What the Pixel 12 leak claims
TechRepublic reported on October 5, 2026, that entries in GSMA IMEI records identified by OVR Plus appear to map to four possible Pixel 12-series devices. The entries are evidence of reported database listings, not confirmation that Google will sell four phones under these names.

These mappings and resolutions come from TechRepublic’s account of GSMA/OVR Plus entries, not Google specifications. TechRepublic’s report notes that database appearances do not guarantee every device will reach retail under the listed names.

The alleged 2296 × 2404 figure describes the number of pixels on the Pixel 12 Pro Fold’s inner display. It does not reveal the display’s physical dimensions, aspect ratio in use, brightness, refresh rate, or how large the screen will feel. Those details have not surfaced in the cited report.

For context, TechRepublic gives the Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s reported inner-display resolution as 2076 × 2152. That comparison makes the leaked Pixel 12 figure higher in both dimensions, but resolution alone cannot establish a better overall screen or confirm a meaningful upgrade in everyday use.
Could a dual-UTG design reduce the crease?
A separate report points to work on the structure beneath a foldable screen. According to 9to5Google’s account of reporting by The Elec, Google, Oppo, and Vivo are working with Samsung Display on dual-UTG foldable displays. The reported design places one ultra-thin-glass layer above the display and another beneath it to support the OLED panel.

That is a reported development direction, not confirmation that a Pixel 12 Pro Fold will use the construction. It also does not establish that the screen would be crease-free or quantify how much less visible a crease might be. The final result would depend on the product’s complete screen and hinge design, neither of which is established by this report.

When might Google announce its next foldable?
9to5Google reported that Oppo and Vivo were expected to release devices in the first half of 2027, while it placed Google’s next foldable in the second half of the year—possibly August—based on Google’s usual schedule. This is an attributed expectation, not an announced launch date or a confirmed Pixel 12 Pro Fold schedule.

What Google has officially announced
Google officially introduced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold on August 12, 2026. Its product announcement describes an IP68 rating, a gearless hinge, and inner and outer displays. Google also makes durability and battery-life claims; those are manufacturer claims, not independent test results. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is the official current-model point of comparison in the cited materials, but its announcement does not validate any Pixel 12 leak.

Should you wait for the Pixel 12 Pro Fold?
There is not enough confirmed information to recommend buying the Pixel 11 Pro Fold or waiting for its rumored successor on product merits. The Pixel 12 Pro Fold’s price, availability, physical screen dimensions, hinge, cameras, battery, charging, and final display design are not established by the cited reports. The useful distinction for a buyer is simple: the Pixel 11 Pro Fold has been announced, while the Pixel 12 Pro Fold remains a leak.
