What Amazon Bee is
Bee is a wearable AI assistant intended to turn conversations into searchable summaries, recaps, memories, and tasks. Bee Frontier is the model you can currently buy. It is worn on the body with either the included wristband or clip and is designed for ambient, in-person conversations.
Bee Eclipse is a different form factor. Amazon has announced it as a phone attachment designed to process both sides of phone calls. It is listed as coming soon rather than as an available retail product, so its final launch date, retail configuration, and service details should be checked on the live Amazon listing before ordering.

Amazon describes Bee as processing conversations in real time rather than keeping the original audio. The company’s launch announcement says Bee “processes conversations in real-time without storing audio for privacy, delivering ambient AI wherever customers are.” Read Amazon’s announcement for its product description and feature updates.
Does Bee require a subscription?
No. The purchase includes a usable free tier. Amazon says every Bee customer receives conversation summaries, recaps, and 14-day memory at no additional cost. You can therefore use Bee for its basic capture-and-summary workflow without paying a recurring fee.

- A 14-day memory window.
The 14-day figure describes the included memory period. It is not an unlimited historical archive, and it should not be interpreted as a promise that every past conversation remains available indefinitely.
What Bee Pro adds
Bee Pro costs $11.99 per month according to Amazon’s 2026 pricing. New customers receive a 30-day introductory period before the recurring charge applies, subject to the terms shown at signup.

The practical decision is simple: stay on the free tier if summaries, recaps, and a two-week memory window cover your routine. Pro is aimed at people who want automation around those notes, longer or more frequent access to recent summaries, connected services, daily memory, or desktop use.

Bee Frontier price, battery, and hardware
Price and what is in the box
Amazon lists Bee Frontier at $74.99 on Amazon.com in 2026. The hardware includes a wristband and a clip, allowing you to wear it on your wrist or attach it to clothing. Prices and included accessories can change, so confirm the live listing before purchase.
Battery and charging
Bee rates Frontier for up to seven days, or up to 160 hours, on a charge. That is a maximum manufacturer claim rather than a guaranteed runtime for every pattern of use. Frequent capture, active phone connectivity, software activity, and environmental conditions can reduce the time between charges.

Frontier charges over USB-C. A USB-C cable or charger is therefore part of your charging routine, although the exact in-box charging accessories should be confirmed on the current listing.
Durability and wearing options
Frontier is rated IP67 water resistant. That rating is useful for ordinary splashes and brief exposure to dust and water under the conditions covered by the rating; it is not a reason to treat the device as suitable for every swimming, diving, or high-pressure-water situation. The included wristband and clip let you choose a position that keeps the capture control accessible and the device oriented consistently.
Bee Eclipse: what is different
Eclipse is designed around phone calls rather than only ambient, in-person conversations. Its purpose is to process both sides of a call through a phone attachment, which addresses a different use case from wearing Frontier in a room.

Amazon has announced Eclipse with a starting price of $99.99 and an approximately three-week battery claim in its official product information. Eclipse is marked as coming soon, so availability, final battery specifications, accessories, and retail terms should be rechecked when it launches. Do not treat the announced price or approximate runtime as a currently orderable specification.

If you need a device now, Frontier is the only model in this comparison identified as available. If your priority is call capture and you can wait, Eclipse is the model aligned with that scenario, but its announced specifications remain subject to change.
Phone compatibility, languages, and integrations
iPhone and Android support
Bee Frontier’s official product information lists apps for both iOS and Android. That means the basic phone platform question is not an iPhone-versus-Android choice: both ecosystems are supported. You will still need a compatible phone, the Bee app, a signed-in account, and the permissions required by the app for setup and synchronization.
Language support
Amazon lists support for more than 40 languages for Frontier. “40+” is the published scope; it does not establish that every feature, integration, or quality level is identical in every language. If you plan to use Bee in a less common language or to mix languages in one conversation, check the current app documentation and supported-language list before relying on it for important records.
Connected services
Frontier’s listed integrations include Google, Alexa, and Amazon.com. Bee Pro adds Amazon.com and Alexa+ integrations along with third-party app integrations. The distinction matters because a service being listed as an integration does not mean every action is available on the free tier or in every country.

Third-party integrations are one of the clearest reasons to consider Pro. They can turn a summary into a connected workflow, while the free tier is better understood as the core capture, recap, and memory experience.
Is Bee always recording?
Bee should not be treated as an always-recording microphone that silently captures everything by default. Amazon says the user controls capture with a physical press: a single press starts or stops capture, and a green LED indicates when the device is on.
The control scheme creates two practical checks before a conversation:
- Press the control deliberately when you want capture to begin.
- Look for the green LED and press again to stop capture when the conversation ends.
Amazon’s Private Compute documentation states that Bee does not store audio: conversations are processed in real time and then discarded. The retained products of that processing are transcripts, summaries, and to-dos, which are encrypted.
Consent still matters
A device indicator is not a substitute for consent. Recording or transcribing another person can be regulated by local law, workplace policy, contract, or the expectations of the people present. For phone calls, obtain the appropriate consent before capturing the call. When in doubt, tell participants that Bee is active and explain what you intend to do with the resulting notes.

How Bee handles transcripts and deletion
Amazon says transcripts, summaries, and to-dos are encrypted with keys that only the customer controls, and that Amazon has no master key. This is a stronger privacy boundary than simply saying data is encrypted in transit or at rest: according to Amazon’s description, the customer-controlled keys determine access to the processed records.
Bee also provides controls to delete transcripts and summaries. Deleting those records is different from stopping capture: stop capture with the physical control first, then remove stored processed content through the account or app controls. Because labels and menus can change with software updates, use the deletion controls shown in your current Bee app rather than relying on an older screenshot or guide.
Three layers are worth keeping separate:
- Capture control: the physical press and green LED determine when the device is active.
- Audio handling: audio is processed in real time and discarded rather than stored as an audio archive.
- Processed data: transcripts, summaries, and to-dos are encrypted and can be deleted by the user.
This model reduces the risk of retaining raw recordings, but it does not make the resulting transcript harmless. A summary can still contain names, addresses, health details, business information, or other sensitive material. Treat Bee’s processed notes as confidential data and review who can access your account and connected integrations.
Setting up Bee Frontier
The exact wording of app screens can change, but the setup sequence follows the product’s hardware and app requirements.
- Charge the device. Connect Frontier by USB-C and charge it before the first extended session.
- Install the Bee app. Use the official Bee app for your iPhone or Android phone.
- Pair Frontier. Open the app’s device-setup or pairing flow and follow its prompts to connect the wearable.
- Choose the wearing position. Attach the wristband or clip where the microphone and capture control remain unobstructed and easy to reach.
- Review account and privacy settings. Confirm the memory, integration, notification, and deletion options available in your version of the app.
- Start a test capture. Press once, verify the green LED, say a short test phrase, then press again to stop.
- Check the result. Open the app after processing and verify that the summary or recap appears as expected before using Bee for an important meeting.
- Set your consent routine. Decide how you will notify other participants and how you will handle sensitive conversations before making capture a habit.
A short test is especially useful when changing languages, moving the device to a new position, or connecting an integration. It confirms that the phone, wearable, account, and permissions are working together before the information matters.
Which Bee model should you buy?
Choose Frontier when you need a device now
- You mainly want summaries of face-to-face conversations.
- You prefer a wearable that can be clipped to clothing or worn on the wrist.
- A seven-day maximum battery claim and USB-C charging fit your routine.
- You want the lower announced hardware price and do not need a phone-call-specific attachment.
Wait for Eclipse when phone calls are the priority
- Your central use case is processing both sides of calls.
- You are comfortable waiting for a product announced as coming soon.
- You will verify the final price, battery, compatibility, and consent behavior at launch.
Consider Bee Pro when the workflow matters more than basic summaries
- You need unlimited recent conversation summaries rather than the included 14-day memory experience.
- You want suggested to-dos, daily memories, or a personal chat assistant.
- You will use Amazon.com, Alexa+, or third-party app integrations.
- You want conversation templates or the Bee desktop app.
