You can send a YouTube Live Redirect only if your channel has more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. The destination channel must also allow your channel to redirect viewers to its live stream. These are separate from YouTube’s general rules for going live, which include channel verification and no live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days.
Who can use YouTube Live Redirect?
Sending viewers
YouTube’s current Live Redirect Help page says creators sending a redirect need more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Exactly 1,000 subscribers does not meet the stated threshold.

A sender can direct viewers to a Premiere or to another channel’s live stream. For a cross-channel destination, the recipient’s permission settings must allow the sender.

Receiving viewers
The recipient channel controls who may redirect viewers to its content. YouTube’s current settings allow permission for channels the recipient subscribes to, all channels, or specific manually approved channels. The subscription-based and manual-approval options can be combined; the all-channels option cannot be combined with either.

YouTube’s current Help documentation allows up to 100 manually approved channels. Channels the recipient subscribes to may redirect by default, unless the recipient’s subscriptions are private. A channel does not need to meet the sender’s subscriber threshold merely to receive a redirect, but the sender still has to qualify to send one.
Live Redirect rules versus general livestream requirements
Live Redirect eligibility is not the same as eligibility to livestream. YouTube’s general live-streaming guide says a channel must be verified and must not have had live-streaming restrictions in the previous 90 days. A person must be at least 16 to livestream. These general requirements do not replace the separate Live Redirect sender threshold.

YouTube’s live-streaming feature comparison lists Live Redirect as available for horizontal live streams and unavailable in the vertical live feed. This distinction is specific to the orientations described in that comparison.

YouTube also provides a route for configuring a Premiere to redirect viewers. YouTube recommends setting up the Premiere before the livestream. Its guidance suggests telling viewers to wait a few seconds after the source stream ends so their screens can reload, pinning a live-chat message on the Premiere page that points to the live stream, and allowing other streamers to redirect to your channel.
