Verdict: The Anko LD-T7021B is an inexpensive, feature-rich four-slice toaster that makes sense for households prioritising capacity and a low purchase price. Its two-section layout, six browning settings, defrost, reheat and cancel controls are useful on paper, and owner comments mention quick toasting and slots that accommodate crumpets, muffins and larger bread. The reservation is evidence: only three public reviews are recorded, rating it 3.6/5, and one later owner reported that the outside elements stopped working. Buy it when the $39 Kmart Australia price and four-slice throughput matter more than proven long-term reliability; choose a model with stronger independent testing or a clearly documented longer warranty if reliability is your first priority.
Anko LD-T7021B at a glance
The LD-T7021B is a stainless-steel four-slice toaster divided into a main chassis and a sub-chassis. You can toast one or two slices in the main section, or use both sections for three or four slices. Each section has its own push-down/start lever, so a small breakfast does not require energising all four slots. The controls include six browning positions, cancel, reheat and defrost buttons, with indicator lights showing the selected function.

| Specification or feature | Published detail | What it means in use |
|---|---|---|
| Capacity | Four slices, arranged as main and sub-chassis sections | Use one or two slices on the main section; three or four slices use both sections |
| Dimensions | 28.5 cm high × 26 cm wide × 18.6 cm deep (Kmart listing) | Measure the counter and overhead clearance before buying |
| Construction | Stainless steel | Metal exterior, with the usual need to wipe rather than immerse |
| Electrical rating | 220–240 V on the Kmart listing | Suitable for the mains range stated on that Australian listing |
| Power figures | 1,350–1,500 W on the current Kmart category listing; 1,500–1,800 W in the LD-T7021B manual | These are different published figures; check the rating plate and the paperwork supplied with your unit |
| Browning control | Six positions | Position 3–4 is the manual’s starting point for medium golden toast |
| Special functions | Cancel, reheat and defrost, with LED indicators | Dedicated controls for frozen bread and already-cooked toast |
| Crumb collection | Slide-out crumb tray | Tray access makes routine emptying easier, but it must be fitted during operation |
| Price reference | $39 at Kmart Australia in a 2026 capture | A time-specific listed price, not a guarantee of today’s stock or price |
| Owner rating | 3.6/5 from three ProductReview.com.au reviews in a 2026 capture | A very small, mixed sample that cannot establish a failure rate |
The wattage discrepancy deserves attention. The retailer’s current category listing gives a 1,350–1,500 W range, while the technical-data panel in the exact-model manual says 1,500–1,800 W at 220–240 V and 50–60 Hz. Treat the manual figure as specific to the LD-T7021B document and the retailer figure as the category listing’s published range; do not use either number to assume that every similarly named Anko toaster has the same electrical rating.
How the two-section four-slice design works
Four slots do not necessarily mean one single, shared control. On this model, the main and sub-chassis sections operate independently through separate levers. For one or two slices, load the main section and push down its lever. For three or four slices, load the second section as well and start both levers. This arrangement is useful when two people want different amounts of toast, because you can leave the unused pair idle rather than running an empty cycle.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Independent section operation also affects timing. If one pair is loaded with a single slice and the other pair with two, the single slice can brown faster. The manual therefore recommends a lower setting for one slice than for two. That is a practical correction for the heat available around each slice, not a promise that every bread type will brown identically.
The toaster’s width and length are important for foods that do not resemble a standard sandwich slice. Owner comments specifically mention crumpets, muffins and larger bread fitting the slots. Those comments are individual experiences rather than a dimensional laboratory test, so check the bread physically: a thick or unusually tall item should sit freely without being forced down, and nothing should protrude where it could touch a heating element.
Controls: choosing a setting and starting a cycle
The browning dial has six positions. The manual’s recommended starting range is 3–4 for medium golden toast. Use that as a baseline, then adjust for the bread’s thickness, moisture, sugar content and whether you are running one slice or two. A lower number is the safer first attempt for a single slice, thin bread or a delicate item; a higher number may be needed for denser or wetter bread, but watch the first cycle rather than assuming the dial is a universal scale.

- Check the tray and slots. Confirm that the crumb tray is installed, the slots are clear and the toaster is on a stable, dry counter.
- Load the bread. Centre each slice in its slot. Do not insert food coated with runny butter, jam or another ingredient that can drip into the mechanism.
- Select browning. Start around level 3–4 for two slices, or choose a lower setting for one slice as advised by the manual.
- Start the relevant section. Push down the main lever for one or two slices. For three or four slices, push down the lever for each loaded section.
- Use the indicator lights. The LED shows when a special function such as defrost or reheat is selected.
- Wait for the lift. Let the cycle finish and the bread rise. If you need to stop early, press CANCEL rather than trying to lift food with an object.
- Allow a reset interval. Leave at least 30 seconds between cycles so the browning control can reset, as the manual specifies.
Do not judge the dial from a single slice and then expect the same shade from a full four-slice load. Bread quantity, starting temperature and the section being used all change the heat pattern. Keep notes for the bread you buy most often: once you find a satisfactory position, repeat it and make small changes rather than turning the dial several steps at a time.
Defrost and reheat functions
Toasting frozen bread
For bread taken directly from the freezer, press DEFROST after loading and before starting the appropriate lever. The toaster adds the thawing time needed before browning. Frozen slices vary considerably in thickness and ice content, so inspect the first result and adjust the browning position on the next cycle. Never use a knife or other metal object to separate a frozen slice that has become lodged.

Warming toast that has gone cold
Use REHEAT for toast that is already cooked but no longer warm. This function is intended to warm rather than produce a fresh full browning cycle. It is a better choice than selecting a high browning number for bread that has already been toasted.
Stopping a cycle
Press CANCEL whenever you need to end a cycle early, including if you see smoke. Smoke can indicate crumbs or residue heating, an unsuitable food, or an overly long setting. After cancelling, disconnect the toaster and let it cool before investigating; do not reach into a hot slot.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsDoes the LD-T7021B toast evenly?
There is not enough independent evidence to give this model a reliable evenness score. The three ProductReview.com.au entries include positive comments about quick toasting and successful use with both frozen and fresh bread, but the sample is too small to show how consistently every unit performs. Evenness also depends on slice count, bread dimensions, moisture and the chosen browning position.
When you first set up the toaster, test the bread you actually eat. Run two similar slices in the same section, then compare one slice against two at the same nominal setting. Repeat with a thick item such as a crumpet only after confirming that it fits without pressure. If one side persistently colours much more than the other across several comparable cycles, record the setting, bread type and section used; that pattern is more useful for a retailer or service conversation than a single isolated result.
The design gives you some control over variables. Run only the main section when making one or two slices, keep the same browning position between tests and observe whether the difference follows the bread or the slot. A difference that follows one slot may indicate an appliance issue; a difference that follows a particular slice may be caused by the bread itself. This is a troubleshooting method, not a guarantee that the toaster will deliver laboratory-level uniformity.

Cleaning, crumb-tray care and safety
Empty the slide-out crumb tray at least weekly when the toaster is used frequently. Crumbs left near heating elements can smoke during a later cycle, and a full tray reduces the cleanliness benefit of having removable collection. Pull the tray out over a bin, discard the crumbs and return it fully before using the toaster again.
- Unplug first. Disconnect the plug from the mains and wait until the toaster is completely cool.
- Remove the tray. Empty it over a bin. If it needs washing, dry it thoroughly before reinstalling.
- Clear loose crumbs safely. With the toaster unplugged and cool, turn it as directed by the manual to release loose crumbs. Do not insert cutlery, knives or other metal tools into the slots.
- Wipe the exterior. Use a slightly damp cloth, then dry the stainless-steel surfaces. Do not immerse the appliance, pour water into the slots or clean it while connected.
- Reassemble before use. The manual says not to operate the toaster without the crumb tray.
“Never let the toaster operate unattended.”
That warning matters even for a short cycle. Keep the appliance away from water, curtains and other combustible materials, and do not place anything on top while it is operating. The manual also warns against toasting foods with runny ingredients such as butter or jam; spread those after toasting instead.
What to do when bread jams or smoke appears
A slice is stuck
Do not try to pull or lever out the bread while the toaster is connected. The manual states: “Never attempt to remove bread jammed in the slots without unplugging the toaster from the mains electrical power outlet first.” Press CANCEL if the controls still respond, unplug the appliance, allow it to cool fully and only then remove the bread carefully. If it will not come out without force, stop and seek service rather than risking damage to the elements or an electric shock.
The toaster starts smoking
Press CANCEL, unplug the toaster and let it cool. Check for accumulated crumbs, residue from an unsuitable food or a setting that was too high for the bread. Clean the tray and exterior only after cooling. Persistent smoke on a clean, empty cycle is a reason to stop using the appliance and contact the retailer or manufacturer.
One section does not heat
Confirm that you have pushed down the lever for the loaded section and that the indicator light responds. Test the same bread in the other section only after the toaster is cool and safe to handle. If one pair repeatedly fails to heat while the other works, do not open the casing; arrange a return or service assessment. A ProductReview.com.au owner reported that the outside elements stopped working and planned to return the toaster, showing why a documented fault should be handled through the seller rather than improvised repair.

Browning changes from one cycle to the next
Use the same number of slices, bread type and section while diagnosing it, and wait the manual’s minimum 30 seconds between cycles. A single-slice load, a cold slice from the refrigerator and a full four-slice load should not be compared as if they were identical tests. If variation remains after controlling those factors, keep the purchase record and contact Kmart about the unit.
Price, owner evidence and the reliability question
Kmart Australia listed the toaster at $39 in a 2026 capture. That is an attractive entry price for four slots and dedicated defrost and reheat controls, but it is a dated listing snapshot rather than a promise of current price or availability. Check the live Kmart page and the box rating before purchase, especially because the published wattage differs between the category listing and the exact-model manual.
ProductReview.com.au records 3.6/5 from three reviews in a 2026 capture. Positive owners mention fast toasting, broad or long slots, use with crumpets and muffins, frozen-bread and fresh-bread operation, and easy crumb-tray cleaning. A later review reports that the outside elements stopped working and that the toaster was to be returned. Three reviews cannot establish a percentage chance of failure, average service life or consistent browning across production batches. They are useful signals about possible experiences, not a reliability study.
The official manual documents the controls, operating sequence and safety limits. It does not provide an independent measurement of browning uniformity, energy use per cycle, element life or long-term service performance. If those outcomes matter more to you than four-slice capacity, look for a competing model with published independent testing, a longer documented warranty or a larger body of owner evidence.

| Comparison point | Questions to ask | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Throughput | Can two pairs run independently, and can you toast one or two slices without heating all four slots? | Independent sections reduce wasted capacity for smaller breakfasts and help households with different schedules. |
| Slot dimensions | Are width and length specified, or do reviews demonstrate fit with crumpets, muffins and larger bread? | Nominal four-slice capacity is less useful if your regular bread is thick or oversized. |
| Browning control | How many settings are provided, and is there credible evidence of even results? | More positions offer adjustment, but they do not by themselves prove uniform heating. |
| Frozen and reheat modes | Are DEFROST and REHEAT separate buttons with clear indicators? | Dedicated modes are simpler than guessing with a high browning setting. |
| Cleaning access | Is the crumb tray removable, and can it be emptied without turning the appliance over? | Easy access supports the weekly cleaning schedule and reduces crumb build-up. |
| Footprint | Will the appliance fit the available width, depth and overhead space? | A four-slice body can occupy more counter than a two-slice toaster. |
| After-sales cover | What warranty duration and return process are stated for your region? | Clear coverage is valuable when independent reliability evidence is limited. |
| Price | Is the price current, promotional or captured on an earlier date? | A low sticker price is meaningful only when compared with current coverage and features. |
On those axes, the Anko offers a clear feature set and a low documented price. The unresolved items are long-term reliability and measured consistency, not the presence of basic controls.
Strengths and limitations
Strengths
- Four-slice capacity with separate main and sub-chassis sections.
- Six browning levels, plus dedicated cancel, reheat and defrost controls.
- Published dimensions and stainless-steel construction make counter planning straightforward.
- Owner comments describe quick cycles and successful use with crumpets, muffins, larger bread, frozen bread and fresh bread.
- Slide-out crumb tray supports regular emptying.
- The Kmart Australia listing captured a $39 price in 2026.
Limitations
- The retailer listing and exact-model manual publish different wattage ranges, so verify the rating supplied with your unit.
- Only three public owner reviews are recorded, with a mixed result of 3.6/5.
- One later review reports failed outside elements.
- No independent evidence establishes uniform browning, energy consumption or service life.
- The four-slot footprint is larger than a typical two-slice toaster, so counter space must be checked.
- A documented warranty duration is not stated in the available product information.
Who should buy the Anko LD-T7021B?
It is a reasonable choice for a household that regularly prepares three or four slices, wants separate control of two pairs and values defrost and reheat buttons without spending much. It is also a practical fit for buyers whose bread routine includes crumpets, muffins or larger slices, provided those foods fit freely in the slots. The low listed price makes the limited owner evidence an acceptable trade-off for some shoppers.
Choose cautiously if you need a dependable appliance for a busy kitchen, cannot tolerate a possible return, or expect documented multi-year service. In those cases, prioritise an alternative with stronger independent testing, a larger review base or a longer clearly stated warranty, even if its purchase price is higher.

Before paying, measure a 26 cm-wide by 18.6 cm-deep space, confirm that 220–240 V matches your supply, inspect the exact model number on the packaging and compare the rating plate with the manual. Verify the current Kmart price, return terms and any warranty wording because the $39 figure and 2026 review count are time-specific. Once installed, keep the crumb tray in place, start around the manual’s level 3–4 range, use a lower position for one slice, wait 30 seconds between cycles and never leave the toaster unattended.
Those checks capture the LD-T7021B’s real proposition: plenty of capacity and functions for little money, balanced by uncertainty about consistency and lifespan. Buy it for the features and price, not on the assumption that three owner reviews prove long-term reliability.
