To add another Hostinger email address on a domain you already use, buy additional mailbox slots in the Hostinger Dashboard, then create the new addresses under Emails → your plan/domain → Email Accounts → Mailboxes. Each mailbox gets its own login, password, storage and settings. If the address belongs to a different domain, Hostinger requires a separate email plan because one email plan can be associated with only one domain.
First decide whether you need a mailbox or an alias
Hostinger uses two different concepts that are easy to confuse:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Mailbox: an independent email account with its own password, inbox, storage allocation and settings. Use this when another person needs to sign in, or when you want a genuinely separate inbox.
- Alias: another address that delivers to an existing mailbox. It does not create a second login or a separate inbox. Hostinger’s support documentation states: “An email alias is an alternative name for an existing mailbox, not an additional mailbox.”
For example, [email protected] and [email protected] can be separate mailboxes, each with independent credentials. An alias such as [email protected] can instead point to one existing mailbox when you only need another receiving address. Choose the mailbox option before paying if the new user must send and receive independently.
What you need before adding an account
- Access to the Hostinger account that owns the email plan.
- The domain you want to use and a mailbox name, such as
[email protected]. - A password for the new mailbox.
- Available mailbox capacity on the current plan, or budget to buy extra slots.
Check the actual plan and domain shown in hPanel before checkout. Hostinger’s products and allowances differ by plan and can change, so the allowance displayed in your account is the authoritative figure for your subscription and purchase date.

How to add another mailbox on the same domain
The following procedure is Hostinger’s direct workflow for purchasing and creating additional accounts.
- Sign in to the Hostinger Dashboard. Open the account that contains the domain’s email service.
- Open Emails. Select the relevant email plan and domain.
- Open Email Accounts. Look for the option to manage the plan’s mailboxes.
- Choose Buy more mailboxes. Select the number of additional slots you need and complete checkout. Buying slots increases the number of mailboxes you can create; it does not automatically create addresses.
- Return to Mailboxes. Select the option to create a mailbox, enter the new mailbox name and password, and save it.
- Sign in or connect an app. The new address can be used in Hostinger Webmail or connected to a supported desktop or mobile email client using the settings Hostinger provides for your plan.
After creation, Hostinger says, “The new mailbox will appear on the Mailboxes list.” If it is not visible, refresh the page and confirm that you are viewing the same plan and domain used during checkout.
Creating several accounts
When you buy multiple slots, repeat the mailbox-creation step for each address. A slot is capacity, not a pre-filled account: an unused slot remains available until you assign it a mailbox name. Use a naming scheme that makes ownership clear, for example [email protected] for people and [email protected] for a team function.
How to add email for a different domain
A mailbox on example.net cannot be added to an email plan associated with example.com. Hostinger’s rule is explicit: “To add mailboxes for a different domain, you will need to purchase a separate email plan, as each email plan can only be associated to one domain.”

- Open Emails in the Hostinger Dashboard.
- Choose the option to purchase an email plan for the other domain.
- Select the plan and mailbox quantity offered for that domain, then complete checkout.
- Open the new plan, select Email Accounts and Mailboxes, and create the addresses.
Buying another slot on the first domain will not solve a second-domain requirement. Treat the second domain as a separate email-plan purchase and verify that the domain is attached to that plan before creating addresses.
How Hostinger charges for additional mailboxes
Extra mailbox charges are tied to the expiration date of the existing email plan. All mailboxes on that plan share the same expiration date, so an account added part-way through the term is not normally given a new, independent end date.
Hostinger publishes this calculation:
Additional mailbox price = [ (Number of months purchased × Monthly price) / (Full plan time ÷ Time left until plan expiration) ] × Number of extra email accounts.

In practical terms, the amount depends on four values: the plan’s monthly price, the number of months in the selected term, how much of the original term remains, and how many extra accounts you add. Because the charge is connected to the remaining term, the checkout total can differ depending on when you add the mailboxes. The exact amount shown in your Dashboard is the one to use; the available data does not establish a universal currency price or a fixed fee that applies to every region and plan.
What happens when the plan renews
Every mailbox on the plan follows the plan’s common expiration date. Before renewal, review the mailbox count and storage shown in hPanel so that renewal covers the number of accounts you intend to keep. If you bought extra slots only for a short-term need, remove unused mailboxes or adjust the plan before the next billing event according to the controls available in your account.
Mailbox limits and storage
Hostinger’s limits page lists these figures for the named Business Email tiers:
| Plan | Mailbox quantity | Listed storage | What the limit means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Business Starter | As many email accounts as purchased | 10 GB — Hostinger current limits table | You can create up to the number of mailbox slots purchased. |
| Business Premium | As many email accounts as purchased | 50 GB — Hostinger current limits table | You can create up to the number of mailbox slots purchased. |
The storage figures above are the values listed by Hostinger for those tiers, not a promise that every other Hostinger product has the same allowance. Hostinger advises checking hPanel because limits can change.

Mailbox, alias, extra slot or another plan?
| What you want | Correct option | Login and inbox | Billing and domain |
|---|---|---|---|
| A second person needs a private address on the current domain | Buy one additional mailbox slot, then create a mailbox | Independent password and inbox | Uses the current plan and its shared expiration date |
| You need another public-facing address that reaches the same user | Create an alias | Uses the existing mailbox; no separate login or inbox | Does not add a mailbox slot |
| You need an address on another domain | Purchase a separate email plan for that domain | Independent mailboxes under the new plan | Each plan is associated with one domain |
| You have reached the allowance of a newer web/cloud hosting tier | Check the tier’s upgrade or Business Email option in hPanel | Depends on the product’s mailbox model | Allowance and upgrade terms are shown for the actual plan |
The key distinction is whether the recipient needs an independent login. An alias is suitable for alternate names, while an additional mailbox is required for a separate user, inbox or password.
Use the new account after it is created
Hostinger Webmail
Webmail is the simplest first test because it confirms that the mailbox exists independently of any third-party application. Sign in with the new full email address and the password you set during creation. Send a test message to an outside address and reply to it to verify both outgoing and incoming delivery.
Desktop and mobile clients
Hostinger allows the mailbox to be connected to an email client. Use the server names, ports, encryption choices and authentication details shown in Hostinger’s current setup instructions for your plan rather than copying settings from another provider. Enter the complete email address as the username when the client asks for one, and save the password in the client’s account settings.
If Webmail works but an app does not, the mailbox itself is usually present and the issue is in the client configuration. Recheck the incoming and outgoing server fields, encryption mode, username and password, then remove and add the account again if the app retained an old configuration.

There is no “Buy more mailboxes” button
- Confirm that you opened the correct domain and email plan under Emails.
- Check whether the product uses fixed mailbox allowances. Newer web/cloud hosting tiers may require an upgrade instead of a per-slot purchase.
- Refresh hPanel and review the plan’s current allowance; Hostinger notes that limits can change.
Checkout succeeded but no address appears
- Buying additional slots does not create addresses automatically. Return to Mailboxes and create each mailbox.
- Verify that you are viewing the same domain and plan used at checkout.
- Refresh the Mailboxes list. Hostinger states that a successfully created mailbox appears there.
The new address is on the wrong domain
An email plan can be associated with only one domain. If the address must use a different domain, purchase or open the separate plan for that domain instead of trying to move the slot across plans.
The total is higher or lower than expected
Use the plan’s expiration date and remaining term when checking the amount. Hostinger prorates the additional-mailbox calculation against the time left on the existing plan, and the number of accounts multiplies the result. A quote made at the start of a term will not necessarily match one made later.
The account can receive mail but cannot send
- Test the address in Hostinger Webmail first.
- In the email client, verify the outgoing-server username is the full mailbox address and that authentication is enabled.
- Use the current Hostinger server and security values for the plan; do not assume that incoming settings can be reused for outgoing mail.
A practical decision checklist
- Need a separate login? Buy a mailbox slot. If not, consider an alias.
- Same domain? Add slots to the existing plan. Different domain? Buy a separate email plan.
- Check the product type. Business Starter and Business Premium list mailbox quantities based on slots purchased; newer web/cloud tiers may have fixed allowances.
- Check storage. The listed figures are 10 GB for Business Starter and 50 GB for Business Premium; verify the current value in hPanel.
- Check timing. Extra-mailbox charges follow the existing plan’s expiration date and are calculated using the remaining term.
- Create the addresses. Purchasing capacity is separate from creating each mailbox.
- Test access. Sign in through Webmail, send and receive a test message, then configure any desktop or mobile clients.
What to verify before confirming payment
- The domain displayed in checkout is the domain that should own the new addresses.
- The number of additional slots matches the number of independent mailboxes required.
- The plan’s expiration date and the proration shown in checkout are acceptable.
- The storage and mailbox allowance shown in hPanel match the product you actually purchased.
- You are not paying for a mailbox when an alias would meet the requirement.
Bottom line
For another Hostinger address on the same domain, purchase the required mailbox slots under Emails → Email Accounts, then create the addresses from Mailboxes. Use an alias only when the address can share an existing inbox and login. For a different domain, buy a separate email plan. The cost of extra slots is tied to the current plan’s remaining term, and the mailbox and storage limits must be checked against the exact product shown in hPanel.
