The India-market OPPO Reno16 5G (model CPH2865) has newer published hardware, a 120Hz display, three 50MP rear cameras with 3.5x optical zoom, and an advertised 6700mAh typical battery with 80W charging. The iPhone 13 is a 2021 6.1-inch OLED phone with Apple’s A15 Bionic chip and two 12MP rear cameras. Those specifications make the Reno16 more versatile on paper, but they do not establish a real-world performance or image-quality winner. Price depends on country, configuration and date; OPPO’s own India pages show different prices for the same configurations.
Which phone is better?
Choose based on what you value, not the model year alone. The India-spec Reno16 5G offers a larger, higher-refresh-rate screen, a dedicated telephoto camera, and much faster stated charging. The iPhone 13 is the more compact option in this comparison and belongs to Apple’s iOS ecosystem. Published specifications alone cannot establish which is faster in everyday use, takes better photos, or lasts longer between charges.

Display: larger and smoother on the Reno16
The iPhone 13’s 6.1-inch OLED has a resolution of 2532 × 1170 and a 460 ppi density. OPPO gives the India Reno16 a 16.05cm AMOLED panel at 2640 × 1216, also 460 ppi, with a stated 120Hz refresh rate. The listed figures indicate that the Reno16 can refresh more frequently; they do not by themselves establish differences in colour accuracy, outdoor readability or perceived quality.
Brightness figures need their stated conditions: Apple lists 800 nits as typical maximum and 1200 nits as HDR peak; OPPO lists 600 nits typical and 1800 nits HBM. These different labels should not be treated as a direct brightness test under identical conditions.
Cameras: more focal-length options on the Reno16, not a proven image-quality win
The main hardware difference is the Reno16’s dedicated telephoto camera. Its India configuration lists three 50MP rear cameras, including 3.5x optical zoom; the iPhone 13 has a dual 12MP wide-and-ultrawide system and relies on digital zoom for reach beyond its main and ultrawide cameras. If you often photograph distant subjects, the Reno16’s optical telephoto gives you a camera option the iPhone 13 does not list.

- Up to 19 hours video playback. Face ID. Ceramic Shield front. Aerospace-grade aluminum
Megapixel counts and lens specifications do not determine which phone produces better photos or video. The cited specifications are not a matched camera test, so they cannot settle detail, colour, low-light performance, video quality or consistency. The iPhone 13’s listed main camera has sensor-shift optical image stabilisation; OPPO lists 2-axis OIS for the India Reno16’s wide and telephoto cameras.
Performance and software: specifications do not establish a speed winner
Apple lists the A15 Bionic with a 6-core CPU, 4-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine. OPPO lists a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 with an 8-core CPU and Adreno 722 GPU for the India Reno16. Core counts and component names are not directly comparable performance measurements. No matched benchmark or real-world performance test is established here, and no dated claim about remaining software support for either exact regional device is established.
The platform difference may matter more than the chip labels: iPhone 13 runs iOS, while the Reno16 is an OPPO Android phone. Consider the apps, services and devices you already use when choosing between them.

Battery and charging: capacity is not the same as endurance
OPPO specifies a 6700mAh typical battery (6490mAh rated) and 80W SUPERVOOC charging for the India CPH2865. Apple’s cited iPhone 13 specification page provides video-playback test information but does not state battery capacity in mAh in the surfaced specifications. Capacity alone cannot prove which phone lasts longer: real endurance depends on workload, settings, network conditions and testing method. The stated charging figures also do not amount to a matched charging-time test.

Apple lists iPhone 13 as IP68 under IEC 60529, with a maximum depth of 6m for up to 30 minutes. OPPO India lists IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings for its Reno16 5G. Ratings should not be read as a promise that either phone is damage-proof; the stated conditions and regional product documentation matter.
SIM, eSIM, NFC and network support can change by market. The India Reno16 details say the model has dual Nano-SIM and no eSIM or NFC. Japan’s official announcement identifies CPH2865 but describes a Japan-specific configuration and Nano-SIM/eSIM arrangements, illustrating why an India specification should not be assumed for an imported or locally sold unit elsewhere. For the exact phone you plan to buy, confirm its regional model code, SIM arrangement and carrier-band compatibility against the seller and your mobile operator. OPPO’s Spain specification page also lists a different storage and battery configuration, reinforcing the need to use the country-specific page rather than combine regional specifications. To find the actual difference for your purchase, compare live prices in your country for the same date and clearly identified storage configurations. The iPhone 13’s listed storage options are 128GB, 256GB and 512GB; the cited India Reno16 configurations are both 256GB, with different RAM. The dated company prices above do not establish today’s street price, current iPhone availability or a like-for-like price gap.
Who should choose each phone?
Consider the OPPO Reno16 5G if
- You want a stated 120Hz display and the India model’s larger panel.
- You value a dedicated 3.5x optical telephoto and three rear cameras on paper.
- The stated 80W charging and battery capacity suit your priorities, while recognising that neither establishes tested endurance.
- You are buying the India CPH2865 and have verified the exact configuration and current local price.
Consider the iPhone 13 if
- You prefer a 6.1-inch phone and already rely on iOS or Apple services.
- You want a model with listed storage options from 128GB through 512GB.
- You are comparing a verified local listing and understand that Apple’s 2021 launch price is historical, not a current quote.
The practical comparison is not simply “newer versus older.” It is a choice between the iPhone 13’s Apple platform and the Reno16’s India-specific published display, camera and charging hardware, with current local price and compatibility checked before purchase.
