YouTube’s published general limit allows up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key at the same time. Both limits apply together, so a second broadcast is within the published cap if neither limit has been reached. The cited YouTube guidance does not state a separate active-stream limit for Indian channels.
First, clarify what “two streams” means
Two separate live events are different from one event delivered in horizontal and vertical formats. YouTube’s Dual stream feature supports horizontal and vertical viewing for one event, with a shared stream URL and chat. A third-party encoder setup can use a second stream key for the vertical output. That is not the same as scheduling two unrelated live events. YouTube’s live-streaming guidance describes the dual-format option.

How YouTube’s simultaneous limits work
- Per channel: Up to 10 active streams at once.
- Per stream key: Up to 3 active streams at once.
The caps are simultaneous: reaching either one can prevent another stream from starting. For example, a channel with fewer than 10 active streams could still hit the key limit if three active streams are already using the same key. If you need another broadcast, check both the channel’s active count and how many active feeds use its key. YouTube Help gives these general limits; it does not list a different concurrency cap specifically for India.

Eligibility depends on how you go live
For general live streaming, YouTube requires a verified channel and no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. YouTube lists mobile, webcam, encoder, and console as broadcast methods. Mobile streaming has additional requirements, including at least 50 subscribers, channel verification, no live-streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days, live streaming enabled, and a supported device. The 50-subscriber threshold applies to mobile streaming; it should not be treated as a general requirement for every method. YouTube’s mobile-streaming requirements are method-specific.

Plan the upload bandwidth for two separate broadcasts
The active-stream cap is only one constraint. Sending two distinct feeds also requires enough upload capacity for their combined bitrates. YouTube recommends keeping total outgoing bitrate below available upload bandwidth and leaving about 20% headroom. This is bandwidth guidance, not a change to the platform’s concurrency cap. See YouTube’s streaming tips.

- Allow for other devices and applications using the connection; a speed-test result does not guarantee that the full upload rate will remain available during a broadcast.
Two other limits to keep separate
Daily stream creation
YouTube also limits how many streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period. The cited error guidance does not state a numeric daily allowance, so it cannot be used to calculate a daily quota. This is a separate limit from the number of streams active at one time. See YouTube’s live-streaming error messages.

An encoder can support external equipment and more advanced production, but YouTube’s published guidance does not say that purchasing an encoder increases the channel or stream-key limits. Choose broadcast equipment for production needs, not as a way to bypass a platform limit. YouTube explains the encoder’s role in its encoder setup guide.
