Launch coverage says it ships as separate blocks for on-site assembly, with 24RU, 36RU and 48RU configurations. Its “up to 124kW” figure refers to cooling capacity—not a confirmed 124kW of IT power in a single fully loaded cabinet. The shipping, dimensions, weight and performance details below are product claims reported at launch, not independently tested results.
How the modular design is intended to work
Instead of transporting a complete, one-piece cabinet, Stack is described as a base block carrying supporting infrastructure, with IT blocks stacked above it and the system assembled at the deployment site. Zella DC’s reported rationale is to make installation easier where doorways, site access, floor loading or the absence of a conventional server room complicate delivery of a large cabinet. DataCenterDynamics reports the company says deployment can take days; that is a vendor claim, not a measured installation time.

DataCenterDynamics reports module dimensions of 1300 × 700 × 580 mm (51.18 × 27.56 × 22.83 in) and gives the Stack 48’s assembled height as 2.48m (8.1ft). The same report lists 50dB operating noise. These are launch-reported product details, not independent measurements; the coverage does not establish that every module or configuration has the same dimensions or noise level.
How much rack space is left for IT?
Cooling equipment occupies rack units, so the cabinet’s headline RU height is not the amount available for IT. StorageReview reports that available IT space ranges from 9RU to 39RU depending on the chosen cooling configuration.

| 6kW + 6kW N+1 | 12RU (StorageReview, 2026) |

N+1 denotes a redundant arrangement in which the reported configuration includes an additional 6kW cooling unit. The cited coverage does not give a complete size-by-size configuration chart, so it is not possible to assign an exact remaining IT capacity to each cabinet and cooling option from these figures alone.

The 124kW headline is a stated ceiling for cooling capacity in launch coverage. It is not evidence that one Stack cabinet supplies 124kW of electrical power to servers, or that a fully populated 48RU Stack can dissipate that load. The reported cooling-block choices include capacities up to 15kW, but the reviewed coverage does not explain the configuration of IT blocks or cooling equipment required to reach 124kW.

- Professional 4U rack design: Server chassis adopts a standard 4U rack structure with a size of 26.6x 16.9 x 7 (650mm x 430mm x 176mm) and a sturdy steel body, which is suitable for data center or enterprise server deployment
- High-capacity storage support: Server chassis is equipped with 24 hot-swappable 3.5-inch drive bays, compatible with SATA II/III and SAS 6G hard drives.Server chassis meets the needs of large-capacity storage and can be expanded through 6 internal SFF-8087 Mini SAS connectors
- Efficient cooling system: 4u rackmount case has built-in 3 120mm intermediate fans and 2 80mm rear ball bearing fans to optimize the air flow design and ensure long-term stable operation
- Wide motherboard compatibility: Rack case supports EEB (12x13), CEB (12x10.5), ATX (12x9.6), Micro ATX (9.6x9.6) and ITX (6.7x6.7) motherboards, which can be flexibly adapted to a variety of configurations
- Multi-function expansion options: Server rack case provides a 4-pin Molex power adapter option (additional purchase required), supports ATX standard power supply or CRPS 2U redundant power supply, and can be equipped with an optional OS drive mounting bracket. Rackmount pc case meets different needs
Before planning a deployment around that ceiling, ask Zella DC for the specific configuration, usable IT rack space, electrical draw, operating requirements and conditions behind the cooling figure. The complete 48RU electrical draw and an independently tested performance result are not established in the launch reporting.
Where Stack fits in Zella DC’s range
Stack is described as an indoor product at launch. Zella DC’s separate Zella Pro is also an indoor micro data center, while Outback is the company’s standalone outdoor line. Those products should not be treated as Stack variants.

StorageReview notes that Zella DC compares Stack’s weight with Zella Pro, but the reported examples do not support a simple one-quarter-weight comparison: the cited 24RU Pro is 160kg versus a 24RU Stack at 115kg, while the cited 50RU Pro is 348kg versus a 48RU Stack at 185kg. StorageReview cautions that modular shipment changes the handling comparison: the weight of assembled cabinets is not the same question as whether separate blocks can be moved through a constrained site.
What to confirm before specifying one
- Which cabinet size and cooling configuration match the required IT load, and how many rack units remain for IT in that exact build.
- The complete electrical draw, site power and operating requirements for the proposed configuration; the launch reports do not provide a full 48RU draw.
- Module package dimensions, weights, carrier acceptance and delivery arrangements for the destination. The standard-courier description is a reported company claim, without carrier or package criteria.
- Site access, floor loading, assembly scope and installation schedule. The reported “days” deployment timing is attributed to the company, not presented as a guaranteed result.
- Price and lifecycle costs, which are not established in the cited launch coverage.
