PDFRedaction is a browser-based service for detecting and permanently removing sensitive information from documents. Its AI detection, analysis and redaction run locally in the browser, and document content, extracted text, PII values and redacted output are not sent to its servers. It detects more than 50 types of personally identifiable information, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, financial identifiers and medical IDs. OCR covers scanned PDFs and image-based documents, while exported PDFs preserve layout. Redaction removes sensitive text and covers it with solid black rectangles. The service also scans PDFs for malicious elements, including scripts and dangerous attachments, and strips them during export. Users can upload a signature image or sign on screen, then position and resize signatures or stamps. Supported inputs include PDFs, common image formats, text and data formats, HTML and Markdown. The Free plan lets registered users process up to 10 documents per day during the launch period; processing pauses at the daily limit. Professional and Enterprise checkout is disabled, so paid access is not currently available.
