The A.H. Beard King Koil Positano is a firm-feel pocket-spring mattress, but CHOICE marks it discontinued and current Positano availability has not been confirmed. The published Queen specifications also conflict: CHOICE lists a 36.5 cm-high, 53 kg mattress, while A.H. Beard’s brochure gives 28 cm and 39 kg for its Medium-feel configuration. That makes it important to verify the exact model, feel and measurements with a seller before considering a purchase.
What kind of mattress is the Positano?
CHOICE describes the Positano as an in-store retail spring mattress with a pocket-spring core and a claimed firm feel. Its Queen listing specifies 266 springs per square metre, 14 layers and four side handles. CHOICE labels the model discontinued. CHOICE’s Positano listing

What materials and features does A.H. Beard describe?
The manufacturer’s Positano brochure describes Tencel, Aerocomfort technology, gel-infused memory foam and a Reflex Max support system using Variable Response Springs. Those terms describe A.H. Beard’s stated design and construction; they are not independent findings about comfort, durability or pressure relief. A.H. Beard’s Positano brochure

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Why do the Queen measurements disagree?
The available sources give different Queen dimensions and weights, and do not explain the discrepancy. The brochure’s figures apply to its Medium-feel basis and it says dimensions and weight vary slightly by feel; CHOICE’s Queen listing does not provide an explanation for its different measurements.
| Source and configuration | Queen dimensions | Queen weight |
|---|---|---|
| CHOICE product listing | 204 × 153 × 36.5 cm | 53 kg |
| A.H. Beard brochure, Medium-feel basis | 203 × 153 × 28 cm | 39 kg |
Do not assume one set of figures is a correction of the other. If height, weight, bed-frame clearance or delivery access matters, ask the retailer to confirm the exact Positano version and its measurements in writing.

CHOICE’s surfaced listing provides specifications and the claimed firm feel, but it does not expose a model-specific expert score or detailed test results. The brochure explains the manufacturer’s design claims, but does not establish independent performance.

What to verify before buying a remaining unit
- Confirm that the mattress is the Positano model, rather than another product in the King Koil collection, and that the seller has stock.
- Ask which feel configuration is being sold; the brochure says dimensions and weight vary slightly by feel.
- Get the exact size, height and weight for that configuration, given the conflicting Queen figures.
- Ask for the current price, delivery terms and return or warranty conditions directly from the seller; historical CHOICE price fields do not establish current terms.
- Request model-specific independent test information if performance evidence is important to your decision; the available sources do not provide detailed Positano test outcomes.
