To awaken a weapon in Anime Zero, use the Evolution NPC reached through Areas, select the weapon, and complete the requirements shown for it. Community guides describe evolution as the step that unlocks the weapon’s ultimate skill, bound to G. Because recipes and drop information are incomplete and may change with updates, use the in-game requirement list and queue preview as your source of truth.
How to awaken a weapon in Anime Zero
- Choose the weapon you plan to keep using. Evolution requirements are specific to each weapon, so decide before farming materials.
- Open Areas and find the Evolution NPC. Select your weapon to see its current requirements.
- Check the queue screen’s material drop preview. Use it to identify which run or mode offers the materials you need. Community guides report that the preview shows drop information.
- Collect the listed materials and return to the Evolution NPC. Complete the displayed evolution to unlock the weapon’s ultimate, reported as its fourth skill on G.
For the route to the Evolution NPC and the reported ultimate unlock, see the Anime Zero Beginner Guide and Anime Zero Evolution Guide.

What materials do weapons need?
There is no complete, verified public recipe list. The following are examples reported by community guides, not a substitute for checking the selected weapon’s live in-game requirements.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute- Hu Tao / Flame Director: The evolution guide reports Staff of Homa and Ghost as awakening materials. Its account attributes this information to a Spirited Away patch, but the patch details were not independently verified here.
- Sung Jinwoo / Shadow Monarch: The guide describes a three-stage evolution path involving Shadow Gate materials, including shadow essence, Igris’ crest, shadow’s cloak, and monarch’s blessing. It does not specify exact counts for each stage.
- Sukuna: Sukuna Fingers are reported as a material; the guide also mentions eyes in gameplay footage, so the full recipe is uncertain.
- Lyth: The guide reports four Soul Fragments based on gameplay footage.
Locations and exact counts are not fully documented across weapons. Treat these examples as clues only, and follow the in-game list for your current weapon.

How to plan material farming
Use the queue preview before running a mode
Check the queue screen’s material preview before committing to repeated runs. It can help you choose a run that lists the material you need rather than farming on the basis of an incomplete recipe list.
Understand the reported pity mechanic
The Anime Zero Wiki Editors’ community evolution guide, updated in 2026, reports material pity after five consecutive runs without a drop. This is a guide-reported mechanic, not an independently tested guarantee; verify the current in-game display before relying on it.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which weapon should you evolve first?
There is not enough documented evidence to rank every weapon or identify one universally best choice. A practical choice is the weapon you intend to use, weighed against the requirements currently shown in-game and how accessible those materials appear in the queue preview. For an overview of how evolution fits among the game’s upgrade systems, see the Anime Zero Progression Guide.

Is evolution required to enter a raid?
No universal raid-entry requirement is established. A community guide says evolution is optional before a raid and that entry requirements depend on the current game. Check the raid’s live requirements rather than evolving a weapon solely on the assumption that every raid requires it: Anime Zero Info’s guides.
Why your recipe or drop advice may differ
Public evolution information comes mainly from community guides and gameplay reports; a formal developer evolution document was not identified. Recipes, drops, and game requirements can change with updates. If an online list conflicts with the weapon’s current NPC requirements or the queue preview, use the in-game information.
For additional community coverage of the evolution process, see Anime Zero Codes Wiki’s evolution guide.
