007 First Light’s free Extended Operations update is version 1.3.0. IO Interactive says it adds New Game+, Photo Mode, “00” difficulty, two TacSim activities, new weapons and outfits, and more than 700 fixes and improvements. New Game+ and “00” difficulty unlock after completing the full campaign; an IOI Account is optional for playing, but required by November 1, 2026, to claim the Grey Standard outfit.
What’s in the free 007 First Light update?
IO Interactive identifies Extended Operations as the game’s first major free DLC. Its October 1, 2026 patch notes cover version 1.3.0 and list these additions and changes: official Update 1.3.0 notes.

- New Game+: Replay the campaign with a Suit Loadout and more flexibility to change outfits and gadgets.
- “00” difficulty: A tougher setting where enemies spot you faster and hit harder, while gadget resources restore only a fraction of their use.
- Photo Mode: Pause the action to compose images with camera settings, overlays, filters, visual effects, and poses.
- Two TacSim activities: Valhalla Protocol is an open-road Slovakia activity in the Aston Martin Valhalla, equipped with machine guns and missile launchers. Jungle Heist returns to The Pearl Hotel in Vietnam for a variable attempt to retrieve documents.
- TacSim gear: The update adds the Storm 12 Gauge and Squire Marksman Rifle. Observant Spy, Leisure Beam, and First Class outfits are unlocked by default.
- Weapon handling and fixes: Weapon handling animations have been improved. IO Interactive reports over 700 fixes and improvements covering crashes, progression blockers, clipping, audio, localization, and UI polish.
How do I unlock New Game+ and “00” difficulty?
Complete the entire campaign first. IO Interactive’s patch notes state: “To unlock New Game+, a completed playthrough of the entire Campaign is necessary.” The same campaign-completion requirement applies to “00” difficulty.

New Game+ lets you replay with a Suit Loadout. Use the journal to change outfits and restart from a chosen checkpoint. You can switch gadgets during missions, but only gadgets already unlocked by that point in the story are available.

How do I download the update, and how big is it?
IO Interactive lists the release time as 12:00 UTC / 14:00 CEST and publishes different download sizes by platform. These are the publisher’s figures for version 1.3.0; the actual download or installed space may vary depending on platform state.

The patch notes do not provide a single cross-platform installation procedure or confirm when every storefront’s rollout will appear. If the update is missing or will not install, consult your platform’s support or IO Interactive Player Support.

Do I need an IOI Account?
No account is needed to play. IO Interactive Player Support says, “An IOI Account is not required to play 007 First Light.” Its launch FAQ also says a one-time internet connection is required to download the Day 1 patch; after that, the full main campaign is playable offline. Are more Year One additions guaranteed?
IO Interactive’s Year One page lists planned additions including TacSim content, a G2 Glasses gadget, a story mission, vehicle challenges, Path Tracing for Nvidia GPUs, and other content. It gives no prices or arrival dates for each planned item and warns that plans may change: “No. Year One content is subject to change, and assignments may be reassigned or delayed.” New Game+, Photo Mode, Jungle Heist, and Valhalla Protocol are no longer just planned additions; they shipped in version 1.3.0.
