Bloomberg reports that Apple may introduce OLED touchscreen MacBook Pro models and a new OLED iPad mini on or around October 27, 2026. Apple has not confirmed the event, the date, the products or their specifications, so these remain reported expectations—not announced products.
What is reportedly coming, and when?
MacRumors, summarizing Bloomberg, says Apple could make the announcements “on or around” Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The reported launch may also include an M6 iMac and a separate, entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro. These are distinct from the higher-end touchscreen MacBook Pro models; reports do not establish a single confirmed product lineup. (MacRumors; 9to5Mac)

The reports describe a presentation with an online video and an in-person press component. That format, like the date, has not been confirmed by Apple. 9to5Mac characterizes the higher-end MacBook Pro launch as aimed at creative professionals working in video, photo and music production; that is reported positioning, not evidence of performance or an Apple-confirmed marketing claim.
What changes are reported for the MacBook Pro?
OLED touchscreens and Dynamic Island
Both reports describe 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with OLED displays, touch capability and Dynamic Island. MacRumors also reports that the models would be thinner and lighter than current MacBook Pro models. Apple has not confirmed the design or how touch input or Dynamic Island would work on a Mac.

Chip details are not consistent across the reports
9to5Mac expects the touchscreen models to use M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, while its report separately describes an M6-powered entry-level 14-inch MacBook Pro with a look similar to the current version. MacRumors mentions an M6 14-inch MacBook Pro in the same launch window but does not establish that it is one of the OLED touchscreen models. Treat these as separate reported product details, not a final specification sheet. (9to5Mac; MacRumors)
What is reported for the next iPad mini?
The reported iPad mini update centers on an OLED display, a front-facing camera moved to suit landscape video calls, and a redesigned or revamped speaker system. The accounts do not provide confirmed dimensions, full specifications or a final product name. Apple’s current iPad mini page describes the existing model; it does not verify these reported changes.

What remains unknown before you can make a buying decision?
As of October 8, 2026, the reviewed reports do not establish official prices, a retail date, regional availability, final model names, battery life, storage options, software support or measured performance. There is also no hands-on evaluation of the rumored devices. A comparison between the MacBook Pro and iPad mini would be premature: they serve different roles, and the reported details are not enough to judge value or performance.
