If YouTube rejected your appeal of a Community Guidelines strike, the strike remains and the removed video stays down; YouTube says rejection adds no extra penalty. Check the original notice and YouTube Studio to confirm what restriction you actually have, then follow any case-specific option still shown. YouTube says each strike can be appealed only once, and using another channel to stream while restricted is prohibited.
First, identify what YouTube restricted
A live-stream restriction is not necessarily a Community Guidelines strike. YouTube may turn off live-streaming ability temporarily or permanently for different reasons, including policy violations, age-related requirements, firearms policy, copyright issues, or other account circumstances. The remedy depends on the notice and the account status; do not assume that every restriction is a strike or lasts the same amount of time. YouTube Help: Avoid restrictions on YouTube live streaming

- Read the restriction email. Note the reason YouTube gives, the date, any duration stated, and the appeal or remediation instructions. YouTube says restriction emails include appeal instructions when the creator believes the restriction was mistaken.
- Check YouTube Studio. Open the Dashboard and look for the Channel violations card. If a live stream was interrupted, YouTube also recommends checking Studio for strikes and addressing the issues listed there. YouTube Help: Appeal a Community Guidelines strike or video removal — Computer · YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams
- Classify the issue. Determine whether Studio shows a Community Guidelines strike, whether the stream was interrupted over copyright, or whether the notice describes another live-stream feature restriction. A copyright claim, copyright strike, removed livestream, and general feature disablement are not interchangeable.
If a Community Guidelines strike appeal was rejected
YouTube’s strike appeal process allows one appeal per strike. If that appeal was rejected, the strike remains and the removed video stays down. YouTube states that “There’s no additional penalty for appeals that are rejected”; that means rejection itself adds no penalty, not that the underlying strike or live-stream restriction disappears. The public guidance does not promise a universal second appeal, guaranteed manual review, or guaranteed support response after rejection. If your specific notice or account interface offers a separate contact or support option, follow its directions. Do not assume that you can submit the same strike appeal again.

Deadlines and outcomes
- YouTube says a warning or strike can be appealed within six months of issuance; a content removal can be appealed within one year of its removal date.
- After review, YouTube may restore content and remove the strike, apply an age restriction if the content is permitted only for some audiences, or leave the strike and removal in place.
- YouTube says a strike prevents live streaming for 14 days. That duration applies to a strike, not every kind of live-stream restriction.
If the stream stopped because of copyright
YouTube scans live streams for third-party material, including other live broadcasts. It may replace a stream with a placeholder and warn the creator; if the material continues, YouTube can interrupt or terminate the stream. A copyright or Community Guidelines strike can also terminate a stream. YouTube Help: Copyright issues with live streams
Check Studio for the specific strike or issue and follow the remedy shown there. If you have a license for matched material, ask the rights holder to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. A license alone may not prevent an interruption if the channel has not been allowlisted.

What not to do while the restriction is active
- Do not delete the video to try to erase a strike. YouTube says deletion does not clear a strike and can prevent you from appealing the removal later. YouTube Help: Appeal a Community Guidelines strike or video removal — Computer
- Do not stream from another channel. YouTube prohibits using another channel to livestream while an account is restricted and calls evasion circumvention; it may lead to channel termination. - Do not treat 14 days as a universal timer. Restrictions can be temporary or permanent; rely on the duration and conditions in your own notice.
- Do not assume that a rejected appeal creates another strike. YouTube says a rejected appeal adds no additional penalty, though the original strike remains if the appeal concerned a strike.
Understand any warning or strike context
YouTube says policy training may allow a warning to expire after 90 days; repeating the same violation during that period can result in a strike. Separately, YouTube’s strike-basics guidance says three strikes in the same 90-day period may result in permanent channel removal. These are distinct rules and do not create a second appeal route for a rejected live-stream restriction appeal.
