What Apache Directory Studio does
Apache describes Directory Studio as a directory tooling platform for LDAP servers, with particular attention to Apache Directory Server (ApacheDS). The project says its LDAP Browser is intended to work with almost any available LDAP server, but that is a statement of design scope—not confirmation that every server, version, or configuration has been tested.

The LDIF Editor is intended for working with LDAP Data Interchange Format files. Apache lists syntax highlighting and content assistance among its features.

The Schema Editor works with OpenLDAP-format schema files and supports editing attribute types and object classes for ApacheDS and OpenLDAP.
Configure ApacheDS
The suite also includes embedded ApacheDS, an ApacheDS configuration editor, and an ACI editor. These are the most directly ApacheDS-oriented components in the feature list.

Standalone application or Eclipse plugin?
