YouTube’s published guidance says to try again 24 hours after you reach the daily limit for creating live streams. YouTube does not publish a reset timezone, a midnight reset, or an exact time when the limit clears. Wait 24 hours from when you hit the limit rather than relying on local midnight or a particular time zone.
What the daily live streaming limit means
YouTube describes this as a limit on how many live streams a channel can create in a 24-hour period. Its guidance for channels that reach the limit is to try again in 24 hours. The help pages do not say whether the counter is rolling or specify the exact moment it resets.
So if you see a daily-limit message, the reliable public guidance is to wait 24 hours and retry. YouTube does not identify a timezone to use for calculating that wait.
Is the reset at midnight or in a particular timezone?
No published YouTube guidance reviewed for this answer names a timezone or says the quota resets at midnight. Do not assume it resets at midnight in your location, at midnight Pacific Time, or at another fixed daily boundary. The exact reset instant is not stated.

Daily creation limit vs. active-stream limits
The daily limit concerns creating streams over a 24-hour period. It is different from YouTube’s concurrent active-stream caps: up to 10 active streams per channel and up to 3 active streams per stream key. Both active-stream caps apply. Ending a stream may free an active slot, but YouTube does not say that ending one clears the daily creation limit.
Other restrictions that can look like a daily limit
Channel eligibility
For general live streaming, YouTube requires a verified channel with no live streaming restriction in the preceding 90 days. If the error is about eligibility or restrictions rather than the daily quota, waiting 24 hours may not address the underlying issue.

Mobile live streaming setup
Mobile live streaming has separate requirements, including channel verification and at least 50 subscribers. First-time activation can take up to 24 hours. This setup delay is distinct from the daily stream-creation limit.
What to do if you still cannot stream after 24 hours
- Check the exact error. Open YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room and distinguish a daily-limit message from an active-stream cap, an eligibility restriction, or a first-time activation delay.
- Wait the full 24 hours. Use the time you reached the daily limit as your reference; YouTube does not publish a timezone or exact reset timestamp.
- Retry and reassess the message. If the daily-limit error remains, the public guidance does not provide an exact second-by-second reset time or a specific appeal process for this quota. Check YouTube’s current help guidance for the error shown.
Changing timezones, devices, or stream keys is not documented as a way to reset or bypass the channel-level daily limit. YouTube’s published remedy is to try again after 24 hours.
