A practical 2026 marketing stack usually combines an AI workspace for research and creative exploration, a CRM-connected platform for customer context and campaigns, and workflow-specific automation for tasks such as segmentation, journeys, and email timing. Choose by the work you need to improve, the data and systems you already have, and the cost and governance required to make the tools usable.
What should an AI marketing stack do?
Think in capability layers, not a leaderboard. The tools below address different jobs and may overlap: one helps teams synthesize information and explore ideas; another manages customer-connected marketing operations; specialist features automate or predict parts of campaign execution. The right combination depends on whether your main constraint is insight, campaign operations, or a specific workflow.

- Research and creative exploration: bring customer and campaign information into analysis, planning, and concept development.
- Customer-connected operations: coordinate campaigns, lead generation, personalization, and reporting around CRM context.
- Workflow automation and prediction: accelerate campaign or segment creation and support journeys and email decisions.

AI workspace: ChatGPT Work
OpenAI describes ChatGPT Work as a marketing workspace spanning research, strategy, creative, and execution. Its marketing page describes using customer research, sales conversations, and campaign performance to inform customer understanding. It also lists connections including HubSpot, Figma, Adobe, Canva, Salesforce, Mailchimp, Google Drive, Klaviyo, and Semrush. OpenAI presents Data and Product Design plugins for campaign analysis, creative development, and prototyping. These are product-positioning claims; the cited page does not establish that every connection or capability is available in every account or demonstrate measured workflow results. See OpenAI’s marketing page.
#1 Best Overall
The same page describes ChatGPT Ads as a way to reach people while they explore and compare options. Treat that as OpenAI’s stated advertising proposition, not evidence of campaign performance or universal availability.
CRM-connected platform: HubSpot Marketing Hub
HubSpot describes Marketing Hub as software for lead generation, personalization, and cross-channel campaigns. Its feature descriptions include automated campaigns, social management, analytics and reporting, multi-touch revenue attribution, and bi-directional Salesforce synchronization. HubSpot also says its marketplace includes more than 2,000 custom integrations. These are vendor-reported capabilities: an integration listing alone does not establish that a particular workflow will suit your organization. Details are on the HubSpot Marketing Hub page.
Workflow automation: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next
Salesforce Help documents a Campaign Creation Agent that can draft briefs, campaigns, and content from conversational prompts, alongside a Journey Decisioning Agent, Account Discovery Agent, and Distributed Marketing Agent. The documentation also describes segment creation, Einstein Send Time Optimization, engagement scoring, and engagement frequency. Requirements vary by feature: Salesforce notes setup and product or edition prerequisites, and some predictive features require Advanced edition. Confirm the exact feature, configuration, and edition against the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Next AI feature documentation before planning a rollout.

Start with the bottleneck, then work outward to data, integration, governance, and total cost. A tool’s AI label is less useful than a clear account of what it can do with your systems and who will operate it.

- Name the job. Identify whether the priority is research synthesis, creative exploration, CRM-connected campaign operations, segmentation, journey decisions, or email optimization. Set a measurable business or operational objective before selecting a feature.
- Trace the customer and campaign data. Map where CRM records, sales conversations, campaign performance, and creative assets live. Check whether the proposed product can connect to the relevant services and whether the required data is actually accessible under your configuration.
- Validate the real workflow. A listed integration or feature is not proof that handoffs, permissions, and reporting work as needed. Test a representative process with the teams who will use it, and define where human review is required.
- Confirm governance and setup. Determine which users can access customer information, what approvals apply to generated content or campaign actions, and what configuration or edition is required. The cited material does not establish a comparative security ranking among these products.
- Calculate total cost. Include seats, plan limits, any necessary add-ons, implementation effort, and ongoing administration. Recheck vendor pricing and packaging at purchase time because they can change.
- Set an evaluation standard. Compare the workflow against your current process using the same task and outcome measures. Vendor feature descriptions and customer testimonials can help identify use cases, but they are not controlled cross-vendor performance evidence.
What do the available price and adoption figures establish?
HubSpot’s Marketing Hub page displayed the following USD prices when accessed on October 7, 2026. The page says prices are subject to tax and notes a limited-time offer for new customers; the figures are not permanent price guarantees.
| HubSpot plan | Displayed price (USD) | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/month | Price displayed on October 7, 2026; subject to tax. |
| Starter | From $10/month per seat | Price displayed on October 7, 2026; subject to tax. |
| Professional | From $890/month | Three seats included; price displayed on October 7, 2026; subject to tax. |
| Enterprise | From $3,600/month | Five seats included; price displayed on October 7, 2026; subject to tax. |
HubSpot’s plan page should be checked for current packaging, eligibility, and price before budgeting. Its displayed starting prices are only one part of total cost; implementation and the requirements of a particular team’s workflow also matter.

HubSpot’s 2026 State of AI in Marketing landing page describes a global snapshot of 1,700+ marketers. It reports that 98% of marketing teams use AI in some form, 86% of marketers use agents, and 76% say agent usage increased in the prior six months. The page also says 71% of marketers say AI makes it easier to meet MQL targets. These are vendor-published survey figures, not independently verified estimates of all marketing teams; the page does not provide enough methodology to assess sampling or representativeness. See HubSpot’s 2026 report landing page.
That page also compares HubSpot AI customers with non-customers, reporting 284% more MQLs, 110% more contacts, and 65% more deals for the AI customers. The figures are HubSpot’s vendor-published comparison; the available page does not establish that AI caused the differences or that the groups were comparable. They should not be treated as a forecast for another organization.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How strong is the evidence behind vendor claims?
The product pages and help documentation establish what vendors say their tools offer and, in Salesforce’s case, some feature-specific setup and edition requirements. OpenAI’s marketing page also hosts testimonials from named customer leaders. For example, Jane Lauder, Chief Data Officer and EVP, Enterprise Marketing at The Estée Lauder Companies, says the tools reduce low-value work and give teams opportunities to create at greater scale; Kate Cronin, Chief Brand Officer at Moderna, says AI helps the brand think beyond its usual perspective. These are vendor-hosted testimonials, not independent measurement.
The cited material does not provide a controlled comparison of these products, establish that a connection works for every customer configuration, or support a universal return-on-investment claim. Use vendor documentation to build a shortlist, then validate the workflow and outcomes with your own data, requirements, and review process.
How should a CMO assemble the stack?
Choose the smallest set of capabilities that solves a defined problem. If the gap is turning scattered research and campaign information into plans and creative options, evaluate an AI workspace and verify its connections. If the gap is coordinating customer-centered campaigns and reporting, evaluate a CRM-connected marketing platform. If an existing marketing operation needs specific automation or predictive decisions, first confirm that the relevant feature is available in the product and edition you operate.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDo not buy overlapping tools simply because each markets itself as AI-powered. Assign an owner to each workflow, identify the system of record for customer data, define review points, and compare total operating cost with the process being improved. Expand only when a measured pilot shows the tool fits your organization’s needs.
