Do AirPods Max 2 features work with every device?

Are more AirPods Max models rumored?
A MacRumors rumor recap published 27 August 2024 said reporting at the time pointed to a late-2024 revision with USB-C and possible new colors, while larger changes such as H2 were then speculative. Apple later released a USB-C and color update before AirPods Max 2, and confirmed H2 in the 2026 model.
