When does AION 2 launch globally?
NCSoft’s [global AION 2 page] lists October 5, 2026 as the service launch date. The official Steam announcements say commercial launch follows scheduled maintenance spanning October 4–5. Because launch is imminent and the maintenance notice may change, check the current official notice for the latest timing before planning a login.

What platforms can you play AION 2 on?
The global launch FAQ lists Steam and PURPLE on Windows PC as supported access routes, with the same in-game content on both. It does not establish official mobile support for the global launch version.

Can you play solo or with friends?
Yes. The official launch FAQ says AION 2 can be played solo or with friends. For a group, choose a region and faction, then coordinate on a server using the current official server notices.

How factions and cross-server play work
Official notices describe servers organized by region and faction. Elyos and Asmodian servers are paired, and the opposing factions can encounter each other in shared PvP areas such as the Abyss. Instanced activities, including dungeons, are cross-server. Pairings may be updated periodically, so confirm the latest notice before your group settles on a specific server.
Can you use the same character on Steam and PURPLE?
Yes, if you link the accounts. Steam can be used without linking PURPLE, but playing the same character with the same progress through both access routes requires linking. NCSoft’s support FAQ provides instructions based on the original login method. Check that flow before changing links, particularly if your existing character is connected to a non-Steam NC login.

Does Taiwan or Korea version progress carry over?
No. The global launch FAQ says progress from the Taiwan and Korea versions does not carry over to global. This is separate from Steam/PURPLE account linking: linking lets you access the same global character and progress through those two routes.
What progression details are confirmed?
The official launch FAQ establishes the two continuity rules above: regional TW/KR progress does not transfer to global, while linking Steam and PURPLE allows access to the same character and progress. It does not establish detailed level caps, gear steps, progression speed, resets, or seasonal cadence. Those details should not be assumed from another regional version.

Is AION 2 free to play?
The launch FAQ describes AION 2 as free to play, with optional monthly membership, paid cosmetics, and a battle pass. It says membership provides access to the player-driven economy and currency exchanges; consult the in-game or current official store information for the applicable terms.
NCSoft warns that buying Kinah or Quna from unauthorized sellers violates its Terms of Service and can result in termination of game access. See the official announcements for account and currency guidance.
