Bootstrap does not include a datepicker component. To add date selection to a Bootstrap 5 form, use the browser’s native <input type="date">, adapt a plain-JavaScript example, or add a third-party picker. The right choice depends on whether visitors need one date, a check-in/check-out range, time slots, or booking availability—not just how the calendar looks.
Colorlib’s 2026 roundup describes 36 examples: 13 of its own calendar and booking examples, five additional 2026 snippets, and 18 CodePen demos by other developers. That is the publisher’s grouping, not an independently audited inventory. The examples span popup and inline calendars, ranges, time selection, and booking flows.

How to choose a datepicker example
Start with the interaction your form requires, then check dependencies, keyboard access, date handling, availability rules, and reuse terms. A compact popup may suit a simple date field; a booking flow often needs a range and clear availability feedback.

- One date: Consider the browser’s native
<input type="date">. It needs no datepicker script and follows the visitor’s locale. - Check-in and check-out: Prefer a range picker that presents the start and end as a related choice rather than two unexplained fields.
- Branded calendar or availability rules: Compare custom and third-party options, and confirm they support the required disabled dates and validation.
- Keyboard and typed input: Check whether visitors can enter dates and navigate without a mouse; do not assume every visual demo is accessible.
- Stored and displayed dates: Keep an unambiguous submitted value and localize only the presentation where appropriate.
- License: Check the terms for the exact snippet or pen you plan to reuse.
Bootstrap’s official site describes it as a front-end toolkit and lists version 5.3.8; date selection comes from the browser, your own code, or another library—not a built-in Bootstrap 5 datepicker. See Bootstrap’s official site.

What the 36 examples cover
Colorlib’s grouping combines its own calendar and booking patterns with independent CodePen demos. The roundup is useful as a pattern gallery, but the examples are not interchangeable: inspect the code and configuration for the specific demo you intend to adapt.
Colorlib calendars and booking flows
The publisher’s descriptions include compact popup calendars, inline calendars, date ranges, time selection, and booking forms for hotel stays, rooms, and car rentals. Calendar V09 adds time selection; V11 is a compact popup with today, clear, and close controls; V12 also has those controls; V13 supports a two-date range; V14 is a minimal popup; V15 is booking-oriented range selection; V16 is inline; V17 adds a result bar to an inline calendar; and V18 combines an inline range calendar with a result area. Colorlib also includes five additional 2026 flows: consultant scheduling, clinic appointments, restaurant reservations, tutoring lessons, and a travel search hero.
Rank #2
These are the publisher’s descriptions, not independent test findings. Colorlib says its rebuilt snippets use HTML, CSS, and vanilla JavaScript without jQuery, a datepicker plugin, or moment.js. Its descriptions specifically call out Calendar V13 for mouse or keyboard range selection, Calendar V15 and V18 for booking-oriented ranges, Calendar V11 for a compact popup, and Appointment Form V04 for a scheduler with host/visitor time-zone conversion.

The other 18 examples in the publisher’s count are CodePen demos from other developers. Their patterns include single-date inputs, check-in/check-out fields, ranges, modal-based selection, and search forms. Treat each as a separate project: inspect the pen’s settings for dependencies, keyboard behavior, date formatting, and license. A Colorlib license does not cover a third-party pen.

Project documentation describes a jQuery API, date formats, and start-date configuration. | Its documentation lists Bootstrap 2.0.4+ and jQuery 1.7.1+ requirements and separate styling for Bootstrap 2, Bootstrap 3, or standalone use. This is legacy-oriented guidance, not verified support for current Bootstrap releases. |

The npm registry search listing describes input and inline modes, ranges, keyboard operation, internationalization, no dependencies, and an MIT license. | The listing identifies version 1.3.4, published in 2023; verify current package details before relying on version-specific claims. |

Make ranges, availability, and submitted dates reliable
Represent a range as a range
For a stay, rental, or appointment window, make the relationship between the first and last date clear. A range control can express both endpoints together; two independent fields can work too, but should communicate which is the start and which is the end.
Validate availability on the server
A calendar can disable past, closed, or fully booked dates to guide a visitor, but the browser interface is not authoritative. Validate the selected dates again on the server before confirming a reservation or appointment; availability may change or requests may bypass the interface.

A date such as 08/09/2026 is ambiguous: its meaning varies by region. Prefer an unambiguous value such as ISO yyyy-mm-dd for submission or storage, and show a locale-appropriate format to the visitor. If a picker lets you configure its display format, make sure that formatting does not turn the submitted value into an ambiguous string.

Licenses and attribution
Colorlib says its own snippets may be used for personal and commercial projects under CC BY 3.0, provided the credit link is retained. Third-party CodePen examples have their own licenses, so check each creator’s terms before copying or adapting a pen. Bootstrap separately lists its code under the MIT license and its documentation under CC BY 3.0; those terms do not automatically apply to picker snippets. See Bootstrap’s getting-started documentation for its project and documentation licensing information.
