Acer also claims that it can support local AI models with up to 120 billion parameters, but that figure is a vendor capability claim rather than an independent benchmark.
What the Acer Veriton RI110 is
The Veriton RI110 is designed as a compact workstation rather than a basic office mini PC. Acer is targeting Edge AI and IoT developers, engineers, content creators, enterprise power users and academic researchers who need a small system for local or hybrid workloads. The machine runs Windows 11 Pro or Windows 11 Home, depending on configuration, and is small enough to mount behind a display or on a desk using its VESA-compatible mounting option.

These are announced specifications, not a promise that every retail unit will include the maximum configuration. Acer says specifications and availability can vary by region, so the exact memory, SSD, operating-system edition and ports should be checked against the local product listing.

How much RAM and storage does it have?
96GB of LPDDR5X memory
The highest announced memory configuration is 96GB of dual-channel LPDDR5X. That capacity is useful for development environments, large datasets, several virtual machines, image-generation workflows and running more demanding local models without immediately moving data to a server. LPDDR5X is the type of low-power memory specified by Acer; the announcement does not describe user-replaceable memory, so buyers should treat the selected capacity as a configuration decision and confirm upgrade options before ordering.
Regional SSD limits
Acer’s global announcement describes an M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4 SSD configuration of up to 4TB. The company’s DACH announcement lists up to 1TB for that regional version. This is a real regional difference, not a contradiction that can be resolved by assuming every unit has 4TB. If you need a large internal project library, verify the SKU sold in your country and whether the storage is user-accessible.
Can the RI110 run AI models locally?
Acer advertises support for AI models with up to 120 billion parameters. That statement indicates the platform is intended for local inference and experimentation, but it does not specify a universal quantization level, context length, tokens-per-second rate, model family or quality target. A parameter count alone cannot tell you how quickly a model will run or how much memory a particular format needs.
In practical terms, the processor, Arc B390 graphics and available system memory can be used for local inference, development and hybrid workflows in which sensitive data stays on the workstation while larger jobs are sent to a server. Actual results will depend on the software stack, model quantization, driver support, context size and whether computation runs on the CPU, GPU or both. Acer has not published independent benchmark results for the RI110 in the announcement material.

Acer Qubi Claw
The RI110 supports Acer Qubi Claw, which Acer describes as a local agentic-AI solution. Its listed functions include a sandbox environment, one-click installation, scheduled tasks, online research, travel planning, and audio transcription and translation. These are vendor-described capabilities; the announcement does not provide independent accuracy, speed or privacy testing. Organizations should evaluate which features can access outside services and configure network permissions accordingly.
What OCuLink adds
The dedicated OCuLink connector is the RI110’s most important workstation feature. Acer rates its PCIe 4.0 x4 link at up to 64Gbps and says it can attach an external GPU or high-speed NVMe storage. In Acer’s words, “OCuLink connectivity delivers up to 64 Gbps bandwidth for desktop-class GPU and storage expansion in a compact design.”
Using an OCuLink eGPU
An OCuLink eGPU setup can provide graphics hardware beyond the integrated Arc B390 for machine-learning experiments, 3D rendering, video work or applications that benefit from a desktop-class GPU. The RI110 itself does not include an external GPU, enclosure or power supply. You would need a compatible OCuLink eGPU dock or enclosure, a graphics card, adequate card power and the correct cable.
- Confirm that the dock exposes a PCIe 4.0 x4 OCuLink connection rather than a mechanically similar connector with different wiring.
- Check the enclosure’s graphics-card length, slot width and auxiliary power limits.
- Verify that the dock’s power supply can handle the chosen card and the system’s startup behavior.
- Install current Intel, NVIDIA or AMD drivers as appropriate and check whether your application supports an external GPU on Windows 11.
- Expect less bandwidth than a full desktop PCIe x16 slot; the benefit is expansion in a tiny system, not identical performance to a conventional tower.
Using an OCuLink NVMe enclosure
An OCuLink NVMe enclosure can turn the RI110 into a compact workstation with a fast external project or scratch drive. This is useful when the regional internal SSD limit is too small or when you want to separate operating-system storage from datasets. Check the enclosure’s PCIe generation, thermal design, supported M.2 sizes and whether it requires its own power adapter. A PCIe 4.0 x4 connection can be fast, but the enclosure, SSD controller, cable and thermal throttling determine the sustained result.

Ports, displays and networking
The RI110 has HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort for monitors, along with two USB4 Type-C ports. USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and Type-C ports cover ordinary peripherals and fast external drives, while USB 2.0 ports remain useful for keyboards, security keys and other low-bandwidth devices. The exact number and physical placement of each USB connector should be confirmed in the regional specification sheet because Acer’s announcement lists the port types rather than a complete rear-panel diagram.
Two wired network interfaces distinguish the RI110 from many ordinary mini PCs: one 10GbE port and one 2.5GbE port. The faster port can connect to a high-speed storage server or workstation network, while the second can serve a separate network, management segment or ordinary switch. Wi-Fi 7 provides wireless connectivity where compatible access points are available, and Bluetooth 5.4 handles supported keyboards, headsets and other accessories.
Size, mounting and security
At 138.5 × 131.3 × 52.1mm and approximately 0.63kg, the RI110 occupies little desk space and can be mounted behind a compatible monitor or display using VESA hardware. Its 120W AC adapter keeps the computer itself compact, but an OCuLink graphics setup will require a separate, substantially larger power arrangement.

Who is the RI110 for?
Edge AI and IoT developers
Developers can prototype devices and inference pipelines locally, test network behavior and validate workloads without immediately deploying to a cloud environment. The dual LAN design is useful when one interface connects to a test network and the other to an upstream service or lab network.
Engineers and content creators
The Core Ultra processor, Arc graphics, high memory ceiling and optional external GPU give engineering and creative applications room to grow. The OCuLink path is particularly relevant to users who need occasional rendering or compute acceleration but do not want a permanently large desktop chassis.
Enterprise and office power users
Small dimensions, VESA mounting, fingerprint sign-in and fast wired networking suit compact desks, meeting rooms and edge deployments. Organizations handling confidential documents can keep processing inside their own network, while still using hybrid services when policy permits.
Academic and research teams
A small, light workstation can be shared between researchers or moved between classrooms and laboratories. Local experiments are convenient for reproducible demonstrations and for data that should not leave the institution. Researchers should still validate software compatibility, model licenses and actual throughput before standardizing on the platform.

Availability and price
Acer announced North American availability for Q4 2026 and EMEA availability for Q1 2027. Acer’s German release also places expected availability in Q1 2027. These are planned windows rather than a guaranteed launch day, and the company says exact specifications and availability vary by region.
A retail price has not been announced. That makes the total cost of an RI110 system impossible to judge today, especially for buyers considering an OCuLink eGPU, dock, graphics card, cable or external NVMe enclosure. When pricing appears, compare the complete system-plus-expansion cost rather than comparing the mini PC alone with a desktop tower.
What to verify before buying
- Regional SKU: Confirm the processor, operating-system edition, memory capacity and internal SSD limit on the listing for your country.
- Upgrade plan: Decide whether the factory memory and storage meet your expected workload, since the announcement does not promise user-upgradeable LPDDR5X memory.
- AI software: Check that your framework supports Intel Arc graphics or the external GPU you plan to use, and verify model-memory requirements instead of relying only on the 120-billion-parameter claim.
- Expansion budget: Add the price of an OCuLink dock, graphics card, power supply, cable and cooling before comparing alternatives.
- Network equipment: A 10GbE port is useful only if your switch, cabling and storage endpoint support the required speed.
- Mounting and support: Confirm VESA bracket compatibility, airflow clearance and the warranty terms for any external expansion hardware.
What is still unknown
- No independent performance benchmarks, thermals, acoustic measurements or sustained AI-throughput figures have been published with the announcement.
- No retail price or confirmed store listing is available yet.
- The exact memory and SSD combinations, port layout and Windows edition may differ by region.
- Acer’s 120-billion-parameter statement does not establish speed, model quality, quantization or support for every 120-billion-parameter model.
Bottom line for prospective buyers
The Veriton RI110 is notable because it combines a very small chassis with unusually serious connectivity: up to 96GB of LPDDR5X, dual high-speed Ethernet and a PCIe 4.0 x4 OCuLink link. That makes it more adaptable than a sealed mini PC for developers, researchers and creators who may eventually need an external GPU or fast NVMe enclosure. Its suitability for a specific AI workload will depend on software support and real-world testing, while price and final regional configurations remain unresolved until Acer publishes retail details.
