There is no evidence-backed way to name AMZN or SpaceX the better 10-year stock without comparing what each share costs today with the cash it could generate in the future. Amazon has a large, profitable operating business with a long public-market history. SpaceX offers a different growth profile, but its available 2025 figures are loss-making and include businesses added through acquisitions. Those facts inform the choice; they do not settle it.
The latest financial materials cited here are Amazon’s FY2025 Form 10-K and SpaceX’s offering prospectus, which includes audited 2025 figures and unaudited results through March 31, 2026. The prospectus was reviewed through a third-party mirror, and current share prices, valuations, and later filings have not been verified. Treat this as a decision framework, not a price-sensitive buy recommendation.

What do the reported financials say?
Amazon’s FY2025 filing shows a much larger and profitable reported business. SpaceX’s prospectus reports a smaller combined business with a net loss in 2025. The figures are not a like-for-like comparison: SpaceX’s historical presentation retrospectively includes xAI and X Holdings, while Amazon’s filing reports Amazon.com, Inc. on a stand-alone basis.
| Measure | Amazon.com, Inc. (2025) | SpaceX prospectus (2025) |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue or net sales | $716.924 billion in consolidated net sales | $18.674 billion in revenue; retrospective combined presentation includes xAI and X Holdings |
| Operating income | $79.975 billion | Not stated here; the prospectus reports a $4.937 billion net loss |
| Net income or loss | $77.670 billion in net income | $4.937 billion net loss; retrospective combined presentation includes xAI and X Holdings |
| Notable segment figures | AWS: $128.725 billion in net sales and $45.606 billion in operating income | Not comparable segment figures established in the materials cited here |
Amazon’s figures are from its FY2025 Form 10-K. SpaceX’s figures are from its offering prospectus reproduced on a third-party interactive site; the prospectus says the 2025 historical results were retrospectively combined to include xAI, acquired effective February 2, 2026, and X Holdings, acquired by xAI effective March 28, 2025. That expanded scope means the revenue figures should not be read as a clean comparison of Amazon’s business with SpaceX’s legacy launch and connectivity operations.

- HIGH-DETAIL 3D-PRINTED STRUCTURE: Contrasting silver, black and white components make the launch system easy to examine from multiple angles in offices, classrooms and exhibits.
- A DISPLAY GIFT FOR SPACE ENTHUSIASTS: Suited to adult collectors, engineers and students; place on a stable surface and handle the fine tower and arm details carefully.
Amazon’s earnings base is substantial, but not a forecast
Amazon reported positive operating income and net income in 2025. AWS alone generated $45.606 billion of operating income on $128.725 billion of net sales. Those reported results demonstrate current scale and profitability; they do not establish how quickly earnings or free cash flow will grow, how much investment will be needed to sustain them, or what return a buyer will earn at a particular share price.
SpaceX’s reported loss needs context
The prospectus’s $4.937 billion net loss is for its retrospectively combined 2025 presentation, including xAI and X Holdings. It is not a clean stand-alone measure of the older SpaceX launch and connectivity business. Nor does a loss by itself show whether the shares are attractive: the investment question depends on future cash generation, capital needs, dilution, and the valuation investors pay.

Why valuation matters more than choosing the more exciting company
A stock’s long-run return depends on the price paid as well as the company’s progress. A strong business can deliver a disappointing investment return if its starting valuation already assumes exceptional growth. Conversely, a riskier company can still produce a good return if future cash flows exceed what the market price implies. No current market capitalization, valuation multiple, or same-date share price for both companies is established in the materials cited here, so a numerical valuation contest or target price would be false precision.
Before investing, compare both companies using the same date and a consistent basis. Market capitalization is the value of equity; enterprise value also accounts for debt and cash. Do not compare a company’s total enterprise value with another company’s equity value, or use a trailing earnings multiple for one and a forecast multiple for the other without clearly labeling the difference.

- Price versus plausible cash flow: Estimate what the business could earn or generate in cash over time, then ask whether the current equity value leaves room for a satisfactory return under ordinary—not perfect—execution.
- Growth and margins: Assess whether revenue growth can translate into durable operating profit and free cash flow. Revenue growth alone does not demonstrate shareholder value creation.
- Reinvestment and dilution: Account for the capital required to build capacity, fund research and development, and expand infrastructure. Also check whether new share issuance could reduce each existing share’s claim on future results.
- Downside case: Test what happens if growth slows, margins compress, projects take longer or cost more than expected, or the market assigns a lower valuation multiple.
How the business risks differ
Amazon: breadth, competition, and operating execution
Amazon combines North American and international commerce with AWS and other activities. Its breadth means investors are not buying a single product line, but the businesses still face competition and different operating pressures. Its FY2025 Form 10-K identifies risks that include changes in economic conditions, customer spending, inflation and interest rates, tariffs and trade policy, resource and supply volatility, labor constraints, competition, litigation and regulation, and the execution and cost of fulfillment, delivery, and data-center operations. The filing’s risk list is not exhaustive, and a diversified company is not a risk-free investment.
SpaceX: opportunity alongside execution and governance exposure
The prospectus covers a business with launch, connectivity, and acquired operations in its retrospective historical presentation. Its potential growth must be weighed against the uncertainty of converting investment and expansion into lasting per-share cash generation. Investors should examine capital requirements, execution, regulation, competition, and possible share dilution in the filed offering materials rather than infer an expected return from the company’s ambitions alone.

The prospectus describes dual-class shares: Class B shares carry ten votes each, compared with one vote for each Class A share, and it describes Elon Musk as retaining majority voting influence after the offering. It also says SpaceX does not anticipate paying dividends for the foreseeable future. These are terms reported in the prospectus mirror and should be checked against the official filed prospectus and charter documents before relying on them. Concentrated voting control can limit outside shareholders’ influence; an expectation of no dividends means an investor’s return would depend primarily on share-price appreciation.
Which stock fits which 10-year investor?
Neither profile guarantees a better return. The choice should reflect both the price available and the kind of uncertainty an investor can accept.
Best Value
- Extremely exquisite Falcon Heavy rocket model (For collection or display, not a toy! Children should not buy it)
- This model is a highly simulated SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket model. First-stage super heavy-duty booster is made of precise aluminum alloy tubes.Second-level starship is embedded with reinforced aluminum alloy tubes
- The proportional model:1:233
- Actual height: 32cm (the core diameter is 24mm, the real rocket is 9 meters in diameter) This ratio is the best choice for desktop placement
- Note: This model is not a toy model, it is not recommended to buy for children, please buy with caution to avoid unnecessary trouble for your shopping
- Amazon may fit better for an investor seeking exposure to a large, currently profitable operating company with several business lines, provided the market price is reasonable relative to plausible future cash flows. Its 2025 results do not remove competitive, economic, regulatory, or execution risks.
- SpaceX may fit better for an investor who can tolerate greater uncertainty around a loss-making combined 2025 presentation, large future investment needs, concentrated voting control, and a return dependent on appreciation rather than anticipated dividends—provided the valuation does not already require unusually ambitious success.
- Neither may fit if the investor cannot verify the offering terms and current valuation, needs dependable income, or would be unable to withstand a large loss. The prospectus warns that investors could lose some or all of their investment in the Class A common stock.
For Amazon’s public-market history, Amazon investor relations says the company completed its IPO in May 1997 and trades on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under ticker AMZN; see its investor relations FAQ. For SpaceX, verify whether an offering has closed, what securities are available, the listing venue and ticker, share-class terms, and trading eligibility using official filings and exchange information. A prospectus is not by itself proof that the offering has closed or that shares are trading.
A practical checklist before buying either
- Confirm what you can buy. Check the latest official filing and exchange information for listing status, ticker, share class, offering completion, and any restrictions that apply to you.
- Use current, comparable numbers. On the same date, record each company’s share price, diluted share count, market capitalization, cash, debt, and the latest reported financial results. Separate actual results from analyst estimates.
- Read the latest filings. For Amazon, start with the latest 10-K and subsequent 10-Q filings. For SpaceX, use the official filed offering documents and any later reports. Review business scope and accounting basis before comparing revenue, profit, or cash flow.
- Write down a realistic return case. State what growth, margins, reinvestment, and valuation you are assuming. Test a less favorable case, including slower growth and a lower valuation at the end of the holding period.
- Check shareholder economics and control. Review diluted share issuance, voting rights, dividend policy, and any terms that limit your ability to influence company decisions.
- Decide position size based on loss tolerance. A 10-year horizon does not prevent a permanent loss, a steep decline, or a long period of weak returns. Past performance does not predict future returns.
The financial comparison above is grounded in Amazon’s 2025 Form 10-K and the SpaceX prospectus materials available through October 7, 2026; later filings and market data are not reflected. That matters especially for a new offering, where listing status, share terms, market price, and valuation can change quickly.
