First establish whether you are watching a playlist or sending prerecorded playlist content to YouTube as a live stream through an encoder: playback recovery and live-stream recovery are different problems.
First identify which kind of stream stopped
- Watching a playlist: YouTube is playing videos on your device. Troubleshoot playback, device, and internet access.
- Broadcasting a playlist: An encoder is sending prerecorded video to YouTube Live. Check the encoder, YouTube Live Control Room, and the connection from the encoder to YouTube.
YouTube says a connectivity disruption can break a live stream, but its reviewed guidance does not document JioFiber IP changes as a specific cause of this failure. Treat the IP change as a clue to investigate, not a diagnosis. YouTube describes the general risk directly: “A disruption on your connectivity could mean a broken stream.” (YouTube Help: Streaming tips)

If you were watching a YouTube playlist
- Retry over a different connection. Temporarily switch to mobile data or another internet connection, then replay the video. If it works there but not on JioFiber, that points toward a connection-path issue; it does not by itself establish why the issue occurred. (YouTube playback troubleshooting)
- Reconnect the device and app. Close and reopen YouTube, reconnect the device to the network, and retry. If needed, restart the device.
- Try another device. If only one device fails, focus on that device or app. If several devices fail on JioFiber, investigate the connection.
- Check whether other services are affected. If browsing and other apps also lose connectivity, use Jio’s connection diagnostics and support options rather than changing YouTube settings. (JioFiber FAQs; Jio troubleshooting)
YouTube’s general playback troubleshooting recommends trying another connection and replaying. It does not establish that a playlist will automatically resume at the same item or timestamp after an IP change. You may need to select the video again and find your place manually.

- Check the live status in YouTube Studio. Open YouTube Live Control Room and inspect the stream status or stream health. Check the encoder’s output status and logs at the same time. YouTube’s stream troubleshooting guidance recommends checking both the stream and encoder when diagnosing ingest problems. (Troubleshoot your YouTube live stream)
- Confirm the encoder can reach the internet. If the encoder reports that it is outputting but YouTube is not receiving the stream, test the encoder computer’s outbound connectivity. Check that other devices on JioFiber can connect too. YouTube recommends testing upload bandwidth, leaving headroom rather than using all available upload capacity, and monitoring the encoder. - Restore the connection, then verify the encoder destination. Check that the encoder is configured with the intended YouTube Live server URL and stream key. - Do not reset the stream key just because the IP changed. YouTube documents creating a new key for an encoder start error; it is not documented as a remedy for an IP change. Reset it if you have evidence of a key or start error, or suspect the key has been compromised, then update the encoder to use the replacement. For streams that must continue through a failure
For an important broadcast, prepare a backup encoder and test failover before you need it. YouTube recommends a planned test: stop the primary encoder or disconnect its Ethernet, then confirm that playback rolls over to the backup. A tested backup addresses continuity planning; it does not diagnose why a particular JioFiber interruption happened. (YouTube streaming tips; YouTube live streaming tips)

Keep a local recording as well. YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and recommends a local archive as backup. An archive preserves a copy; it does not keep the live session running or restore it after an interruption. (Archive live streams)

Use Jio’s official diagnostics if multiple devices or services lose connectivity, or if the connection remains unreliable after the stream stops. Jio lists connection-health diagnostics, troubleshooting, and support routes through MyJio, chat, and service requests. Its help page also provides FAQs and how-to support.
