The iPhone 18 Pro and OPPO Reno16 5G are aimed at different priorities, and there is no reliable single price gap to quote without choosing a market. Apple’s announced U.S. starting price for the 256GB iPhone 18 Pro is $1,199; OPPO’s published Reno16 prices are for India, in rupees. The cited models also differ in software, charging, and camera hardware, while OPPO warns that Reno16 specifications and availability vary by region.
Price difference: why the market matters
Apple announced the iPhone 18 Pro at $1,199 in the United States for 256GB on September 9, 2026. Apple also lists 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB capacities.

OPPO’s India launch announcement on July 2, 2026, set these prices for the Reno16 5G, with sales starting July 9:
| OPPO Reno16 5G configuration | India launch price | India store price as at August 31, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| 8GB + 256GB | ₹61,999 | ₹66,999 |
| 12GB + 256GB | ₹67,999 | ₹72,999 |
The launch prices are from OPPO India’s July 2 announcement; the later store figures are OPPO India prices stated as correct on August 31, 2026, and subject to change. These are different countries, currencies, dates, and configurations. They do not establish a like-for-like price difference, and converting the rupee prices would not make them equivalent to U.S. pricing. Check official local prices for both exact models and storage variants before comparing.

Specifications at a glance
This table compares Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro specifications with the India-market OPPO Reno16 5G. OPPO sells region-specific Reno16 variants, so these Reno16 details should not be assumed to apply to every country.
| Specification | Apple iPhone 18 Pro | OPPO Reno16 5G, India model |

Apple’s display, camera, battery, and IP68 details are in its iPhone 18 Pro technical specifications. OPPO India’s display, camera, battery, charging, and resistance details are in its Reno16 Series announcement. OPPO Global notes that pricing, regional availability, and release timing vary by market, and says the series carries IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings. Check the specific regional model rather than treating the series-wide description as a guarantee for every Reno16.

Which differences are most useful when choosing?
Camera hardware and focal lengths
Both cited phones list three high-resolution rear cameras. The iPhone 18 Pro has a variable-aperture main camera and a 4x telephoto; the India Reno16 lists a 3.5x telephoto. Those are hardware specifications, not proof that one phone takes better photos or video. The choice depends on your preferred focal lengths, camera controls, video features, and how each phone performs in your own use.
Apple says the iPhone’s 48MP Fusion Main camera now has variable aperture and that the Camera app offers new Pro controls. That describes Apple’s announced capabilities, not an independent comparison with OPPO.

- Please check with your carrier to verify compatibility.
- Tested for battery health and guaranteed to have a minimum battery capacity of 80%.
Software and AI features
The iPhone runs iOS 27 and includes Apple Intelligence and Siri AI features in Apple’s launch material. The India Reno16 runs ColorOS 16 based on Android. AI availability can depend on language, region, and software version, so check which specific features are enabled where you live before making them a deciding factor.
Battery claims versus capacity and charging
Apple’s “up to 36 hours” figure is a video-playback claim for the eSIM-only iPhone 18 Pro, not a directly comparable battery-capacity figure or a promise of typical daily use. OPPO publishes a 6,700mAh typical capacity and 80W charging for the India Reno16; it warns that battery capacity and charging can vary by market. These different types of specifications do not establish which lasts longer in practice.
Durability and regional model details
Apple specifies IP68 under IEC 60529, with a maximum depth of 6 metres for up to 30 minutes. OPPO’s India Reno16 announcement lists IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K, while its global series page describes IP68/IP69/IP69K ratings. Because regional variants can differ, check the rating and warranty for the exact phone sold in your country.

Quick Recap
How to make the comparison for your country
- Confirm the exact models. Identify whether the OPPO listing is Reno16 5G, Reno16c, or another regional version; do not assume the family name means identical hardware.
- Compare official local prices. Match storage and memory configurations, and check whether the quoted amount is a launch price or a current store price.
- Check locally available features. Verify the software features, network/eSIM configuration, charging equipment, water-resistance rating, and warranty for each local model.
- Choose by your priorities. Consider iOS versus ColorOS/Android, the listed camera focal lengths and controls, and charging needs. The specifications alone do not settle real-world camera quality, speed, battery life, or durability.
