For a reliable Hindi devotional music broadcast, use an encoder sending RTMPS to YouTube Live with H.264 video in CBR mode, a two-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC audio. For a simple visual, 720p30 is a practical starting point; YouTube’s H.264 recommendation is 6 Mbps at that setting. Leave about 20% upload headroom, clear rights to each recording, and plan successive sessions under 12 hours if you need YouTube archives: streams longer than that may not be captured.
How do I stream devotional songs live on YouTube 24/7?
You need an eligible YouTube channel, an encoder, a dependable upload connection, and permission to stream each specific recording. A continuous programming schedule is not the same as one uninterrupted YouTube session: long sessions have archive limitations, and a 24/7 setup needs monitoring and a restart plan.

1. Check channel eligibility
- Verify the channel and confirm it has no livestream restriction in the preceding 90 days.
- YouTube says streamers must be at least 16 years old.
2. Create the stream and connect the encoder
- In YouTube Studio, open Live Control Room and create or schedule a stream.
- Copy the server URL and stream key into the encoder’s streaming settings. Use RTMPS when available; YouTube recommends it for secure delivery.
- Treat the stream key like a password. Anyone with it may be able to send a feed to your stream. Do not publish it, and replace it in YouTube Studio if it is exposed.
3. Choose a video mode and configure the encoder
For a static image or restrained devotional visual, 720p30 is a sensible starting point. Consider 1080p30 only if the encoder and upload connection can sustain it reliably. These are practical starting points, not YouTube-prescribed devotional presets; the right choice depends on the visuals, source material and connection.

4. Make sure the connection has headroom
YouTube recommends leaving 20% room above the total outgoing bitrate. That means a 6 Mbps video feed needs more than 6 Mbps of available upload capacity; audio and any backup stream also count toward total outbound traffic. Run an upload-speed test and account for other devices sharing the connection, since their use can reduce the capacity actually available to the encoder. Prefer a stable connection over a higher resolution that regularly drops frames.

5. Test, launch and monitor
- Set up the encoder at least two hours before the planned start, as YouTube recommends.
- Start the encoder at least 15 minutes ahead of the event, then check the preview and stream health in Live Control Room.
- Open the watch page on a phone or another device and confirm picture, audio and access.
- Monitor audio and video during the broadcast. If you use a backup encoder, YouTube advises testing failover by stopping the primary feed.
Software encoders are common; YouTube does not require a hardware encoder for this use. YouTube recommends professional-grade hardware for higher-production events, but does not specify minimum computer hardware for this devotional use case. A local recording and a UPS may help with recovery, but neither is a YouTube requirement.
What bitrate should I use for a 24/7 YouTube live stream?
For H.264, YouTube Help lists 6 Mbps at 720p30 and 10 Mbps at 1080p30. Those recommendations are a useful starting point, not a guarantee that a particular internet connection will sustain a broadcast. Leave about 20% upload headroom above the total outgoing bitrate and test under normal household or studio network use.

- 720p30: lower bandwidth demand and often sufficient for a largely static devotional visual.
- 1080p30: more detail, but needs a steadier, higher-capacity connection and increases data use.
Do not raise bitrate to compensate for an unstable connection. Reduce resolution or bitrate to a sustainable setting, then verify the encoder’s preview and YouTube stream health before relying on it for a continuous schedule.
Can a YouTube live stream run longer than 12 hours?
A stream can run past 12 hours, but YouTube warns that a stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured at all. Streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived. If the YouTube archive matters, end each session before 12 hours and start the next session; also make a local recording and confirm it is being written and is usable. A 24/7 programming plan therefore needs session transitions, not just a single stream key left running.

Can I play Hindi bhajans on YouTube Live without copyright issues?
Not automatically. Devotional lyrics, a traditional melody or a religious subject do not establish that a particular sound recording is free to stream. Rights can apply separately to the composition and to the specific recording. Before going live, confirm that permission covers livestream use, any retained archive or video-on-demand, and the territories where the stream will be available.
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content. Detection can lead to a placeholder image, interruption or termination. Even if you have a license, the rights holder may need to allowlist your channel through Content ID to avoid an interruption. A Content ID claim may also be made against an archived livestream after it ends. No blanket assurance can be made for a song or recording without checking its rights and the applicable permission.
