Instead of Writing Wizard
Writing Wizard alternatives
Writing Wizard gives young learners structured practice tracing letters, numbers, and words. It enforces correct formation while letting adults adjust letter size, difficulty, and model visibility. Children can use animated stickers, sound effects, four letter games, and star rewards. Parents and teachers can add word lists with recorded audio, review tracing reports, export activity, and create printable PDF worksheets. The app has a free plan, paid content and access options, and support for iOS, Android, and Windows.

You may look elsewhere if your learner needs Japanese or Chinese characters, cursive, browser access, or repeated sentence practice. Writing Wizard focuses on early print writing, and its free download does not include every letter or custom word; those require an in-app purchase or subscription. Schools also cannot buy in-app purchases through Apple School Manager or MDM. When switching, weigh age range, writing system, language coverage, offline use, custom-text tools, progress features, worksheet exports, platforms, and recurring versus one-time pricing.
