Some Echo speakers running Alexa Plus have reportedly repeated or sung “lalala” for minutes, including during conversations. Amazon reportedly described the behavior as a bug affecting a small number of Alexa Plus users and said a fix was in the works. The cause and a release date for that fix have not been established in the available coverage.
What is happening with Alexa?
Users have described Alexa getting stuck repeating “la” for several minutes. Reports also describe Alexa Plus singing “lalala” on some Echo smart speakers, sometimes in the middle of conversations. The accounts cover multiple speaker types, but do not establish that every Echo or Alexa device is affected.

Why is Alexa saying “lalala”?
The cause has not been identified in the cited coverage. The reports do not confirm that a recent software update triggered the behavior, nor do they provide a technical diagnosis. Amazon’s reported acknowledgment classifies it as a bug, but does not explain the underlying fault.

Is Amazon fixing the Alexa Plus bug?
The Verge reported that Amazon told Android Authority the issue affected “a small number of Alexa Plus” users and that a fix was in the works. That is an indirectly reported company statement, not a named spokesperson’s full verbatim comment. No user count or percentage was provided.
The reports give no date for when a fix would reach devices. They also do not establish whether a rollout has since been completed, so users should not treat the reported work on a fix as confirmation that it is already available.

What can you do if your Echo keeps repeating “la”?
The coverage establishes a software bug and an effort to fix it, but does not identify a confirmed user-side remedy. It offers no supported reason to replace an Echo speaker or buy an accessory: the reported issue is software behavior, not a confirmed hardware fault. The available reports also do not specify a setting, command, or troubleshooting procedure that reliably stops the repetition.
