Developed in partnership with Twin Atlas, it is presented as a faction-based action RPG—not a new film announcement. Players take the side of He-Man’s Heroic Warriors or Skeletor’s Evil Warriors in a fight over Castle Grayskull.
What is Battle for Grayskull?
Mattel describes Battle for Grayskull as a faction-based RPG set in the Masters of the Universe world. The announcement outlines exploration across Eternia, quests, boss fights, loot, equipment, unlockable abilities, skill-tree customization, and character progression. Named locations include Snake Mountain and Subternia.

Those are the systems and locations described in the launch announcement, not a detailed account of how they work during play. The available announcement does not establish the depth of the quests, the structure of the skill tree, or how progression is balanced.
Mattel Game Studios vice president Sean Thompson said the goal was to build an experience that “belongs” on Roblox while remaining true to the franchise’s characters, world, and action. That is Mattel’s stated aim, rather than an independent assessment of the finished game.

Both factions are part of the conflict over Castle Grayskull. The announcement does not say whether choosing a side changes missions, rewards, abilities, balance, or play style, so those differences should not be assumed.
