Yellowstone Spin-Offs: Viewing Order, Episodes, and Where to Stream in the U.S.

A U.S. guide to the Dutton-family series: viewing order, confirmed season and episode details, and where each title streams as of October 7, 2026.

For U.S. viewers, Paramount+’s October 7, 2026 guide lists 1883, 1923, Marshals, and Dutton Ranch as Dutton-family stories on Paramount+. It directs viewers to Peacock for Yellowstone streaming and Paramount Network for reruns; Yellowstone itself is not streaming on Paramount+ according to the guide.

That split is the key to planning a marathon: a shared family name does not guarantee a shared catalog. The most dependable approach is to check each title, distinguish release order from story chronology, and verify the plan rules for any episode you want to watch immediately.

Which shows are part of the Yellowstone story?

The connected series follow different generations and branches of the Dutton family, from the family’s westward journey in 1883 to modern-era stories centered on Kayce, Beth, and Rip. Paramount+’s official viewing-order guide treats these shows as parts of one family timeline, while also saying each can stand on its own.

1883 is the origin story: the Dutton family travels west, establishing the earliest period represented in this group. 1923 follows another generation in the early-twentieth-century Mountain West. The modern continuation is divided between the central Yellowstone story and the newer series that the official guide places after it. Marshals follows Kayce Dutton as he joins a U.S. Marshals unit, while Dutton Ranch follows Beth and Rip as they build a life in South Texas.

The Madison is not part of that timeline. Paramount+ states that the Clyburn family is not connected to the Dutton family tree, so viewers should not insert the drama into a Yellowstone-family watch order. The service’s March 22, 2026 explainer explicitly calls it “not a Yellowstone spinoff.” It can still be watched alongside the other Taylor Sheridan-related titles, but it should be treated as a separate drama rather than as a missing chapter in Dutton history.

Seasons and episodes at a glance

The figures below are the season and episode details listed on Paramount+ pages consulted for this guide. They are catalog facts, not a claim that every show has finished its run; episode totals are included only where the official pages establish them.

Series Official season and episode information Story focus
1883 One season; 10 episodes. The Dutton family’s journey west and the family’s origin story. Paramount+ series page
1923 Two seasons; Paramount+ provides an episode guide for each, but the sources here do not establish a final all-seasons episode total. A later Dutton generation in the early-twentieth-century Mountain West. Paramount+ series page
Yellowstone Not stated in the current viewing guide used here. The central contemporary Dutton-family series. This article’s current U.S. guide points to Peacock for streaming and Paramount Network for reruns, not Paramount+.
Marshals Paramount+ lists two seasons; the sources here do not establish a final total episode count for all seasons. Kayce Dutton joins a U.S. Marshals unit. See the Paramount+ series page.
Dutton Ranch Season one has nine episodes. The listed finale date is July 3, 2026. Beth and Rip build a life in Texas. Paramount+’s episode guide lists the season-one episodes.

For a separate comparison point, The Madison has six episodes in its first season, which premiered March 14, 2026; all six are streaming, according to Paramount+’s Where to Watch The Madison page. Those episodes are available on the same service, but the series is not a Dutton-family installment.

Do not turn the table into an assumed total for the entire franchise. The official pages establish one season and ten episodes for 1883, two listed seasons for 1923, two listed seasons for Marshals, and nine episodes in the first Dutton Ranch season. They do not establish a final all-season episode count for the two-season listings in the current material, so a precise marathon length would require guessing.

Where to stream the shows in the U.S.

Streaming rights are title-specific, even when shows are associated with the same franchise. Paramount+’s U.S. guide, updated October 7, 2026, lists the four connected titles below on Paramount+ and gives different destinations for Yellowstone. Availability can change, so confirm the show’s listing and the service’s current plan terms before subscribing.

Title or group U.S. availability in Paramount+’s October 7 guide Important qualification
1883, 1923, Marshals, and Dutton Ranch Listed on Paramount+. These listings reflect the guide’s U.S. information, not availability in every country.
Yellowstone Peacock for streaming; Paramount Network for reruns. The guide explicitly says Yellowstone is not streaming on Paramount+.
The Madison Season one is streaming on Paramount+. It is a separate drama, not a Yellowstone-universe series.

The current source for the first two rows is Paramount+’s Where To Watch The World Of The Dutton Family guide. Its scope is the U.S.; it should not be used to infer what a viewer can stream in another country. Catalogs may also change after the guide’s update date. A title appearing in a franchise guide is not a promise that it will remain in the same catalog indefinitely.

How new Marshals episodes become available

Marshals has a broadcast-and-streaming schedule rather than one universal release time for every subscriber. The current guide says new episodes air on CBS and stream on Paramount+. Premium subscribers can watch as episodes air; Essential and Premium subscribers can watch on demand beginning the day after broadcast. Check the specific episode listing and plan terms if timing matters, since live availability and on-demand availability are not the same thing.

In practical terms, an Essential subscriber should not assume that a new broadcast is available inside the service at the same moment as it is for Premium. If you are arranging a group watch, check the listing after the CBS broadcast and use the next-day on-demand window when necessary. The guide’s wording applies to the current U.S. presentation and can be revised with future schedule or plan changes.

Choose a viewing order

Paramount+ gives two reasonable ways to approach the connected stories. Release order follows the sequence in which the series debuted; in-universe order starts with the earliest period in the family timeline. Neither is compulsory: the official guide says there is “no wrong way to go” and notes that each series stands on its own.

Approach Order listed by Paramount+ Best fit
Release order Yellowstone → 1883 → 1923 → Marshals → Dutton Ranch Choose this if you want the sequence Paramount+ presents as the shows’ release progression.
In-universe order 1883 → 1923 → Yellowstone → Marshals → Dutton Ranch Choose this if you prefer to begin with the earliest family story and move toward the modern-era continuations.

The order is an editorial viewing suggestion from Paramount+’s May 16, 2026 guide, not a rule about what must be watched first. The newer connected stories are placed after Yellowstone in both sequences; the guide describes Marshals as taking place after it and places Beth and Rip’s Dutton Ranch story in South Texas. Do not add The Madison to either list: its family is separate from the Duttons.

Release order is often the least confusing choice for a first-time viewer because it follows the way the franchise was introduced. In-universe order works well if your priority is seeing the family’s historical progression from the westward journey through the early twentieth century and into the modern stories. Since the official guide says every series stands on its own, starting with a single title is also reasonable if you only want one era.

A practical way to plan a watch-through

  1. Decide whether you want family chronology or release progression. Use the order table above. You can also start with any individual series; Paramount+ says each stands on its own.
  2. Check each title separately in your streaming app. Search by the series name rather than assuming that a service carrying one franchise title carries them all. For U.S. listings, compare the result with Paramount+’s dated availability guide.
  3. Confirm the episode listing and your plan. This matters especially for Marshals, where the timing differs between Premium and Essential subscriptions, and for any show whose season is still being listed or updated.
  4. Keep the non-Dutton drama separate. If you also plan to watch The Madison, treat it as its own series rather than as a chapter between two Yellowstone titles.
  5. Recheck before starting a long marathon. A catalog page can change after the October 7 guide update. Verify that the intended title is still present, that the season or episode you want is listed, and that the service is offering the access level you expect.

This approach avoids two common planning mistakes: treating franchise association as proof that all titles stream in one place, and confusing a show’s position in the family chronology with the order in which viewers first encountered the series. It also prevents a third mistake: planning around a season total that the official pages have not actually established.

What the episode counts do—and do not—tell you

A season count is not the same as a completed-series episode total. Paramount+’s listed two seasons for 1923 and two seasons for Marshals establish how many seasons the catalog page lists, but the current sources do not establish final total episode counts for all of those seasons. An all-series marathon estimate based on guessed episode totals would therefore be unreliable.

By contrast, the listed ten episodes for 1883 establish the size of its single season, and Dutton Ranch’s episode guide identifies nine episodes in season one, including a finale dated July 3, 2026. These are useful viewing-planning figures, but episode catalogs are time-sensitive; use the official episode pages for the latest listing rather than an old episode-count roundup.

The Madison provides another clearly bounded figure: six episodes in season one, with a March 14, 2026 premiere and all six streaming on Paramount+ according to the service’s viewing page. That number answers the common “How many episodes are in The Madison season one?” question, but it does not change the show’s status as a separate, non-Dutton drama.

All facts about season and episode listings here come from Paramount+’s own pages: 1883, 1923, Marshals, and Dutton Ranch. They are official catalog information, not an independent count or verification of viewing availability outside the U.S. guide’s stated scope.

Common viewing pitfalls

  • Assuming Paramount+ carries Yellowstone. The October guide specifically sends viewers to Peacock for streaming and Paramount Network for reruns, and says Yellowstone is not on Paramount+.
  • Confusing a franchise-adjacent title with a spinoff. The Madison streams on Paramount+, but Paramount+ says the Clyburn family is not connected to the Dutton family tree.
  • Assuming “two seasons” means a known total episode count. The current pages list two seasons for 1923 and Marshals without establishing a final all-season total in the information used here.
  • Expecting every plan to receive a new episode live. For Marshals, Premium has the as-it-airs option described by the guide; Essential and Premium have next-day on-demand access.
  • Generalizing U.S. listings worldwide. The dated guide is explicitly U.S.-focused, so viewers elsewhere need a local catalog check.
