OTG Networks vFax

OTG Networks vFax is a cloud fax service for sending and receiving faxes by email or browser, without fax hardware. It is most useful to organizations already on GoOTG that need managed fax numbers and transmission records. The service pairs familiar workflows with number management, though its standalone pricing is less clear than its GoOTG inclusion.

Overview

vFax handles inbound and outbound faxing through email, a browser portal, or mobile apps. Users can get a dedicated local or toll-free number or port an existing number, which helps a business keep its established fax identity while moving away from a physical machine. Incoming faxes arrive as PDF email attachments; outbound email faxing uses a PDF attachment addressed to the recipient's fax number.

The browser portal adds drag-and-drop document sending, fax history, and management of multiple fax numbers. Delivery receipts include a timestamp, page count, and recipient confirmation, a useful record for teams that need to track whether a document reached its destination. Unlimited cloud storage removes a stated storage ceiling.

Key features

OTG says faxes are encrypted in transit and at rest, and identifies role-based access controls and audit logs. It describes vFax as HIPAA compliant and cites 256-bit encryption, full audit logs, and SOC 2 readiness. These features make it relevant to healthcare and other regulated workflows, as well as legal, finance and banking, and real estate teams OTG identifies as users. Organizations still need to assess whether the service fits their own compliance requirements.

OTG's ecosystem includes Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Teams, Zoho CRM, Slack, WhatsApp API, Google Workspace, and Active Directory. Support hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM–8 PM EST, and Saturday, 10 AM–4 PM EST.

Pricing

The vFax plan is free and includes a dedicated local or toll-free number plus sending and receiving faxes. The same inclusion is free on every GoOTG plan, with no extra fees stated. For existing GoOTG customers, that makes vFax a practical way to add faxing without a separate subscription.

The general pricing note starts at $15/user/mo, while the plan breakdown prices Starter at $15 a month, billed month-to-month. Starter includes unlimited calling, voicemail transcription, mobile and desktop apps, basic analytics, and email support. Business costs $29 a month, billed month-to-month, and adds AI-powered call routing, advanced analytics, CRM integrations, call recording, and priority support. These are GoOTG service plans rather than fax-specific quotas, so buyers should distinguish the general starting price from vFax's free inclusion on GoOTG.

Enterprise has custom pricing and includes a dedicated account manager, custom integrations, SLA guarantees, advanced security, and vFax with GoOTG plans. No free plan or trial is offered for vFax. The listed vFax terms do not set page quotas or seat limits.

Platforms

vFax supports Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. Mobile apps and browser access give staff options across phones and computers, while email faxing works through an email client.

Who it's for

vFax is a strong fit for teams already using GoOTG, especially those that need inbound and outbound faxing, dedicated or ported numbers, delivery receipts, and controls intended for sensitive workflows. It is less compelling for a buyer seeking a clearly priced standalone fax service with explicit fax page allowances: the main pricing tiers describe broader GoOTG calling features, not fax volumes.

Pros and cons

• Pro: vFax is included at no extra charge with every GoOTG plan, giving existing customers faxing without a separate stated fee.
• Pro: Local or toll-free numbers, number porting, and multi-number management support organizations with established fax lines.
• Pro: Delivery receipts record time, pages, and recipient confirmation, while unlimited cloud storage avoids a stated storage cap.
• Con: The $15/user/mo starting point and GoOTG plan prices do not establish a standalone fax price, making cost harder to assess for fax-only buyers.
• Con: No fax page quotas or seat limits are stated for the vFax plan, so organizations cannot compare capacity on those terms.

Alternatives

Online Fax Services is a useful place to compare other fax tools. Choose Dropbox Fax (formerly HelloFax) if a free web option for occasional outbound faxing suits you: its free plan provides five outbound pages, with up to 20 more earnable, while receiving requires a paid account. FAX.PLUS offers a free allowance of 10 pages in total, Android, iOS, and web access, and a 30-day free period on paid plans, making it an option for trying faxing across those platforms.

FaxTerra has a free plan with 10 monthly pages to the US and Canada and no credit card requirement, a better match for low-volume domestic sending. GTC Cloud-Fax offers monthly packages of 30 or 100 pages and an API, which may suit a buyer looking for a page-based package or API access. Browserfax provides 20 free pages that do not expire, a useful fit for occasional web faxing without a recurring free-page reset.

GotFreeFax allows two free faxes per day, up to three pages each, to the US and Canada; choose it for small, occasional sends within those limits. FaxSalad costs $10 a month for a global fax number and 150 sent and 150 received pages per month, a fit for buyers who want stated monthly volumes. FaxBurner offers a disposable number, 25 inbound pages per month, and five outbound pages total on its free plan, suited to temporary or limited fax use.

Verdict

Choose vFax if your organization uses GoOTG and wants email and browser faxing, managed numbers, delivery records, and security controls within that service. The included fax plan is its clearest advantage. Look elsewhere if you need a standalone fax subscription with a defined price and page allowance before committing.
