Apple Music 7.0 for Android is reported to be in beta with a visual refresh inspired by Apple’s Liquid Glass design language. The clearest changes are a floating, slightly translucent bottom navigation bar and a mini-player that sits separately above it. The update is not confirmed as a stable release, and the available reporting does not establish when it will reach all users.
What changes in Apple Music 7.0 for Android?
9to5Google’s September 30, 2026 report describes a broader interface refresh, with the most visible differences in navigation, Library controls and artist pages. Apple’s Google Play listing does not provide detailed 7.0 Android release notes, so these interface details are attributed to that report.

- Floating navigation: The bottom navigation bar has a modest translucent appearance and floats over the app content.
- Separate mini-player: The mini-player is no longer visually joined to the navigation bar; it appears as a separate element above it.
- Updated page controls: Page titles and overflow menus are grouped together at the top. Overflow controls sit in circular containers.
- Library options: The Library overflow menu includes “Edit Pins” and “Edit Categories.”
- Artist pages: Artist screens use backgrounds based on cover imagery, give the play button greater prominence, move artist information higher, and place sharing at the top right.
- Settings and system bars: Settings groups have been refreshed, and the report describes edge-to-edge status and navigation bars.
- Now Playing: The report says this screen has no major redesign.
How does the Android navigation compare with iOS?
The reported Android navigation bar stays expanded as users scroll. 9to5Google contrasts this with iOS, where the bar collapses while scrolling. That is a specific difference in behavior, even though both designs draw on Apple’s broader Liquid Glass visual direction.
Liquid Glass is Apple’s name for translucent, responsive controls that sit above content and can recede or return so the content has more room. Apple describes that design approach in its WWDC 2025 Platforms State of the Union. It provides context for the Android redesign, not evidence that Android behaves identically to Apple’s operating systems.

How to get the Apple Music 7.0 beta
9to5Google reports that users can sign up through the Apple Music Play Store listing or its linked beta enrollment page. Enrollment is the reported route; it does not guarantee that every user can join immediately.
- Open the Apple Music listing on Google Play.
- Look for the beta enrollment option or linked enrollment page and follow the signup steps shown there.
- If enrollment is available for your account, use Google Play to install or update the app.
The report says beta testing usually lasts a few weeks, but that is not a schedule Apple has promised for this release. The sources reviewed do not establish a stable-release date.

Apple’s Play Store listing showed an update date of September 22, 2026 when accessed on October 2, 2026. It describes Apple Music generally and warns that availability and features vary by country, region, plan or device. It does not confirm that beta enrollment is open to every Android user.

What the redesign does—and does not—say about Apple Music
The visual update does not change the meaning of Apple Music’s separate audio features. Apple’s Play Store listing says it offers “Over 100 million songs,” and notes: “Hi-Res Lossless requires external equipment such as a USB digital to analog converter.” That equipment requirement applies to Hi-Res Lossless playback, not the 7.0 interface redesign.
Google Play showed 100M+ downloads when accessed on October 2, 2026. That is a changing store counter, not a measure of adoption or impact for this beta redesign.
