Milwaukee’s heated workwear lineup includes jackets, a hoodie, a vest and heated gloves, plus shell options for wet weather. The right choice depends on where you want warmth, how you layer, and which battery the garment uses. Milwaukee’s current product pages describe specifications, but do not establish that these items are new for winter 2026 or provide independent warmth and durability test results.
Compare Milwaukee’s heated workwear options
These products serve different roles rather than functioning as interchangeable jackets. Runtime figures below are Milwaukee’s published claims; they are not independent test results. The product pages do not state a publication date for these specifications.

Choose a heated jacket for a standalone outer layer
The TOUGHSHELL and AXIS Hooded Jacket both have published low, medium and high runtimes of 12, 6 and 3 hours. The TOUGHSHELL lists separately controlled chest, back and pocket heat zones. The hooded AXIS places heat at the chest, back and shoulders and uses ripstop fabric. Choose by preferred coverage, hood and construction rather than assuming their warmth is identical.
#1 Best Overall
- Heat Core Body Areas: Durable carbon fiber heating zones distribute and maintain heat to chest and back
- Rugged Construction: Durable cotton exterior and waffle-weave polyester lining withstand tough outdoor conditions and keep heat close to body
- Adjustable Heat: One touch heat control provides the right heat for any weather
- A range of proprietary material solutions drastically outperform traditional work wear with materials made to be stronger, lighter, and more flexible than what exists today; Washer and dryer safe
Choose the hoodie or vest for layering
The hoodie gives you a full-zip, lined layer with chest and back heat. The AXIS vest also heats the chest and back but leaves the arms uncovered, making it a core layer option when you want to wear a separate jacket over it. Milwaukee lists 8, 4 and 2 hours for both models across low, medium and high settings.
Choose gloves or liners for hand warmth
The winter gloves heat the back of the hand and fingers and include reinforced high-wear areas. The liners are intended to sit beneath work or winter gloves. Both use Milwaukee’s separately specified Heated Gloves 2Ah Battery, model 48-11-2320; do not assume an M12 garment battery will power them.

Add a rain shell when your system needs weather protection
The HYDROBREAK shell is designed to be worn with compatible M12 Heated AXIS jackets. Milwaukee specifies 10K mm waterproofness, a 2.5-layer construction and pass-through access to the heat controls. The shell page states up to 8 hours of core-zone operation on a REDLITHIUM CP2.0 battery; that figure is a manufacturer claim, not a comparative test against the other garments.
Consider the 3-in-1 system for a combined hoodie and shell
The 2170 pairs a heated hoodie with a ripstop shell. Milwaukee publishes separate runtime claims for low, medium and high on an M12 REDLITHIUM 2.0 compact battery. Because the cited page is titled “Jacket Only,” check the specific seller listing for the battery and power-source components before buying.

Check batteries, fit and kit contents before buying
- Match the power source: the cited jacket, hoodie and vest listings specify M12 compatibility. The winter gloves and liners instead list the Heated Gloves 2Ah Battery, model 48-11-2320.
- Confirm what comes in the package: included batteries and power components can depend on the exact product configuration and seller listing. The 3in1 page cited here is jacket-only.
- Plan around the setting you expect to use: Milwaukee’s published runtime varies by garment and heat setting. A high-setting figure is not the same as the low-setting figure, and the pages do not establish a single set of conditions for all products.
- Check size and layering room: Milwaukee lists men’s and women’s variants in its heated-gear range. Consult current size guidance and consider what you will wear over or under the garment.
Milwaukee Tool says its Heated Gear is developed with feedback from users across the trades through continuous jobsite research. That describes the company’s development approach; it does not substitute for independent comparative testing.
