Yamaha’s R200A is a two-channel stereo receiver and the announced successor to the R-S202. Yamaha lists a rated output of 100 W + 100 W into 8 ohms from 40 Hz to 20 kHz at 0.2% THD. Its connections include an MM phono input, three analog inputs and a subwoofer output; wireless music playback is through Bluetooth 5.3 Multipoint. Yamaha announced a U.S. MSRP of $299.95 and planned availability in November 2026, so the date and price are not confirmation of current stock.
What is the Yamaha R200A?
The R200A is a two-channel stereo receiver that combines amplification, an AM/FM tuner, Bluetooth and inputs for wired audio sources. Yamaha says it replaces the R-S202. The company describes the R200A as an all-new design, but the published information establishes its features and construction—not an independently measured or demonstrated sound-quality improvement over the older model.

Inputs, wireless playback and speaker options
Wired sources and headphones
The single MM phono input is for a compatible turntable, while the three RCA inputs can serve analog line-level sources such as a CD player. A headphone output provides a direct listening connection. Yamaha’s materials do not specify a built-in phono stage’s adjustable settings or identify particular compatible accessories, so check the source device’s connection requirements before building a system.
Bluetooth and radio
Bluetooth 5.3 Multipoint supports switching between two paired Bluetooth devices, according to Yamaha’s overview. The receiver also includes an AM/FM tuner and memory for 40 presets.

What Yamaha says changed inside and out
Yamaha’s October 1, 2026 announcement describes updated binding-post speaker terminals, a center-beam chassis intended to suppress vibration-related interference, enhanced grounding, selected components and a redesigned heat sink. Those are manufacturer-described design choices and intended effects; the announcement does not provide independent measurements showing that they improve performance compared with the R-S202.
Alex Sadeghian, Yamaha’s director of consumer audio, said the company aimed to make the R200A “a starting point into the world of Yamaha Hi-Fi” while delivering performance that would surprise long-time enthusiasts. This is Yamaha’s positioning, not the result of an independent review or listening test.

Price and availability
Yamaha announced a U.S. MSRP of $299.95 and planned U.S. availability in November 2026. Because the announced availability date is later than October 3, 2026, it should be read as a future launch schedule, not evidence that the receiver is already in stores. Check Yamaha or retailers for current stock and pricing when buying; the announced MSRP does not guarantee a retailer’s final price.

- Confirm wireless features such as Bluetooth Multipoint, and whether you need network streaming that the R200A does not list.
- Check tuner and preset support, A/B speaker switching and the physical dimensions against your setup.
- Verify actual local availability and selling price; Yamaha’s announcement supplies an MSRP and planned U.S. timing, not current inventory.
