Yahoo Scout’s MyScout is a tile-based homepage that users configure; Google Discover is an automatically surfaced feed of updates about interests. The key difference is how you shape what appears: MyScout lets you choose and arrange homepage tiles, while Discover offers topic and source feedback controls. Neither company’s published information establishes that its recommendations are more accurate or relevant.
What is Yahoo MyScout?
MyScout is a personalized homepage inside Yahoo Scout. Yahoo announced it on March 11, 2026, describing a dashboard where users can add and reorder tiles for search queries or content connected to Yahoo services. Tiles can cover subjects such as news, favorite sports teams, stock watchlists, weather, shopping comparisons, inbox snapshots, and games. Yahoo’s announcement describes MyScout as a beta for U.S. users at Scout.com and in the Yahoo Search app; availability may have changed since then. Yahoo’s MyScout announcement

Yahoo Help search-result text says users can add up to 20 custom tiles based on search queries. That limit is not confirmed in the company announcement, so check the current product before relying on it. Yahoo also says tile update schedules vary: some information, such as watchlist prices, may update in real time, while email, weather, scores, and trending news update during the day. Other tiles refresh regularly.

Discover is a feed of updates about subjects Google believes may interest you, such as a sports team or news site. It is designed to surface updates without requiring a search. Google says Discover may appear in the Google app, on google.com on Android, and on some device home screens. Availability depends on language, country or region, and device. Google Discover Help

Google says Discover can draw on information from your device and other Google products, along with data and settings in your Google Account. Its help page lists items such as Search Services History, personalized recommendations, app and contact information, and Location History. Google notes that some updates may use an estimated home location, which can be inferred from other information such as an IP address if a home location is unavailable.

How do you control what appears?
In MyScout
MyScout’s documented control is the dashboard itself: add tiles for the subjects or Yahoo content you want, then reorder them. Yahoo says the homepage adapts to users’ searches and connects with its services, but its public description does not explain a complete recommendation-ranking system or how much each signal influences what appears.

In Google Discover
Google documents controls to follow or unfollow topics, mark a topic as not interesting, hide a source, restore topics or sources, and turn personalized recommendations off. The exact controls can vary, and Google cautions that its Help settings are being updated; consult the current app or help page for the options available on your device.
On August 20, 2026, Google announced that natural-language requests to show more or less of certain topics or links would be coming to Discover. The announcement described the feature as forthcoming, so its availability to all users is not established. Google also discussed Preferred Sources for Search and AI results; that is a separate feature, not a Discover feed control.
