Choose the items you want to use, then tap Import. You can add multiple videos and images to a project.
Your projects appear under Recent Projects. YouTube Help documents options there to rename, duplicate, or delete a project. See the official project and media-import instructions for the current app workflow.
How do you edit a video in YouTube Create?
Start by deciding which clips and images belong in the video and the order that makes the story easy to follow. The documented Create tools cover basic editing and visual treatments; the exact controls you see can depend on the app version.
Add and style text
Add a text layer for a title, label, or short on-screen explanation. Create supports plain text and text effects. You can change the wording and how long the text appears, style and animate it, drag it to position it, or delete it. Keep text clear of important action and readable on a phone screen. Apply filters, effects, and color adjustments
Use filters to give clips a consistent look, and adjust filter intensity rather than assuming every clip needs the same strength. Create also documents visual effects and color controls for contrast, saturation, and tint. Preview adjustments on the footage: a change that suits one shot may make another look unnatural. YouTube’s editing guidance covers the available visual tools.
Preview the edit
Play the project and check that the sequence makes sense, text stays on screen long enough to read, and the visual treatments look consistent. Make corrections before exporting or uploading.
Can a template make editing faster?
Templates provide a structured starting point if you don’t want to build the edit from scratch. YouTube’s template workflow is to browse templates, choose one, select and import media, then select the useful portion of each clip. You can export the result or open it in the full editor for more changes. YouTube lists categories such as cooking, travel, and fashion; your available options may differ. Music and export length: YouTube Help says Shorts Audio Library music is automatically removed if you export a video longer than 15 seconds.

Direct upload with licensed music: The same help page says direct upload to YouTube can use licensed music clips up to 60 seconds. Music licensing and app behavior can change, so check the current instructions before relying on a particular track or duration.
