Other store views showed higher prices, so check the listing for your selected location before making a trip. The six-core AM4 processor may suit an upgrade to a compatible existing system, but it ships without a heatsink or thermal solution.
What the $159.99 Micro Center listing means
Micro Center’s listing showed $159.99 at its Denver store, with 25+ new units listed when the page was accessed on October 7, 2026. The same search results showed $179.99 in another store view and higher prices at other locations. The $159.99 figure is therefore a local, time-sensitive in-store listing, not a national price or an online offer. Check Micro Center’s Ryzen 5 5600X3D product listing with your selected store for current price and stock.

The available listing does not establish that the 5600X3D is the cheapest X3D processor overall. That claim would require a current comparison across competing models, retailers, and regions; a single store price cannot establish it.

Check motherboard compatibility before buying
The processor uses the AM4 socket. AMD lists X570, X470, B550, B450, and A520 among its supporting chipsets. Check your motherboard’s exact model and its manufacturer’s CPU-support information before purchasing; socket and chipset alone do not confirm that a particular board configuration is ready for the CPU.

That depends on the price and stock at your local store, whether your motherboard supports the processor, and whether you already have a suitable cooler. For someone upgrading an AM4 system, it is a candidate to compare against other compatible CPUs at the actual checkout price. The cited product and retail pages do not provide controlled benchmark results, so they do not support a universal performance-per-dollar verdict or a claim that it is the cheapest X3D option.
