OxygenOS includes several tools that are easy to miss because they live inside Special features, the Smart Sidebar, screenshot handling, or the phone’s focus tools. The five most useful are File Dock for moving rich content between apps, Smart Sidebar for one-swipe tools and floating apps, Split View with a third floating app, Auto Pixelate 2.0 with limited photo access, and Zen Space, the current name for the Zen Mode concept.
The menu paths below use OxygenOS 14 labels. OnePlus changes availability by model, hardware, software version, supported app and region, so a missing option does not necessarily mean your phone is faulty. Search Settings for the feature name when your build uses a different path.

1. File Dock: a temporary cross-app shelf
File Dock is best understood as a temporary holding area for rich content. Instead of copying a paragraph, switching apps, pasting it, then repeating the process for an image or attachment, you can collect the items in the dock and retrieve them in another app. The OxygenOS 14 manual describes support for text, images and files, with destinations such as Notes, Mail, My Files, Photos, WeChat and other compatible apps.
Turn on File Dock
- Open Settings.
- Go to Special features > Smart Sidebar > File Dock.
- Enable File Dock. If the label is absent, use the Settings search field for “File Dock” or “Smart Sidebar”; the feature may not be included in your model or software build.
Move content through the dock
- In a source app, press and hold the text, image or file until it becomes a movable item. Selection behavior depends on the source app.
- Drag the item to the File Dock area and release it. Repeat for any additional items you need.
- Open the destination app, then swipe in the Smart Sidebar to reveal the dock.
- Drag an item out of File Dock and release it where the destination app accepts it, such as a note, message, mail draft or folder.
Because the dock is temporary, treat it as a transfer aid rather than permanent storage. Confirm that the destination app accepted the item before leaving the task, especially when moving large files or content from an app with unusual sharing rules. A source app can also prevent dragging, and an app may accept text but not images or files.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
2. Smart Sidebar: one swipe for tools and floating apps
Smart Sidebar is the control surface behind several of these features. OnePlus describes it in the OxygenOS 14.0 User Manual this way: “Smart Sidebar is a convenient tool that can be opened by swiping from the side of the screen.” Once enabled, it is available over other interfaces, so you do not have to return to the home screen to launch a shortcut.
Enable and customize the sidebar
- Open Settings > Special features > Smart Sidebar.
- Turn on Smart Sidebar and choose the edge handle position if your build offers that control.
- Swipe inward from the edge to open it.
- Use the edit control in the tray to add, remove or reorder tools and apps.
The default tool set documented by OnePlus includes Screen translator, Screenshot, Screen recording and Quick note. You can edit the list so the first swipe exposes the actions you actually use. File Dock appears in the same ecosystem when enabled, but it is a separate setting.
Use floating apps
Some entries in the sidebar open as floating windows rather than taking over the entire display. This is useful for checking a message while reading, keeping a calculator over a document, or taking a quick note during a call. Not every app supports a floating window, and the available controls can change with screen size and software version. If an app opens full-screen, the limitation is usually compatibility rather than a disabled sidebar gesture.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
3. Split View with a third floating app
Split View places two supported apps on the screen at the same time, with each pane running independently. OxygenOS also documents a further multitasking arrangement: one additional supported app can appear in a floating window above the two split panes. That gives you three active app surfaces without repeatedly switching through Recent tasks.
Start a two-app split
- Open the first app and enter Recent tasks.
- Use the app’s menu in the Recent tasks view and choose the split-screen or Split View option when it is offered.
- Select the second supported app for the remaining pane.
On phones that expose the function through Smart Sidebar, you can instead open the sidebar and drag a supported app into the split area. The exact gesture and menu wording vary by model, so use the Recent tasks route if the sidebar does not show a split target.
Add the floating third app
- With Split View active, open Smart Sidebar.
- Drag a compatible app from the sidebar into the display.
- Position the resulting floating window over the split panes and use its controls to move, resize or dismiss it.
Three-app multitasking is constrained by the phone’s display, memory and app policies. Video, camera, banking and games commonly restrict background or floating behavior. If the split command is missing, try a different pair of apps and check for a system update; OnePlus states that supported apps and operation paths differ by model.

4. Auto Pixelate 2.0 and selective photo access
OxygenOS 14 adds two privacy controls that address different points in the sharing process. Auto Pixelate 2.0 helps redact information inside a screenshot, while Photo Permission Management limits how much of your media library an app can receive.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →What Auto Pixelate can hide
When supported, the screenshot editor can automatically pixelate sensitive information, including Instagram and Facebook avatars and nicknames, plus numbers containing four or more digits. This is useful before posting a conversation, receipt, profile page or settings screen. Automatic detection is a convenience, not proof that a screenshot is safe: inspect the complete image for names, email addresses, faces, QR codes and other details that may not match the listed patterns.
A practical workflow is to take the screenshot, open its editing tools, apply Auto Pixelate, zoom into every corner, and only then share or save it. If the option is not present, your model, region or OxygenOS build may not support the 2.0 implementation.

Give an app only part of your photo library
Photo Permission Management allows an app to receive a specified range of media instead of access to the entire library. Use the app’s permission controls in Settings when an app requests photos, and select only the items or range you intend to provide when the system presents that choice. The exact screen can vary by OxygenOS release. Revisit permissions later if an app needs another image; granting broad access once is not required for every task.
These controls solve different risks. Pixelation changes a copy of information you are about to share. Limited photo permissions reduce what another app can browse in the first place. Neither replaces checking a file or screenshot manually before sending it.

5. Zen Space: the new name for Zen Mode
Zen Space is the successor to the feature previously called Zen Mode. OnePlus’ OxygenOS 14 page presents it as a way to focus on a conversation or task, while the OxygenOS 13 page describes Zen Mode as a digital oasis of calm. Both product pages specify five tranquil themes; the count refers to the available visual themes, not a measured productivity result.

Use Zen Space for a defined focus period
- Open Zen Space from the phone’s app list or find it with the Settings search function.
- Choose a theme from the five available options on supported builds.
- Start a session when you are ready to work, talk with someone or put the phone aside.
- Read the on-screen session rules before confirming, because interruption and exit behavior can differ by version.
The important distinction is branding, not a completely unrelated feature: if an older guide says “Zen Mode,” current OxygenOS documentation may call the same focus concept “Zen Space.” If neither name appears, check the phone’s OxygenOS version and regional software package.
Compatibility, privacy and setup checks
OnePlus warns that actual features can vary with model, hardware limitations, software updates, supported apps and region. OxygenOS 14 menu names are therefore examples rather than universal instructions. A feature shown on a current flagship may be absent on an older or carrier-specific build, and an update can change where a setting lives.
- Check the software label: open About device and note the OxygenOS version before following a guide written for another release.
- Search Settings: enter “Smart Sidebar,” “File Dock,” “Zen Space” or “pixelate” when a path does not match your screen.
- Test with compatible apps: split-screen, floating windows and drag-and-drop depend on each app’s support.
- Keep privacy expectations realistic: Auto Pixelate detects the categories documented by OnePlus, not every possible secret in an image.
- Allow for regional differences: OnePlus explicitly notes regional and hardware variation across OxygenOS features.
Which feature should you try first?
- Choose File Dock if your work involves assembling text, screenshots and attachments from several apps.
- Choose Smart Sidebar if you want instant access to translation, recording, screenshots or notes without leaving the current screen.
- Choose Split View and a floating app if you regularly compare information, message while reading, or keep a utility visible.
- Choose Auto Pixelate and selective photo permissions if you share screenshots or install apps that request media access.
- Choose Zen Space if the main problem is interruption rather than app switching.
Start with the feature whose activation path appears on your phone, then test it with non-sensitive content. That quick check reveals whether your model, OxygenOS build and everyday apps support the behavior described here.
