CloudDrive2 connects cloud accounts and mounts them as local disks, with backup, encryption and WebDAV. Supported sources include OneDrive, Google Drive, Aliyun Drive, Baidu, WebDAV and local folders. Mounts support POSIX semantics on Linux and macOS and Windows security descriptors; random writes can happen without downloading the whole file first. The free Basic tier allows up to two cloud drives and one local mount, without Core Pro features. Paid Core plans offer unlimited cloud drives and mounts. The app also connects to Emby and Jellyfin, with a companion plugin for both; App Pro unlocks playback features including HDR and Dolby Vision, DSD, ISO disc playback, AI subtitle translation and VR video. CloudDrive2 includes a WebDAV server, and paid membership enables separate WebDAV users with individual root directories and read-only settings. Its gRPC API has over 200 RPC methods, and tokens can be limited by permission and expiry. The maker says account details are encrypted with the user's password and only a password hash is stored on the server.

Freedom251 review

CloudDrive2: the full review

CloudDrive2 combines cloud mounting, backup and WebDAV with integrations for media servers and an API. Check the Basic tier's drive and mount limits, and the separate membership features, against your needs.

Overview

CloudDrive2 is a cloud-storage connector that mounts supported accounts as local disks and adds backup, encryption and WebDAV. It suits people who want cloud storage to work with desktop software, NAS setups or media servers, rather than a standalone file browser. Basic is a useful starting point, but its two-drive and one-mount ceiling makes the paid tiers important for broader setups.

Key features

Mounts, WebDAV and automation

CloudDrive2 supports Aliyun Drive, Baidu, 115, Tianyi, 123 Pan, OneDrive, Google Drive, Xunlei, WebDAV and local folders. Its mounts support POSIX semantics on Linux and macOS and Windows security descriptors on Windows. Random writes do not require downloading the entire file first, a practical advantage for software that edits only part of a large cloud file.

The built-in WebDAV server extends mounted storage to compatible clients. Paid membership adds separate WebDAV users with individual root directories and read-only settings, useful for separating access without giving every user the same scope. The gRPC API has more than 200 RPC methods, and tokens can be limited by permissions and expiry, making it relevant to automation and custom integrations.

Security, media and deployment

The maker says account details are encrypted with the user's password and only a password hash is stored on the server. Its encrypted filesystem encrypts filenames with AES and file contents with chacha20-poly1305 before cloud storage. Monthly and yearly members face a 200 MB per-file cloud-upload limit; Core Lifetime is exempt, a meaningful distinction for large encrypted uploads.

CloudDrive2 connects with Emby and Jellyfin and offers a companion plugin for both. App Pro adds HDR and Dolby Vision, DSD and ISO playback, AI subtitle translation, Emby/Jellyfin client features and VR video. Those extras are valuable to media users, but they are separate from Core membership. NAS support includes Synology, QNAP, Unraid and fnOS; the Docker image covers amd64, arm64 and armv7. Setup help includes a guide, Telegram group and GitHub Issues link.

Pricing

The free Basic tier costs 0.00 CNY per free and allows two cloud drives and one local mount. It also states a two-device online cap, though that limit is not enforced yet, and excludes Core Pro features. It is best for a small trial setup, not a growing collection of accounts.

Core Monthly is 4.99 CNY per month, billed ¥4.99 / month; Core Yearly is 49.99 CNY per year, billed ¥49.99 / year. Both provide unlimited clouds and local mounts, up to five devices online at once (not enforced yet), and Core Pro features. The yearly plan is the longer commitment for users who expect to keep the service; both retain the 200 MB encrypted-upload limit.

Core Lifetime Lite costs 199.00 CNY per once, billed ¥199 once. It removes the drive and mount caps and allows up to five devices online at once (not enforced yet), but excludes Core Pro features; it can be upgraded to full Lifetime. Core Lifetime costs 499.00 CNY per once, billed ¥499 once, includes Core Pro features and removes the encrypted-upload limit. Accessibility Lifetime is 499299.00 CNY per once, billed ¥499¥299 once, with the same features as Core Lifetime; request a code using visual-disability certificate details.

App Pro is 19.99 USD per once, billed USD $19.99 in every store, for the playback and media features above. Ultimate Bundle is 79.99 USD per once, billed USD $79.99 in every store, and combines Core Lifetime with App Pro. These are the relevant choices for users who want the client and playback tools as well as the cloud core; App Pro alone does not add the Core membership benefits.

Platforms

CloudDrive2 supports Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, iOS and a web UI, with NAS and Docker support as well. The range suits mixed desktop, mobile and self-hosted environments.

Who it's for

Choose CloudDrive2 if you want cloud accounts mounted as local disks, need WebDAV or API integration, or plan to connect storage to an Emby or Jellyfin setup. It is less compelling if you need only a basic sync tool, or if the Basic tier's drive and mount caps are too restrictive and you do not want a paid membership.

Pros and cons

  • Pros: Broad cloud-source support, local-disk mounts and random writes make it useful beyond simple cloud browsing.
  • Pros: WebDAV, scoped API tokens and NAS/Docker options accommodate integrations and self-hosted deployments.
  • Pros: Encrypted storage and a Core Lifetime option without the 200 MB upload limit give heavier users a clear upgrade path.
  • Cons: Basic is capped at two cloud drives and one local mount, and excludes Core Pro features.
  • Cons: Monthly and yearly members remain subject to the 200 MB per-file encrypted-upload limit.
  • Cons: App Pro is a separate purchase unless choosing Ultimate Bundle, so media playback extras increase the total cost.

Alternatives

Consider rclone instead if a free, open-source option across Android, Linux, macOS, Windows, web and self-hosted platforms fits your needs. FolderSync is another freemium option, particularly for Android users. GoodSync is worth comparing if you need its workstation or server licensing: Workstation is 49.95 USD per year for one workstation, while Server is 499.95 USD per year. Air Explorer may suit a narrower transfer workflow: its free BASIC plan allows one account per cloud, read-only cloud-to-cloud sync or transfer, and two simultaneous downloads and uploads.

Cyberduck, ExpanDrive, WebDAV Navigator and Air Live Drive are other alternatives to compare.

For compatible WebDAV clients, see WebDAV Client Software.

Verdict

CloudDrive2 is a strong fit for users who need mounted cloud storage plus WebDAV, API access or media-server integration across desktop and self-hosted systems. Its breadth is the main reason to choose it; the Basic caps, separate App Pro purchase and 200 MB encrypted-upload limit on recurring plans are the main reasons to look elsewhere or budget for a different tier.
