switch back. Switching is unavailable in some situations, including operator selection or naming, tutorials, character dialogue or story cutscenes, and certain battle scenes or simulations.

| DualSense, DualSense Edge, or DUALSHOCK 4 away from PS5 | The FAQ recommends a wired connection for full functionality. Over Bluetooth, adaptive triggers work, but vibration and the controller speaker do not. |
| Official Xbox controller on PC | Full functionality is supported over Bluetooth or wired connection. |
| Official Xbox controller on mobile over Bluetooth | Vibration and impulse triggers are not supported. |
Vibration and adaptive-trigger settings can be changed at Settings → Controls.
Which platform performs better?
There is no supported blanket verdict. The official materials reviewed do not publish controlled Steam-versus-mobile frame-rate, loading-time, battery-life, or thermal comparisons. Actual performance depends on the PC or mobile device and the settings used, so a PC graphics option or a mobile feature should not be mistaken for proof that one platform will run faster for every player.

What the Steam playtest notice specifies
The September 15, 2026 Steam Pioneer Test notice gives these PC requirements. They are requirements for that limited-access playtest, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate or confirmation of the latest general-release requirements.

PC graphics options and a specific troubleshooting issue
An official release-preview communication says the PC version adds a 120 FPS option. This is a settings option, not a measured average or a guarantee that a particular PC will sustain 120 FPS. The communication also describes NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation for supported hardware, ray tracing in specific scenes on certain iOS devices, and a platform-dependent Device Load or Estimated GPU Memory Usage preview in Settings.

- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
In a February 7, 2026 notice, the official team warned that NVIDIA App optimization may cause blurry graphics or stuttering on some NVIDIA-equipped PCs. Its suggested remedies include reverting the app’s optimization, adjusting DLSS Super Resolution, using TAAU or render scale, and lowering graphics settings to suit the device. This is a specific reported issue, not evidence that NVIDIA hardware generally performs poorly.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which version should you choose?
- Choose Steam if you prefer a PC setup, keyboard and mouse, or the option to tune PC graphics—provided your computer meets the requirements for the version you intend to play.
- Choose mobile if playing on a portable device and using touch controls suits you better, or if you want the documented option of a supported controller on mobile.
- Use both if you want to move between PC and mobile with the same account data. Link the correct account and select the same server on each platform.
These are practical choice criteria, not a claim that one version has better battery life, cooler operation, or higher real-world frame rates. The cited official materials do not compare those outcomes across platforms.
