YouTube Creator Award milestones
YouTube’s Help Center lists four Creator Award tiers. The subscriber threshold determines the tier, but eligibility review is a separate step.

| Award | Subscriber milestone |
|---|---|
| Silver Creator Award | 100,000 |
| Gold Creator Award | 1,000,000 |
| Diamond Creator Award | 10,000,000 |
| Red Diamond Creator Award | 100,000,000 |
These are YouTube’s published program thresholds, not a promise of approval. See YouTube’s Creator Awards eligibility guidance.

Who is eligible for a YouTube Play Button?
YouTube reviews channels against its published criteria and retains discretion over whether to issue an award. Its guidance calls for the following:
#1 Best Overall
- Your channel has reached one of the award milestones.
- Your channel is active, with uploads within the previous six months.
- You have no active Community Guidelines violation and no such violation in the previous 365 days.
- Your channel has no active copyright strikes or violations.
- Your channel follows YouTube’s Terms of Service.
- You have not been rejected or suspended from the YouTube Partner Program (YPP).
- Your channel has not been terminated and is not linked to a terminated account.
- Your content is not deceptive, spammy, or scam-related.
- Your main content is original. Channels centered on compilations, mixes, curation, or substantial use of other people’s copyrighted content or characters may be ineligible.
You do not need to be a YPP member to receive a Creator Award. Meeting the listed criteria still does not guarantee approval; YouTube says awards are granted at its discretion. Check the current official criteria before relying on your eligibility, since program rules and availability may change.
How to get and redeem your Play Button
- Reach a milestone and keep your channel eligible. Continue following YouTube’s policies while you wait for review.
- Allow time for review. If you crossed the threshold within the past week, YouTube’s FAQ says review may take up to 10 days. This is an estimate, not a guaranteed processing time.
- Look for a notification. YouTube may notify you by email or show a banner in YouTube Studio when you can redeem the award.
- Retrieve your redemption code. Follow the notification’s instructions. If you dismissed it or lost the code, use YouTube’s interactive eligibility check to retrieve it.
- Redeem the code on YouTube’s Creator Awards redemption site. Enter shipping information, choose how the channel name should appear on the award, and place the order.
- Use your full legal name for delivery. Watch for the carrier’s tracking email and respond promptly if the carrier asks for additional information.
YouTube Help estimates delivery at about two to three weeks after redemption. Timing can vary; the estimate is not a delivery guarantee. See the Creator Awards FAQs for code recovery and process details.

Shipping, customs, and availability
Additional customs information
YouTube says recipients in Bangladesh, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam may be asked for extra information, such as a tax ID, for customs processing. Separately, YouTube’s FAQ says customs duties or taxes may be payable in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Uzbekistan. These are distinct country lists and requirements; check your order and local rules rather than assuming they apply uniformly.
Where awards are unavailable
YouTube currently lists Creator Awards as unavailable for channels in Belarus, Cuba, Iran, Myanmar, North Korea, Russia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, and Yemen. Availability can change, so confirm the current list on YouTube’s awards page before making plans.

Special cases and award rules
Official Artist Channels
Official Artist Channels can receive awards if they reach a milestone and meet the same eligibility requirements. YouTube’s FAQ says there is one complimentary award per artist per milestone. A related auto-generated topic channel or partner-provided channel that has already received an award does not receive another after its subscriber count merges into the Official Artist Channel.
Award size and additional purchases
YouTube introduced a smaller, lighter award in August 2024, saying the quality and design remained the same. The previous size was discontinued for complimentary redemptions and purchases. YouTube’s FAQ describes a process for requesting additional purchases; consult it for current options. An unofficial replica is not an official YouTube Creator Award.

Personal use
Creator Awards are for personal use. YouTube says awards may not be sold or distributed outside the channel team. Violations can result in forfeiture, future ineligibility for awards, or possible termination of a YouTube or Google account.

- You crossed it recently: YouTube’s FAQ says review may take up to 10 days when the milestone was reached within the last week. Wait for the review and watch your email and YouTube Studio.
- You lost or dismissed the notification: Use YouTube’s interactive eligibility check to retrieve the code if your channel is eligible.
- Your channel has policy or originality concerns: Review the published criteria; a subscriber milestone by itself does not establish eligibility.
- You need shipping or customs guidance: Check the order details and YouTube’s current FAQ. Customs paperwork and possible charges depend on location.
Keep your channel live while you grow
A Creator Award recognizes a subscriber milestone; it does not keep a channel’s live stream running. If your channel also plays uploaded videos as a 24/7 YouTube stream, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service for that specific job: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. The cloud keeps the loop running without a computer or home connection staying on. It streams uploaded video to YouTube, not a live camera feed.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo keeps the stream running with your computer off, supports uploaded video as-is up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Upload your video, add your YouTube stream key, and go live. Start your free day with StreamNeo.
