AION 2 launched globally on October 5, 2026. Korea and Taiwan had an earlier regional launch on November 19, 2025. The game is NCSoft’s faction-based MMORPG sequel, built around character customization, manual combat, flight, exploration and PvE content. Here are the practical details on gameplay, platforms, system requirements, regional access and monetization.
What is AION 2?
AION 2 is NCSoft’s MMORPG sequel and continuation of the AION franchise. Its story centers on the conflict between the Elyos and Asmodians. NCSoft describes features including eight classes, customizable characters, manual combat, exploration-focused PvE and Unreal Engine 5 graphics. The global site also highlights chained skills, flight and exploration, with PvE ranging from solo instances to large-scale raids. These are the publisher’s feature descriptions, not independent assessments of performance or quality.

When did AION 2 launch?
The official global teaser gives October 5, 2026 as the global launch date. NCSoft’s separate Korea and Taiwan launch took place on November 19, 2025. What platforms can you play AION 2 on?
Official global materials link to Steam, and the global Twitch Drops instructions cover linking a Steam account. NCSoft’s Korean download page describes installation through PURPLE on PC and PC/mobile cross-platform play. Because the PURPLE details are for the Korean service, they do not by themselves confirm that the same platform arrangements apply to every global region. Check the official site or store listing for your location before installing.
What are AION 2’s system requirements?
NCSoft’s detailed requirements are published on a Korean-service download page, so treat them as Korean service specifications rather than confirmed requirements for every global version. That page lists Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), DirectX 12 and 100 GB of free storage, alongside minimum and recommended processor, memory and graphics specifications. It also lists mobile device requirements. See NCSoft’s Korean download and requirements page for the full specifications; check a current global requirements page if you are installing the global service.
Is AION 2 free to play?
NCSoft’s Japanese service listing describes AION 2 as free to play with item purchases. A June 2026 update for its service announced that memberships would be consolidated into one tier with a reduced subscription price, and described server-wide sharing for certain costumes and pets. These details establish that free access, item purchases and membership elements have appeared in official service descriptions; they do not establish the exact current global subscription price or a complete current list of purchasable items. Check the live billing information for your region before spending.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

The game has a global service, but that label alone does not establish availability in every country or territory. NCSoft’s global Twitch Drops instructions say the campaign is for global-server players and excludes players on Korea and Taiwan servers. That is a Drops eligibility rule, not a complete country-availability policy. Check the live account or store listing for your country to confirm access.
