How to Get a Monacan IP Address in 2026: A Step-by-Step Guide

A Monaco IP requires a network exit in Monaco. See the local broadband options, what to verify before choosing a VPN, and why lookup results do not guarantee access.

To get a Monacan IP address, your internet traffic must exit through a connection in Monaco. The best-documented option is a local Monaco Telecom connection; its residential fiber offer is reserved for Monaco residents. If you are abroad, a VPN will work only if it currently offers a genuine Monaco exit endpoint—and no provider with a verified endpoint is established here. In either case, an IP lookup is an indicator, not a guarantee that a website will treat you as local.

What a Monacan IP address means

Websites and IP-location databases estimate where a connection is based on its public IP address. Your phone or computer’s location setting does not change that network exit. A router can configure or share an existing connection, but it cannot create a Monaco-based exit on its own.

IP databases can classify the same address differently, and an individual service may separately detect VPN use or enforce residence, account, or licensing rules. A Monaco result in a lookup therefore does not guarantee access.

Ways to get a Monaco IP, compared

Route What it can do Main constraint What to check
Monaco Telecom residential fiber Provides a local fixed-broadband connection through Monaco Telecom. The provider says its residential offer is reserved for Monaco residents. Eligibility, current contract terms, monthly price, and speeds on the residential fiber offer page.
Monaco Telecom business fiber Published business plans list a dedicated fixed IP. Requires a local business service contract; full eligibility terms are not established here. Fixed-IP terms, speeds, support, availability, and total price on the business fiber offer page.
VPN with a Monaco endpoint Could route traffic through Monaco for someone connecting from elsewhere. No current VPN provider with a verified Monaco endpoint is established here. Endpoints, IP reputation, and service acceptance can change. Confirm Monaco as the actual exit location before subscribing; check trial or refund terms, device support, and the target service.
SIM/eSIM or router alone Neither is established as a way to create a Monaco public IP remotely. Roaming traffic may exit in another country, and hardware does not supply a network exit. Check the actual public IP and target-service compatibility rather than assuming the device or SIM determines the country.

If you are physically in Monaco

Residential connection

  1. Check Monaco Telecom’s current residential fiber offer and confirm eligibility. The provider states that this offer is reserved for Monaco residents.
  2. Compare the published plan speeds and contract terms. Monaco Telecom lists up to 500 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload for Basic, 2 Gbps / 300 Mbps for Comfort, 5 Gbps / 500 Mbps for Comfort+, and 10 Gbps / 2 Gbps for Premium. These are provider-published maximums, not independent speed-test results.
  3. Connect through the contracted service and check your public IP with a reputable IP lookup. Treat the reported location as an indication; different databases and websites may classify or handle the address differently.

Business connection and fixed IP

Monaco Telecom’s business fiber page lists a dedicated fixed IP. Its published plans list up to 2 Gbps download / 300 Mbps upload for Comfort, 5 Gbps / 1 Gbps for Premium, and 10 Gbps / 10 Gbps for Platinum. The page lists Comfort at €69.99 ex VAT per month; Premium is promoted at €69.99 ex VAT per month for six months, then €99.99 ex VAT per month. These are provider-published offer figures; confirm current prices, terms, and availability directly with the provider.

If you have a contracted fixed-IP setup, follow Monaco Telecom’s router instructions rather than changing settings at random. Its support documentation describes bridge and passthrough modes: bridge mode assigns the contract’s fixed IP to one device on the local network, while passthrough assigns a dynamic public IP to one device. As the provider puts it, “The Bridge mode involves assigning the fixed IP address of your contract to a device on your local network.”

If you are outside Monaco

  1. Decide whether you need the connection itself to be in Monaco or simply need to use a service while traveling. A SIM or eSIM used abroad does not, by itself, establish that your public IP will be Monaco-based.
  2. Before paying for a VPN, inspect its current server-location list or get written confirmation from the provider that it offers a Monaco exit endpoint. A server in France or another nearby country is not a Monaco IP.
  3. After connecting, check the public IP location and try the exact service you need. For example, sampled IPinfo records show that Monaco-associated addresses can have different VPN-detection labels; a location result alone does not establish whether a service will accept the connection.
  4. If the lookup does not show Monaco or the service blocks the connection, contact the VPN provider. Changing DNS settings or buying a router will not change the country where your traffic exits.

Why an IP lookup may not settle the question

IP location is a database-based classification, not a universal guarantee. Databases can disagree, and services may use their own location or VPN-detection systems. Check both the public IP and the destination service you care about; an address that one lookup associates with Monaco may still be treated differently by a particular site.
