AppleCare+ generally protects one Apple product per plan; AppleCare One groups multiple eligible products under one subscription. AppleCare One’s Individual plan starts at $19.99 per month for up to three products, while its Family plan is $49.99 per month for eligible devices used by up to six people in a Family Sharing group. Both plan choices depend on the devices you own, the protection you need, and the fees you would pay when making a claim.

The prices and terms below are from Apple’s U.S. materials, current as of October 2026. Availability, prices, service fees, and insurance terms can vary by country; check the terms shown at purchase.

How AppleCare One and AppleCare+ are structured

AppleCare+ covers one product

Apple describes AppleCare+ as coverage for one product. Its price varies by product and model, so there is no single AppleCare+ price that applies to every device. AppleCare+ includes hardware service and technical support, as well as unlimited accidental-damage incidents per covered device under Apple’s legal summary. Apple’s plan overview and legal overview explain the coverage.

AppleCare One combines eligible products

AppleCare One covers multiple eligible Apple products under one subscription and includes AppleCare+ benefits. Individual covers up to three products at its advertised starting price, with additional products available for a monthly fee. Family covers eligible devices for up to six people in a Family Sharing group. See Apple’s current plan overview for its advertised structure and pricing.

U.S. plan prices and what they mean

Plan Advertised U.S. price Structure
AppleCare+ Varies by product and model; Apple’s overview does not give one universal price. One product per plan.
AppleCare One Individual $19.99 per month starting price for up to three products; $5.99 per month for each additional product. Multiple eligible products under one subscription.
AppleCare One Family $49.99 per month. Eligible devices for up to six people in a Family Sharing group.

Apple’s 2025 launch announcement gave an example of saving up to $11 per month by covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch together rather than enrolling them in separate plans. That was Apple’s example at launch, not a guaranteed current saving for every device combination. Compare the current price of separate plans for your specific models with the AppleCare One subscription price. Apple’s July 2025 announcement describes the example.

What theft-and-loss coverage includes

AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss are not interchangeable: theft-and-loss is an additional AppleCare+ plan variant. Apple’s legal overview says AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss allows up to two theft-or-loss incidents every 12 months. AppleCare One includes theft-and-loss coverage for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Apple’s legal overview lists the AppleCare+ limit and coverage categories.

Apple’s current storefront advertises up to three annual theft-and-loss claims for AppleCare One Individual and six for Family, while its legal overview describes up to three incidents every 12 months. Because those statements do not establish the same Family ceiling, confirm the applicable current terms before relying on a particular claim limit. The storefront and legal overview are the relevant references.

Service fees still apply to claims

A subscription does not mean every repair or replacement is free. Apple publishes service fees by device and claim type. As U.S. examples, its fee schedule lists $29 for iPhone screen or back-glass damage, $99 for other accidental iPhone damage, and $149 for iPhone theft or loss. These amounts are examples, not universal fees; the charge depends on the covered device and incident. Check Apple’s fee schedule for the applicable claim.

Can you add devices you already own?

At AppleCare One’s July 2025 launch, Apple said eligible devices up to four years old and in good condition could be added. That does not mean every device within that age range qualifies: check the specific device’s eligibility when enrolling. Apple’s launch announcement describes the eligibility terms announced at the time.

Which plan makes sense for your situation?

Choose AppleCare+ when you want coverage for one device

If you are protecting a single product, AppleCare+ has the straightforward one-product structure. Compare the price for your model and whether you need the Theft and Loss variant; do not assume standard AppleCare+ includes theft-and-loss coverage.

Rank #4
Apple iPhone 13, 128GB, Midnight - Unlocked (Renewed)
  • This pre-owned product is not Apple certified, but has been professionally inspected, tested and cleaned by Amazon-qualified suppliers.
  • There will be no visible cosmetic imperfections when held at an arm’s length.
  • This product is eligible for a replacement or refund within 90 days of receipt if you are not satisfied.
  • Product may come in generic Box.

Consider AppleCare One Individual when you have several eligible devices

Individual may suit someone covering multiple products under one subscription, especially if the combined monthly price compares favorably with the separate model-specific plans. Include any additional-product fees and likely service fees in that comparison.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Consider Family for devices used by a Family Sharing group

Family is structured for eligible devices used by up to six people in a Family Sharing group. Compare its flat monthly price with the separate coverage you would otherwise buy, and verify the claim limit in the terms that apply to your enrollment.

A practical way to compare before enrolling

  1. List the devices. Note each product and model, and whether it is eligible for the plan you are considering.
  2. Decide which need theft-and-loss protection. AppleCare One includes it for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch; AppleCare+ requires the Theft and Loss variant for that protection.
  3. Compare current monthly costs. Use Apple’s price for each specific AppleCare+ plan against the AppleCare One price, including $5.99 per month for each Individual product beyond the first three.
  4. Check claim costs and limits. Review the fee for the repair or replacement you might need and confirm the applicable theft-and-loss incident limit in the terms at purchase.
  5. Verify enrollment eligibility. For devices you already own, check the actual device rather than relying solely on the age and condition criteria Apple announced at launch.

Apple’s U.S. terms and prices are not a complete international comparison, and the published information does not establish which plan is best value for every household. Local pricing and terms shown during purchase should govern your decision.
