What collaborators can change
- A collaborator can add videos and remove videos they added.
- The playlist owner can also remove a collaborator’s additions. Other collaborators cannot remove those contributions.
- Turning off collaboration removes all collaborators from the playlist.
- A collaborator can leave by removing the playlist from their library. They then lose the ability to add videos and no longer appear as a collaborator, but their existing videos remain on the playlist.
YouTube describes playlists as able to include “hundreds” of people and “thousands” of videos or songs. Those are approximate descriptions, not exact published limits.

If invitations or additions are not working
- You cannot send an invitation: Check whether YouTube is asking you to make the playlist public or unlisted. A playlist that is not shareable must be changed before the invite can be sent.
- An invitee cannot add a video: Confirm they accepted the invitation and are using the account that received it.
- A collaborator cannot remove someone else’s video: Collaborators can remove their own additions; the owner can remove any collaborator’s contribution.
- A former collaborator’s videos are still there: That is expected. Leaving the playlist removes their collaboration access, not the videos they previously added.
Or let it run in the cloud
Playlist collaboration lets people contribute videos; it does not itself keep a live broadcast running. For a YouTube channel that needs to loop uploaded videos 24/7, StreamNeo runs the stream from the cloud: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; videos stream as uploaded, up to 4K 60fps, at one price per slot; and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly: $9.99 per month. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
