Yes, an Indian YouTube channel linked to a Brand Account can generally go live if it meets YouTube’s channel-level requirements. YouTube’s published help pages reviewed do not list a separate eligibility threshold for Indian Brand Accounts. The channel must be verified, have no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days, and the person streaming must be at least 16. Going live from the YouTube mobile app adds a 50-subscriber minimum; YouTube documents webcam and encoder options on computers separately from that mobile requirement.
Requirements to go live from an Indian Brand Account
YouTube describes general live-streaming eligibility at the channel level, not as a special rule for Brand Accounts in India. Its published pages reviewed do not list an India-specific subscriber threshold or Brand Account exemption. That conclusion follows from reading YouTube’s eligibility and permissions pages together; YouTube does not explicitly state that every Brand Account is treated identically in every situation.

No. YouTube lists 50 subscribers as an additional requirement for live streaming in its mobile app. The general requirements page documents other routes, including webcam and encoder streaming from a computer, without listing the mobile subscriber minimum for those methods. That does not bypass the general channel requirements or an active restriction.

What changes for a mobile channel with 50–999 subscribers?
Meeting the 50-subscriber minimum may make mobile live streaming available, but it does not guarantee unrestricted audience reach. YouTube says it may limit the audience size for mobile streams from channels with more than 50 and fewer than 1,000 subscribers, and may set their stream archives to private by default. A channel does not lose mobile live access until it drops below 50 subscribers. After reaching 1,000 subscribers, removal of audience limits may take several weeks.

Which Brand Account users can manage a live stream?
Brand Account permissions determine who can operate the channel; they do not, according to the reviewed pages, replace the channel’s eligibility requirements. YouTube says multiple people can manage a channel linked to a Brand Account through their Google Accounts, and the primary owner can opt into YouTube Studio channel permissions.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to check why a Brand Account cannot go live
- Identify the method. Establish whether the person is trying the YouTube mobile app, a computer webcam, an encoder, or a console. The mobile subscriber threshold applies to the mobile app, not as a stated blanket threshold for every method.
- Check channel eligibility. Confirm the channel is verified and has no live-streaming restriction in the previous 90 days. Review the channel’s current status in YouTube Studio.
- If using mobile, check all mobile conditions. Confirm at least 50 subscribers, Android 8.0+ or iOS 8+, and that live streaming is enabled. Allow up to 24 hours after activation before concluding that the first stream is unavailable.
- Account for limits below 1,000 subscribers. Between 50 and 999 subscribers, mobile streaming may be available while audience size is limited and archives default to private.
- Verify the delegate’s role. Make sure the Google Account signed in has Owner, Manager, or Editor capabilities appropriate to the action. Viewer roles cannot start or end streams.
- Do not switch channels to evade a restriction. YouTube prohibits attempting to stream from another channel while a live-stream restriction is active.
YouTube says a live restriction after a strike can include a 14-day streaming ban. Its policy also notes that streams featuring 13–15-year-olds who are not visibly accompanied by an adult may have live chat disabled, and the account may temporarily lose access to live chat or other features.
