How much storage does Apple HomeView have?
Apple has not published a built-in storage capacity for HomeView. The October 13, 2026 launch information names the A18 processor, 7-inch display, camera, microphones, speakers, sensors and operating-system features, but it does not list a GB capacity, storage tier or upgrade option. Treat storage as undisclosed, not as a small, standard or expandable amount.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
This matters because a smart display can use storage for system software, app data, cached media, photos or camera-related data. Without an official capacity, you cannot reliably estimate how many apps, offline files or local recordings it will hold. Apple also has not established that users can add a memory card or replace internal storage, so do not purchase accessories on the assumption that either option exists.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
iCloud is not a storage specification
HomeView can privately synchronize Siri conversation history across Apple devices through iCloud. That feature describes account-based continuity, not the amount of flash storage inside HomeView. An iCloud+ plan likewise should not be treated as an upgrade to HomeView’s hardware capacity. If local photo, video or recording storage is important to your decision, wait for Apple to publish a capacity and supported workflows rather than inferring one from iCloud.
Tabletop or wall-mounted: which HomeView should you buy?
The two versions have the same $299 starting price in the United States, so location and installation—not storage—are the main differentiators.
| Model | Best location | Available colors | Mounting and installation | Starting price |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tabletop HomeView | Counter, nightstand or side table | Silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray | Tabletop placement; no wall installation required | $299 in the U.S. |
| Wall-mounted HomeView | Entryway or hallway | Space gray and silver | Requires a separate purpose-built mount; mounting hardware is not included in the device price | $299 in the U.S. |
Choose the tabletop model when
- You want to move the display between rooms or change its viewing angle.
- A counter, nightstand or side table already has a power outlet and enough depth.
- You want to avoid drilling, cable routing and installation labor.
- You expect to use the 12MP Center Stage camera for calls and want to reposition the screen easily.
A stainless-steel hinge tilts the tabletop display. That hinge is useful when the screen is below eye level or shared by people standing and sitting at different distances. HomeView presents simpler information when viewed from farther away and richer detail up close, so a flexible tabletop position can make that behavior more useful.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Choose the wall-mounted model when
- The display belongs in a fixed entryway or hallway for quick home controls, timers, weather and communications.
- You prefer a clear counter or nightstand and will not need to move the device regularly.
- You are prepared to buy a compatible mount and confirm that the wall, wiring and outlet location support it.
- You accept that installation may add cost and that the wall model’s $299 price excludes mounting hardware.
A wall location can make Home controls visible as people enter or leave, but it gives you less flexibility if the camera’s framing, screen glare or viewing height is wrong. Decide the viewing height and cable route before ordering the mount.
Budget for the wall-mounted installation
Apple lists three Power Mount options for the wall model. The first two are available at the listed U.S. prices; the Power Mount PoE Wired option is planned for early 2027.
| Accessory | U.S. price | Timing or connection |
|---|---|---|
| Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector | From $59.95 | Wall power through a USB-C wall connector |
| Power Mount AC Wired | From $79.95 | AC-wired installation |
| Power Mount PoE Wired | $129.95 | Planned for early 2027 |
Those figures are accessory prices, not an installed total. A simple planning formula is $299 device + selected mount + any installation labor. Apple says ADT professional installation is available in most areas, but labor pricing depends on the property and location. Confirm the mount, electrical work and labor quote before treating the wall model as a $299 purchase.

Wall-mount preparation checklist
- Choose the wall and mark a height that keeps the 7-inch screen readable without blocking normal traffic.
- Locate an outlet or suitable wiring path and check whether the selected Power Mount matches that connection.
- Confirm the mount is purpose-built for the wall-mounted HomeView model; the device price does not include mounting hardware.
- Account for the Center Stage camera’s field of view and avoid pointing it at a doorway or area where people would not expect video calling.
- If you do not perform electrical or wall work yourself, obtain an installation quote before ordering.
Display, controls and everyday viewing
HomeView uses a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone. Adaptive brightness ranges from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits, allowing a bright daytime presentation and a much dimmer night-time screen. The interface is designed to simplify information at a distance and show richer detail up close, which suits a display that people may glance at while walking past and then use directly for a timer, message or Home control.
For a tabletop installation, use the stainless-steel hinge to aim the display toward the main seating or work position. For a wall installation, spend more time on height and glare because the screen cannot be casually tilted or moved after installation.
Shared household profiles and privacy boundaries
HomeView recognizes up to six people. Each enrolled person receives a personalized Home Screen with their own apps and widgets while personal content remains separate. This is the central distinction between HomeView and a generic always-shared dashboard: the same physical display can present different information to different household members.
What enrolled members need
- Each person needs an Apple Account.
- Each person needs a current compatible iPhone or iPad for the full personalized experience.
- The household can enroll up to six people.
Guests and unrecognized users can still control accessories, check weather, set timers and play music. They should not be expected to receive the same personalized Home Screen as an enrolled member. Before inviting someone to enroll, decide which Apple Account and compatible device they will use so calendars, messages and other personal context are associated with the correct person.
Siri AI, Apple Intelligence and personal context
Siri AI on HomeView provides broad world knowledge and conversational interaction. It can answer general questions and handle voice-oriented household tasks without requiring every user to navigate menus.
Recommended Free Tools
With a compatible Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad, Siri can use personal context from apps such as Calendar and Messages. Conversations can continue in the Siri app through iCloud synchronization across Apple devices. This continuity is account-based: it does not turn iCloud into HomeView’s internal storage, and it depends on the compatible iPhone or iPad being available for the personalized Apple Intelligence experience.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Set expectations before buying
- General Siri AI use and personalized Apple Intelligence context are related but not identical capabilities.
- Personal context depends on a compatible Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad and the person’s Apple Account.
- Household guests can use basic controls without receiving another person’s personalized content.
- Availability and language vary by region, so a HomeView purchased in one country may not offer the same Siri experience everywhere.
Audio, video and communication features
Music and listening
Apple describes two full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer, passive radiators, computational audio and Spatial Audio. HomeView supports Apple Music, Podcasts, News, Apple TV and compatible third-party audio and video apps. It also supports Handoff and multiroom audio with HomePod and AirPlay speakers.
That combination makes HomeView a useful kitchen or living-area media endpoint, not merely a voice-control panel. If you already use HomePod or AirPlay speakers, consider whether you want HomeView to be the local screen, the playback destination or part of a multiroom group.
FaceTime, Messages and Intercom
FaceTime uses a 12MP Center Stage camera to keep participants framed during a call. Messages can be read and answered by voice or keyboard. Intercom can broadcast to HomeView, HomePod and personal Apple devices, which is useful for household announcements without calling every person individually.
For calls, place the tabletop model where faces are naturally visible and where the display can be tilted toward the seating area. For a wall model, verify the camera angle before finalizing the mount position.
Home control and accessory compatibility
The Home app brings compatible accessories, automations, cameras and scenes together on HomeView. Apple says thousands of accessories work and recommends looking for the Works with Apple Home logo. Categories include cameras, locks, sensors, lights and thermostats.
Check an accessory before ordering
- Confirm the exact model carries Works with Apple Home labeling and supports the controls you need.
- Check whether it requires a bridge, hub, wired connection or separate subscription.
- Verify Matter or HomeKit support where relevant, rather than assuming every product in a category has the same integration.
- Confirm regional availability, electrical requirements and language support.
- Check whether automations, camera viewing and remote access require additional Apple equipment or account settings.
Compatibility is a property of the specific accessory and its required hub, not just its brand category. A camera may work for live viewing but lack a desired automation; a lock may require a bridge; a sensor may expose only some data to Home. Read the exact model’s requirements before planning a whole-home installation.

Do you need an iPhone to use HomeView?
You need an iPhone with iOS 27.2 or later, or an iPad with iPadOS 27.2 or later, to set up HomeView. The full personalized experience also requires each household member to have an Apple Account and a current compatible iPhone or iPad.
Practical setup sequence
- Update the setup iPhone or iPad to iOS 27.2 or iPadOS 27.2, or later.
- Place the tabletop unit on its intended surface, or complete the wall installation and power connection before beginning software setup.
- Use the on-screen setup flow to associate HomeView with the household’s Apple Account and Home environment.
- Enroll up to six household members, making sure each person uses the intended Apple Account and compatible iPhone or iPad.
- Add compatible accessories through the Home app, then test scenes, automations, camera views and audio playback from the location where HomeView will be used.
- Test guest behavior so visitors can control accessories, check weather, set timers and play music without receiving an enrolled member’s personalized Home Screen.
If you do not own a qualifying iPhone or iPad, HomeView is not a self-contained purchase: the stated setup requirement means you should not buy it expecting to configure it independently from an Apple mobile device.

Apple announced HomeView on October 13, 2026, opened preorders the same day and set availability for November 13, 2026 in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand and Singapore. South Africa receives availability through authorized resellers.
Apple says HomeView is not available for sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU. Do not assume that importing a unit into the EU will provide the same supported experience or sales support as an approved market.
Siri AI is listed in English for the United States, Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the United Kingdom. Canadian French is planned through a software update. Language availability is therefore a purchase consideration, especially for a multilingual household or anyone expecting Canadian French at launch.

What to verify before checkout
- Storage expectations: Accept that Apple has not stated a capacity or tier. Do not use an invented GB figure to choose a model.
- Placement: Pick tabletop for flexibility and wall-mounted for a fixed entryway or hallway installation.
- Installed cost: Add the $59.95 USB-C Wall Connector, $79.95 AC Wired mount or planned $129.95 PoE Wired mount to the wall model, plus any labor.
- Power and mounting: Confirm the wall’s wiring, outlet position and compatible purpose-built mount.
- Apple device: Have an iPhone on iOS 27.2 or later or an iPad on iPadOS 27.2 or later.
- Household accounts: Prepare Apple Accounts and compatible iPhones or iPads for up to six personalized members.
- Accessories: Check Works with Apple Home labeling, bridge or hub needs, Matter or HomeKit support and regional operation for each exact model.
- Camera position: Check Center Stage framing and whether the chosen location fits your household’s privacy expectations.
- Region and language: Confirm sales status and Siri AI language support in your country before importing or preordering.
Common buying mistakes and how to avoid them
Assuming iCloud means more local storage
iCloud conversation synchronization is a continuity feature. It does not establish HomeView’s internal capacity or make an iCloud+ plan a hardware-storage upgrade.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Comparing the models by price alone
Both versions start at $299 in the United States, but the wall model requires a separate mount and may require installation. Compare the complete installed cost and the permanence of the location.
Buying accessories by category instead of model
“Works with Apple Home” does not guarantee identical automation, camera or remote-control features across every product. Verify the exact model, bridge, wiring and regional support.
Expecting personalization without an Apple mobile device
HomeView requires an iPhone or iPad for setup, and each personalized member needs a compatible device and Apple Account. A household without those devices should not expect the full experience.
Ignoring regional Siri restrictions
HomeView is not sold in the European Union under the stated launch conditions because Siri AI is unavailable in iOS there. Language support is also market-specific, with Canadian French planned by software update rather than listed as a launch language.
Bottom line: buy for the location, not an assumed storage number
HomeView is a shared 7-inch Apple home hub whose storage capacity remains undisclosed. The tabletop model is the straightforward choice for movable, no-installation use. The wall-mounted model makes sense when an entryway or hallway deserves a permanent control point and you have budgeted for the required mount and possible labor. In either case, confirm the iPhone or iPad requirement, household Apple Accounts, accessory compatibility and regional Siri availability before ordering.
